[Resolved]  Indian Railways — HARRASSMENT BY RAILWAY BOOKING STAFF

Dear sir,
I was issued Rly. warrant from mumbai to Delhi and back, to attend some urgent official meetings, at mumbai it was exchanged but when I went to the ticketing counter at Sarai Rohilla it was not honoured saying that since name of station written in railway warrant was Delhi to Mumbai and it was told by booking clerk that there is no rly station by the name of Mumbai hence it can not be honoured. but it is obvious that all the station (Bandra, Dadar, Mumbai central, borivali etc) comes in mumbai only. Even I met Supervisor Mr. Surender singh who also refuse to honour it saying that if we will honour it there will be audit objection . Eventhough everything was okey but they refused to honoured even the destination was clearely written. if there are multiple stations in a particular city then any of the station will serve the purpose. Due to the refusal by the railways it cause a lot of invonvienence to me. This was due to foolishness of that particular railway staff. I have faced this kind of problem in delhi only, hence i hope necessary instructions will be issued through ur good office in this regard . Thaks with regards MC LAKHERA

Indian Railways — PASSENGER SAFETY IN LONG DISTANCE TRAINS

I was a passenger in the Trivandrum Mail (Trn No. 2623) on 02 August 2008 from Chennai. My seat No. was 10 in the S10 capartment. My old aged father-in-law (Sr. Citizen), my wife and two sons were also with me in the same coach.
The train started from Chennai at 20:00 hrs. We had fear in travelling in the train as there were lot of cases of bomb blasts and the previous days train incident happened in Andhra Pradesh.
There were many unauthorised travellers in the compartment including ticketless passengers. We felt difficulty in going to the toilets as the toilet area of this reserved compartment was jam packed.
No TTE or RPF personnel made a visit in the compartment till 22:45 hrs when a TTE came and awakened us for checking the tickets. I put up my complaint to him and insisted him to register the time of ticket verification in the ticket. He did too. He was not seen afterwards. He has not instructed the unauthorised passengers to keep away.
No RPF personnel or a TTE was found in the compartment till we disembarked at Tripunithura, Ernakulam.

A complaint sent to [protected]@rb.rail.gov.in got returned as the addressee not known!

With this incident I started wondering: "HOW RAILWAYS ENSURE SAFETY OF ITS PASSENGERS"

Indian Railways — Misbehaviour of Attendant on 2nd AC coach

This complaint is about the attendant present in 2nd AC coach.I was travel ling in a 2nd AC coach on 17th August-2008 by Train no. 2722 (Dakshin Express) Coach A1.I boarded the train at Nagpur station.Once train started the attendant came and handed over the bed sheet, but didn't gave the blanket and pillow to me.I waited for that and later when he didn't turned up I went to search him, But I couldn't found him.I came back to my seat and fallen asleep.later when I got up I again went I search of him but he was not present in the coach. Then I went to the next coach and found he was sleeping their with his friend.I woke him up and told about the pillow and blanket and asked him to handover it.But he was unmoved and started shouting.Later he told that he might have kept on the above seat and I told that I will check it and came back and after some time that guy followed me and took the blanket from the above seat and gave it to me and went back.I asked for the pillow but he didn't listened. Then I followed him to the place he was sleeping and told pillow is still missing then he again started shouting that its not his responsibility and he said go and file complaint if you want. Then I came back saying that I will file a complaint against him. After few minutes his friend came to my seat and gave one pillow but that guy didn't even bother.

I am writing this because in the morning when I got down from the train I forgot to file complain against that guy.But want that he should be punished.Because we pay so much for 2nd AC fair to have a comfortable journey and most of foreign travelers also travel by 2nd AC but if the attendant are so bad then it leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Please take action against that guy who was on duty that day if we want to improve services of Indian railways.

Indian Railways — Horrible Middle Berths and Requirement of Dispensary

Hi

I suggest

--To stop the idea of Side Middle Berths
--To Start a small Dispensary in Rails...

The idea of side middle beths is sooooooo Uncomfortable...and i guess its a very inconvinient idea...

I was travelling in East Coast 8646 and got B2-8, MENTIONED AS SIDE UPPER, but after reaching there its quite ridiculous to see a side middle berth...I was not feeling well health wise and wanted to take rest...and i just tried to sleep in that FANTASTIC side middle berth...

Finally, , , I got SUCCEEDED...in getting into it and sleep, but i lost my hope coming out of it...its terrible...
and another horrible thing is that, if i sleep, the person in the lower can't sit...even that passenger suffered due to me...

ATLAST this middle seat story came to an end by a hearty Ticket Collector, who changed my Coach and gave me B1-56...tHANKS tO hIM...

