[Resolved]  Indane Gas — DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR NEW BOOKING

A BIG HELLO TO ALL,

I APPLIED FOR A NEW INDANE GAS CYLINDER IN THE MONTH OF JANUARY, 2008 WITH M/S. SNEHA GAS SERVICE, 33, RAI MOHAN BANERJEE ROAD KOLKATA - 700 108, CODE NO.99193891 AND THEY ASKED FOR A RESIDENTIAL PROOF. I SUBMITTED COPY OF MY ELECTRICITY BILL. I WAS NOT GIVEN ANY DOCUMENT FROM M/S. SNEHA GAS SERVICE AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE LETTER WILL BE REACHED AT MY RESIDENSE WHEN IT WILL BE ALLOTTED.

I GOT THE LETTER OF ALLOTMENT ON 6TH SEPTEMBER, 2008 (SATURDAY). I WENT TO M/S. SNEHA GAS SERVICE WITH THE LETTER OF ALLOTMENT AND I WAS TOLD TO SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS AND COME NEXT DAY. THE LIST OF DOCUMENTS REQUIRED BY SGS ARE AS UNDER :-
1. PROOF OF RESIDENSE. 2. IDENTITY PROOF, 3. RS. 4000/- APPROX, 4. AFFIDAVIT MENTIONING THREE POINTS viz., THAT I AM AN INDIAN CITIZEN, THAT I HAVE NO CYLINDER IN MY HOUSE AND THAT I SHALL NOT BE USING CYLINDER OF ANY OTHER PSU COMPANIES IN FUTURE.

WHEN I ASKED THAT WHY SHOULD I SUBMIT AN AFFIDAVIT THE SGS PERSON TOLD ME THAT IT IS COMPULSORY REQUIREMENT AS PER CIRCULAR BUT HE COULD NOT TOLD ME THE CIRCULAR NUMBER THAT TIME AS HE SAID IT WAS NOT AVAILABLE AT THAT TIME.

I SUBMITTED ALL THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS ASKED BY THE SGS PERSON AND WHEN VISITED THE OFFICE ALONGWITH ALL THE DOCUMENTS AGAIN THE SGS PERSON TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT CARD FROM THE POST OFFICE AS PROOF OF RECEIPT OF ALLOTMENT LETTER. TILL TODAY THEY ARE SAYING THAT THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT CARD, THUS THEY CANNOT ISSUE THE CYLINDER AND ITS ACCESSORIES. ALSO THEY ARE SAYING THAT ALL THE ACCESSORIES INCLUDING WOVEN WILL HAVE TO BE TAKEN FROM THE SGS.

NOW I WANT TO CLARIFY THE FOLLOWING POINTS :

1. WHETHER AFFIDAVIT AS ASKED BY SGS IS COMPULSORY, IF YES, KINDLY PROVIDE ONE COPY OF
THE CIRCULAR.

2. AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION OF NEW CONNECTION WHETHER ANY DOCUMENT IS GIVEN BY
THE DISTRIBUTOR TO THE CUSTOMER, BECAUSE I WAS NOT GIVEN ANY DOCUMENT AS A PROOF
OF BOOKING.

3. I APPLIED FOR NEW CONNECTION IN JANUARY, 2008 AND GOT THE LETTER OF ALLOTMENT IN
SEPTEMBER, 2008, WHILE I KNOW A PERSON WHO APPLIED IN THE SAME GAS AGENCY (SGS) IN
THE MONTH OF MAY, 2008 AND ALSO GOT THE LETTER OF ALLOTMENT IN SEPTEMBER, 2008.
HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE. HOW CAN THE GAP OF 5 MONTHS IN BOOKING CAN BE BRIDGED IN THE
SAME MONTH OF ALLOTMENT.

4. IS IT COMPULSORY TO TAKE ALL THE APPLIANCES INCLUDING WOVEN FROM THE GAS
DISTRIBUTOR ? THE GAS DISTRBUTOR (SGS) HAS TOLD YES IT IS COMPULSORY. WHILE I HAVE
AN ARTICLE ISSUED IN PUBLIC INTEREST BY THE MINISTRY OF PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS,
GOVT. OF INDIA, IN THE TELEGRAH ON 3RD MARCH, 2007, WHETHER IT IS CLEARLY MENTIONED
AS, I QUOTE " CUSTOMERS ARE FREE TO CHOOSE ANY BIS APPROVED BRAND OF HOT PLATES AND
ACCESSORIES. IT IS NOT COMPULSORY TO BUY THESE PRODUCTS FROM THE LPG DISTRIBUTOR."
KINDLY CONFIRM WHO IS RIGHT THE DISTRIBUTOR OR GOVT. OF INDIA.

