[Resolved]  Indian Passport — Suffering due to Indian Embassyès error

I am an Indian living in Kuwait. I had renewed my passport from the Indian Embassy. I am a B.E. (Engineer) by education. The new passport that was issued had a stamp of ECR (Emmigration Check Required). I had gone to the Embassy to remove to get an ECNR done. The people at embassy then told me that we do not issue ECR passport at all so that Stamp had by mistake come on to my passport and they just took my passport put a DELETED stamp on the ECR stamp. Then I thought everything was ok.
Now I came to Mumbai and was about to leave back to go to Kuwait, however I was caught at the immigration saying that that deleted stamp was not proper. I had informed them that my passport was ECNR and the stamp was given to me by the embassy. They said we will check the status of your passport and then decide.

They checked the status of my passport and shockingly, my passport was Still ECR. The immigration guys then blamed me of forgery on the passport and offloaded me. I was then given to the police for further verification. I was taken to the police station and put in the lock up. I was made to stay in the lock up for 3 days with criminals like thieves and goons.

My father and brother were here in Kuwait and they went to the embassy. The embassy first denied to admit that it was their mistake but on insistence and the verification of the signature that was on my passport they agreed to give me a letter admitting that that DELETED stamp was given by the indian embassy.

With the help of that letter, I was able to come out of the lock up on bail. My case is still pending with the court and I do not know how long will it take for me to clear things up and leave again for Kuwait as you know Indian Court can sometimes take months to give proper justice.

I can give you all the proofs for the same. I have the letter that Indian embassy gave.