This is still an INTERVAL...JUST A BREAK...

Later in the second half of the story, my health got too worse and iam seriously in need of atleast CROCIN...of course i have some other tablets and but no tablets for fever are with me...
An attendant who supplies the blankets, helped me in getting a crocin in vijayawada...Railway station...

This is not a complaint, but small request from my side...

PLEASE ARRANGE A SMALL DISPENSARY WITH MINIMUM MEDICINES AND BAND-AIDS etc

...Jst a small first aid...which helps the passengers of our "Prestigious Indian Railways " feel more COMFORTABLE while travelling.

My Hearty THANKS to Hearty Railway employees who really try their best to make our journey comfortable...

Thank You

Railway Reservation — Name Not In the Chart.

Dear Sirs,
I had made a reservation For 07th October 2008, for four person from Tata Nagar ( Jamshedpur) To Delhi by Train No: 2875 Neelanchal Express wide:-

PNR No:[protected] & Ticket No.10918133 for 3 people i.e

1.Krishna Shekharan[protected]F[protected]cofm birth no. 5 in S-1
2.Meenakshi Shekharan------F[protected]conf birth no. 6 in S-1
3.Meghna Shekharan[protected]F[protected]RLWL/39. No Track as to what happend to this reservation

PNR No:[protected] & Ticket No.10918134.
1.VBS shekharan[protected]M[protected]RLWL/40 Later became RAC 55 in S-6
But there was no trace of RLWL 39.in the CHART displayed on the board. When I went to Enquiry counter, the person on counter told me to go to the compartment S-6 the TTE will check the chart & tell you.But that will be happening after one hour when the train comes, means Authorities at tata Nagar railway station have washed their hands & shook off their responsibility.and A 15 YR OLD GIRL WAS LEFT ON THE MERCY OF DESTINY...?
When we boarded the train &after an hour or so when the TTE appeared, I explained the problem to the TTE, he was also unable to find this name in the entire bunch of reservation chart, he moved away saying he will see what he can do in this case.We waited on our conf seats. After waiting for one hour when he didn't do anything i started searching for the TTE, somehow i found him & asked for my birth...after half an hour's struggle he gave me a birth no 24 & said officially he was not supposed to do this & AB AAP BHI KUCHH KEEJIYE...TYOHAAR KA SAMAY HAI & finally he settled on Rs.100/=.
Now what i fail to understand is " who is responsible for the tough time we had to go through inspite of having paid full charges.& how are they going to compensate it and also see that it is not repeated.
I marking a copy of this to the Honorable minister of Railway.
Looking for an appropriate & suitable action from your end.

Regards.

VBS Shekharan.

Indian Railways — Huge Inconvenience during travel

Respected Sir,

I was traveling from New Delhi to Kanpur on 5th October 2008 in Gomti Express. The details of my booking are as below:

PNR: [protected]
Coach: C1
No. of Seats: 6

When train left Etawah, my wife went to the toilet with my 18 months old daughter. The door of the toilet got locked from inside, as the lock was in bad condition and it got broken. She kept shouting for help but since the train was in good speed, nobody could hear that. After 15 minutes, some fellow passengers realised that someone is trapped inside. I reported the problem to the attendant and we all kept trying for almost 45 minutes without any success. After all, we had to broke the gate to release her.

In these 45 minutes both my wife and daughter had to go thru a very tough phase. We all were very worried, as my daughter was too young to coup up with that unfortunate situation.

In view of the situation, I expect the Railway ministry to issue a full refund of the entire trip (to and fro) with an appropriate compensation. This will help in restoring my fate in the Indian Railways.

If I don't receive a reasonable reply in next 7 days, I will file a legal complaint in the consumer forum as well.

Regards,
Shashank Chaturvedi

Personal — issue of tickets to Touts at the counter

On 22.10.2008 I went to Reservation Counter at Moore Market complex of Central Station to book a return ticket from BZA to MAS. I stood in th Queue of Counter No.18. The Reservation clerk issued more than thirty tickets to a single person who is a Tout/Agent. The next one inthe Queue was also a Tout who was having 20 to 30 reservation forms. I was the third person waiting in the Queue to buy single ticket for half an hour. The time was around 4.30 pm. Beacuse some of the resevation clerks are having dealing with Touts the genuine passengers have to wait for hours together. Moreover, the tickets in the busy routes are blocked by Touts in benami name to make windfall profit. It is learnt that the teservation clerk earns Rs.5 to 20/- per passenger from Touts. This illegal issue of tickets take place in those counters where male Clerks are posted. In fact I protested the issue before the Clerk immediately. When Travel Agents are entitled for reservation separately, why the Touts are encouraged by The Railways? To prove the fact, the application forms issued by the said Clerk may be verfied as the forms carried the Rubber Stamp of the Touts/Agents and may be linked with the Serial No. of the Tickets. Further no proof is required if CBI officers stand in the Queue as a passenger as they can catch every male Clerk of Railways hand in glove doing malpractices openly. It is suggested that the male Clerks may be replaced by women clerks to prevent such mal-practices.Even though I am aware nothing will happen after this complaint, as many people are involved in such rockets, I would like to register this complaint.

