Cheating In filling
Dear Sir,
This is in regard of my experience with a petrol pump at Anjali Cross Road, Paldi, Ahmedabad, its Indian Oil Petrol Pump.
My complain is as below in detail,
After shifting at paldi at rented house i approached this pump for the first time and asked for Petrol of Rs. 200. I left the pump and wondered why my bike ran 50 km less this time. I again went to the same pump and got Petrol of Rs. 200 this time i felt something wrong, i felt that the meter was not zeroed, but still i was not very sure. The next time i saw a guy fighting with the station boys about giving less petrol. Then i decided to watch carefully next time. I was waiting behind a guy who demanded Petrol of Rs. 100 and Previous to him a guy filled Petrol or Rs. 20. so the guy started filling from 20 only. i alerted the person getting cheated but he showed less interest and upon all the guys at filling started shouting at me. so this is the story. after that i have stopped filling at that pump. But the event of Cheating is going on which can be confirmed at the Medicine shop (Planet Health) outlet whose owner tells that this is a routine. Daily many customers fights with these peoples.
Please consider my complain seriously and do punish those guys.
(The guys at filling station has many tricks eg 1. they keep us busy in talking meaning less things as 'sir please go for Rs. 201 instead of Rs. 200. 2. while the previous customer has filled petrol of Rs. 50 they do not zero the meter and start filling from 50 only so we get petrol of Rs. 150 only keeping our view blocked.)

Hi,
I had gone to fill petrol for Rs. 1000 from IOC Adarsh Nagar, New Link Road Oshiwara, Jogeshwari(W), Mumbai today at 11 am. The guy entered 1000 on the meter and asked me to check the zero and i did so. While i was watching the petrol meter another guy came with the bill. I took it and he again asked me whether i wanted the car no. on the bill. I said no, and again kept on watching the meter.
he came back again and asked do u want to check ur "oil paani". I refused and immediately turmed to look at the meter again and i see that the guy filling the petrol has stopped the meter at Rs. 795 and within a second re-entered 1000 on the meter and tells me "madam ho gaya"
I immediately got down and said that ur cheating and u have stopped it at 795 and made a ruckus about it and the senior guy came and said "sorry galti ho gayi hogi and all that nonsense"
this has happened to me once before also but i wasn't very sure and didn't take up the issue. even that time when the petrol was being filled another guy came near my window and engaged me in talking about IOC card, bill, oil paani, etc... this is their modus-operandi i believe...
so people please be careful when u get ur petrol filled and i would definitely want the management at IOC to take notice of this issue, due to which unscrupulous dealers are giving their company a bad name... |
I totally agree with you. Getting cheated at petrol pump has become such an experience which nearly 2 out of every 3 guys faces.
I too was cheated at HP Petrol Pump located between Sohna Chowk and Goal Chakkar, Gurgaon.
I asked the petrol pump guy to fill for the Rs100 amount. As soon he was about to reset the meter, another petrol pump guy from the opposite side, asked me for the amount and started discussing about fake notes. Meanwhile the other guy said that it was done.
I had a doubt, but since the other guys behind me were waiting and asking to move, I left from there question less. I looked at my fuel meter and it also didn't come up to the mark, usually where it use to.
Then I started thinking how helpless a daily consumer is. Getting duped now and then, how to protect hard earned money from such thieves. Then all of sudden, I made up my mind to go back and fight for it.
I turned my bike and ride right up there, thrashed him, and started shouting. The other guy who was holding the nozzle came and said sorry, that he misunderstood to fill Rs 100 fuel. Then he refilled fuel worth Rs 50.
I left from there after the fuel was refilled and felt good.
The question is not about Rs 5 or Rs 50. Why to get cheated and let your hard earned money to go like for no reason in hands of such F*****.
I really request the concerned authorities to make a strict check and punish such people. |
In ahmedabad 90% petrol HP or IOC pump do some & some illegal work while filling a petrol or air...its my experience...

i met with an similer kind of insident : my vehicle tank capacity is 6.00 litters and the petrol bunk employ mr. vishvanathan has given me a invoice 6.78 litters and collected rs. 420/- from me.

i would like to infom u my contact no 9841347022 and request the dealer to justify the matter . if not we will be moving the matter to the consumer court |

| Hi My name is Ram, a resident of Bangalore for the past 6 years and staying in domlur.Today i has gone to Indian oil Petrol pump located at Domlur layout service road for filling 50Rs petrol and during filling only i gave him 100Rs and the guy who was filling it had kept his mind somewhere and he filled the petrol and said that i have not given him any money and started shouting at me.Is this the way your company responds to any customer.I am really disappoited with the way they have bahaved with me and really shame on your company.So i request all domlur residents not to use the Indian Oil Petrol pump resided at Domlur Service Road...Frustrated customer |
| I totally agree with you, in fact i have faced the same problem so many times at the same petrol station, even i had word with their manager for the issue but they have not responded us well, their staff is also rude while talking to customers. there is no doubt on quality of petrol from IOC but for resolution dealership and all staff needs to be change. |
| This is all 100% correct. I live near anjali crossroads since birth. I have caught and fought these company pump guys numerous times and still they all are doing the same thing. I please request IOC firstly to expel the complete staff including the main manager. And secondly, please come up with better technology so that these attendants and managers are not able to cheat the public |