5. IS THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT CARD IS COMPULSORY FOR ISSUEING THE GAS CYLINDER. WHAT IF
THE POST OFFICE IS DELAYING EITHER, OR IT IS MISPLACED BY THE POST OFFICE. SHOULD THE
CUSTOMER SUFFER FOR THIS. WHETHER THE LETTER OF ALLOTMENT RECEIVED BY ME IS NOT
ENOUGH PROOF AS IT HAS GOT THE STAMP OF THE GAS DISTRIBUTOR AND IT HAS MENTIONED
THE SERIAL NUMBER OF BOOKING OF IOC (NO.544 DATED[protected].

6. WHEN I ENQUIRED ABOUT THE CURRENT POSITION OF BOOKING I WAS TOLD BY THE SGS
PERSON THAT THEY HAVE ISSUED 200 LETTERS OUT OF WHICH ONLY 15 ACKOWLEDGEMENT
CARD THEY HAVE RECEIVED AND NOT YET RECEIVED THE A/D RECEIPT OF 185 CUSTOMERS. IF
THIS IS THE RATIO OF RECEIPT OF A/D CARD THEN I THINK IT WILL TAKE A DECADE TO GET THE
NEW GAS CONNECTION.

7. THE GAS DISTRIBUTOR PERSON ALWAYS SAY THAT THEY HAVE A CIRCULAR FOR DOING THIS, IF
THIS IS THE FACT WHY NOT THOSE CIRCULARS ARE DISPLAYED FOR THE CUSTOMERS, BECAUSE
ULTIMATLEY THOSE DOCUMENTS OR WHATEVER IS REQUIRED THROUGH A CIRCULAR WILL BE
GIVEN OR FOLLOWED THE CUSTOMERS.

8. LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST, WHETHER IT IS COMPULSORY TO DISPLAY PROPER NAME, FULL
ADDRESS AND AGECNY CODE NUMBER OF THE LPG DISTRIBUTOR AT THE PLACE OF THEIR
BUSINESS OR NOT. IF YES, THEN WHY NOT SGS HAS DISPLAYED FULL ADDRESS AND AGENCY
CODE NUMBER ON ITS HOARDING ALSO NO PHONE NUMBER WAS ALSO MENTIONED.

9. MAHATMA GANDHI AND ALL OTHER BUSINESS ORGANISATION HAS SAID THAT CUSTOMERS
ARE GOD FOR THE BUSINESS. IS IT NOT BUSINESS WHAT THEY ARE DOING. GOD ARE TREATED
LIKE DOG. IS IT JUSTIFIED. WHY THE BEHAVIOUR OF THESE TYPES OF AGENCIES ARE SO ROUGH.
THIS MUST BE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY ARE OVERCONFIDENT THAT NOTHING IS GOING TO
HAPPEN WITH THEIR AGECNY AND NO ONE IS GOING TO TAKE ANY ACTION AGAINST THEM.


I, THEREFORE, HUMBLY REQUEST THE AUTHORITY TO TAKE PROPER ACTION AGAINST THE
ABOVE REFERRED POINTS. WHATEVER IS THE FACT IT SHOULD BE TRANSPARENT.

the service of gas agency is very very poor. it takes the booking but not deliver, yet they didnot receive the phone calls.
thats all was not require to take new gas connection, just giving add proof (it could be any utility bill on ur owner name also) and Id proof (V card, Pan card, D license etc.) along with application and submit it, they will give you reiept of it thats it. Distributor will do all the followups and checking of your kitchen, installation and no need to buy any other equipment except ragulator and pipe, you drived by the distributor, but now You can also take the action against this type of PSU or corrupt people, Please file an RTI application and seek all the information, whatever it may be, status of all new gas connection and allotted in order, what is the current status, why not putting the add, tel no and distributorship no. everything, which you need to proov them corrupt. just send rs. 10 postal order. make sure to take the action as you suffered but don't let suffer some one else and also its your responsibility to make aware others. for more info ab RTI visit.

i am presently residing at amravati. i dont have any LPG connection. I want to apply for the new connection. I am a permanent residence of Bihar. Kindy please let me know what address proof i have to submit in order to get it. Please note that i am staying in my company provided building.