Indian Railways — non allotment of birth

Dear Sir/madam,
I have broaded Maveli Express on[protected] from Ernakulam Jnt. As a result of new birth system there was a lot of confusion. So we were waiting for the TTE. But there was only a single TTE in the train. My birth was in S 7. When I approached the TTE who was in S 1 and told about the confusion he told that he'll come with some minute. But to the fact TTE never turn up. A new TTE came the next day at 6.30pm when I was about to get down at Kanhangad Station. I was allotted a birth the next day. The motto of railways is to serve better. I dont know is this the way how railway serves its commutters.
Thanking you sir

Yours faithfully,

Indian Railways — INTRODUCING OF EXTRA SEATS FROM 72 TO 81.

HI,
When i was returning to my native place from Secendrabad st to Howrah by Falaknuma exp. i found that introducing extra side middle births in some couches is very problimatic. as...

1. i couldnot sleep well even at nights for less space.
2. i couldnot seat well because increasing of extra passenger.

So, my hearty request is to demolish the extra seat for the seek of comfortable journy.

Indian Railways — harassments done by pass holders and favored by TTE

This is regarding harassments done by pass holders.
As I was travelling from Howrah to Dhanbad by train 2311(HWH-KLK Mail) the daily passengers ( Pass holders) occupied the entire reservation coach(S9) and harass each and every passenger including me. Their groups also hit individual passengers who were asking for a place to sit on their own reserved berths. Moreover the TTE(P.N.Singh) favored them and arrived for checking after the go down at Burdawan, As this was not a coincidence because I travel every weekend by this train to Dhanbad and now this kind of behavior is unbearable. safety must be provided to Individual passengers. Railway must be having some policy to treat pass holders.

Indian Railways — Random checking

Dear Sir
We request you to have random checking in all the first class Ladies compartments (central railways-local trains)as we notice lot of non first class travellers board the compartment and because of which we who take first class pass are effected very badly.
If checking is not possible in the trains (due to crowded train) it should be atleast done on the platforms (on major fast train destinations like Dombivli, Thane, Ghatkopar, Kurla, Dadar, )at each destination(just outside the 1st class compartments ) as it is done in thane and Dadar stations.Ticket checking has to be done as soon as commuters get down from the trains.
It would give some relief to us.
I hope there is someone in Central Railways Who would understand the problem we are facing.
Thanks in advance

Indian Railways — Re arranged the allotted births without my permission and affected our travel

From: Ottur, Sooraj
Sent: Wednesday, October 29, 2008 1:01 PM
To: '[protected]@irctc.co.in'
Subject: PNR No. [protected]

Dear Sir,

The above said PNR No [protected], we had booked ticked from Palakkad to Bangalore on 6528 / YESVANTPUR EXP on 28-Oct-08 and the confirmed Lower Births and the No’s are 0037 & 0040 on S10 coach. When we entered the coach we found that our births are allotted to some other party and we got surprised and then we contacted the TT. We could able to contact him after a long time of search; he was in one of the AC coach. When we contacted TT, he told that our births got changed and re-allotted no’s are 41 & 45 and shown the regret letter for the same. We would like to convey our strong protest, but failed. We booked the ticket very long time back and we needed the lower birth and we got it done through online and the other party started laugh that online will be like that. I had done lot of online booking and I trusted irctc, now onwards my trust is gone off. It is unfair with us as we booked for lower births and finally got it side upper births. We booked for lower births as we had issue to climb upper stair on train births

I request you to look into the issue and process the compensation and action against with concern person who involved on change in the birth preference.

Looking to hear from your end ASAP.

Regards,

Sooraj Ottur

Indian Railways — Website not updated

Sir/ Madam,

This is regarding the official website of Indian Railways, which is not properly and on-time updated. Recently my mom was travelling in Jammu-Jam Express (no. 2478). She boarded from Baroda, where train reaches 20 mints late. At the other site my father was waiting to recieve my mom at jamnagar station. We kept on watching the running status of the train, but because it was not updated on-time, my father had to struggle alot to search my mom at jamnagar station.

We would request you, if the site is really designed to help the customers then please keep updating data in-time so that consumer can avail max. of it.

Thanks
