[Resolved]  Indian Railway — Auto cancellation of W/L e-ticket

Hi,

This is really surprising policy of indian railway where the the wait-list e -ticket will be automatically cancelled after chart preparation. At the last moment when you are hoping for best, if the odds are against you...you might be without ticket in minutes. When e-ticket facility is given for passenger easiness and make them comfortable with the use of latest technology, Lot o[censored]s are suffering bad side of this. Thanks to Indian railway. I strongly feel this policy should change, and an alternative solution has to be provided. Because suppose we are getting W/L 10 by internet booking, we are hoping it will get confirmed after chart preparation...but surprised to see if it not confirmed we are without ticket as ticket is automatically cancelled.

I urge INDIAN RAILWAY to please consider this policy and change it soon by using latest and managed softwares for people who don't have other choice rather that travelling on same day at any condition.

hello sir i am j.sharma frm pondicherry. i have book my friend ticket through the online e-ticket, from CHENNAI to JAIPUR on date[protected]. this ticket get cancelled without my knwoledge. And ttr charged fine over the my friend wthout ticket journey. how its possible? i want rights.?

Please let me know the Lower birth Quota catergory of person as i have read in one document it is possilbe for pregnant lady and above 45 age lady but when i wnet to reservation counter along with the medical certificate of pregnancy then railway person deny to give reservation for preganat lady and said its for only above 45 age lady .
Please let me know in Indain Railway has some provision for pregnant lady as they must be travel in lower birth only .

Indian Railway — wrongly adjustment of waitlisted ticket

i have booked my ticket on 29/5/11 for 30/5/11 from irctc. and my ticket status was wait list 6 at the time of booking. But after the prepration of reservation chat its come up from wait list 6 to wait list 10. how is it possible? that wait list comes up.my pnr number is[protected] and contact number is [protected] and email id is [protected]@gmail.com

WITH OUT ANY ALTERNATIVE SHE HAS TO GET DOWN FROM THE TRAIN AND CATCH A BUS FROM PUNE TO MUMBAI. AND SAME THING HAPPENED ON OTHER TICKET VIDE PNR NO.[protected] DATED 31.5.2011 AND I HAVE LODGED COMPLAINT EARLIER AND THIS IS SECOND TIME .WHEN RAILWAYS HAVE SOPHISTICATD CENTRALISED RESERVATION SYSTEM THEN HOW SUCH THINGS HAPPEN. DUE TO DEFICIENCY AND NEGLIGENCE OF RAILWAYS PASSENGER ARE PUT TO LOT OF INCONVENIENCE AND MENTAL HARRASSMENT . Indian Railway — Please refund my money

I was want to book an e-ticket ,but due to some error transaction failed. My money was transfered and I did't get e-ticket. So please refund my money in my acount . Details are below

Auto cancellation is really good... Everyone knows after chart preparation we ll get our tiket is conformed r not...if it is conformed well, no need to cancel a tiket..if it is not cnfd god grace amount should be salf..they ll cancel automatically(but we dnt have to other alternativr to go)...so my sugession is intimate chart preparation two times of each journey...i.e, intimate before 12 hours prepared on chart i.e like final chart...and after that dnt cancel waiting list the tikets...again spot cancellation will be there after chart preparation(bcz its 12 hours bfr right)..so more than 10 wl people will search other alternative having time also...after 10wl ppl may be they will get tikets...then finally cancel the tikets automatically...

Railway Online Booking — cancel Ticket

I Booked Train Tickets with details as below.
Transaction ID [protected], [protected] on 21.10.2011 for Rs.841+ Rs.841(Two Tickets) The Payment was made through my debit card, Indian Bank
I fully agree that it's a partial rule which can be easily won if it's fought in consumer court. But no one has the time to do it. Thats a sad part. Even Indian Railway knows that.

I see that when a reserved seat passenger travels in Sleeper class(SL), the same seats are left open for day time travellers. I mean during day time any person taking a sleeper ticket will be able to sit on your reserved seat. This is a partiallity because if that's the case then let the Indian Railways allow day time traveller for even AC 3 tier, AC 2 tier and AC first class.

What i see here is a bunch of partial rules which i don't know who makes this? If any person seriously pursues, the Railways can be brought to it's knees because you are paying your hardly earned money for travel.

Let it be fair for all classes whether you travel in Sleeper, AC 3 tier, AC 2 tier and AC first class. Why the indian railways has to show the partiallity. It's not british rule now as i know of.

If the daily travel passenger can sit in the Sleeper compartment during day[again partial rule], why can't a e ticket waitting list people can't be considered. I don't think there is a need to ask Indian Railways for this. Someone has to file in court. But no one has the time as i earlier said.

Rajesh is absolutely right. It is a horrible way to treat e-ticket holders.

I had a similar bad experience that my current WL number had come down from 50-60 or so to just WL2 few hours before journey. So i set out for the station (takes me about 90-105 minutes) . When i reached there & checked the charts, i found that people with current WL upto even 100 or so had got confirmed, whereas my WL 2 had got deleted at the time of chart preperation simply because it was an e-ticket !! I had to go back all the way, as i did not want the tension of being a ticketless travellor.

The Railways can very well upgrade/automate their programs so that at the time of chart preparation, pending WL tickets are confirmed in strict sequence - the status will get automarically updated, so there is no question of anyone being able to cancel the e-ticket thereafter !

After reading all reviews, I think auto cancellation is good step from railways... completely agree that everyone should have a valid ticket. But on the other hand if in case of online ticket, the status should be updated asap so that the customer wont think that they wont get the refund.

Indian Railways — Refund for vehicle transfer funds

I have booked a motorcycle for transfer from trivandrum to hyderaad on 23 march 2012 but on that day itself i cancelled the booking .
The transaction number for the booking is ::366906.
i want to know the status of my complaint which i have registersed to Cheif Commercial Officer ,Chennai kerela.
regarding wait listed e-ticket-
If there is a waitlisted e-ticket then with the proper ID, a passenger should allowed to take printed ticket if he wish to travel, subsequently online TDR request is locked for that PNR. For those this journey is really important.
if waiting ticket not confirm then what refund will be credict if e ticket book. any deduction is there ?
How i will get refund of wait listed ticket which is not confirmed & so not traveled on that ticket. now i want refund of that ticket. how i will get refund & what is the prosiger for that. plz reply as soon as possible
Then why waitlist ticket issued from the counter is allowed to travel, If you get a waitlist 1 just an hour before chart is prepared. Would you pack your bags for travel or cancel your travel plans. Railways should at least provide TC with waitlist for last WL20 passengers. So that at least they can travel with those tickets. Getting a general ticket from LTT during holiday seasons is going for an adventure. You wont get easily to the counter before taking someones punch, secondly you would smell bad, everyone would push you left and right. None of your deos would work. Thats not enough, now when you go to catch general seat, you see a long queue which is waiting for at least 8 hours before the departure of the train. you will wonder if you will be able to enter the boggie or not. Imagine rest of the journey for long trains. At least for last 20 waitlist passenger tickets should be valid.
