[Resolved]  Indian Railways — Illegal passengers in the Reserved Slipper Compartment

I was travelling on train no 1058 with my friends on 25th December 2007, my compartment was S-6. Full train was filled with unauthorised passengers around 200+ passengers were travelling in the capacity of 72 slippers.

The corridor and the toilets were fully occupied with no place to move on. Luggages were piled in toilets and wash basin, hence making it unusable.

We try to lodge complaint with TT but he was helpless. There were no Police and to travel this way in night journey was very unsafe for the ladies and children.

We were told by the unauthorised passengers that this was their daily routine, and they travelled daily like this in the reserved compartments. This shows the hand in gloves relations with the railway authority of the unauthorised passengers.

I have taken the pictures of the train on my mobile and I will send it somebody who can lodge a formal complaint with the Indian Railways

My elder brother was about to catch the train from Behta Hazipur Railway Station. Loni, Ghaziabad on[protected] @ 12.50 PM, as he came to ticket counter he saw that the person who distributes the tickets had taken wine before came to his duty, he was not giving the change of people and misbehaving with all the persons including ladies buying tickets from there. He told me about this incident and I also surprised by this act from an Indian Railway employee.

We are regular passenger upon this route, and he made this type of irresponsibility and misbehaviour so many times in past.

So you are requested to take necessary action against him so nobody can do such irresponsible act.

I AGREE WITH THIS AND ALSO ALL THE STALLS AT SUURAT VAPI AND VALSD ARE VERY DIRTY ALSO
I am a senior citizen and my wife and I had to go to hyderabd from mumbai suddenly on a compassionate visit. As the general booking was running into waiting list and being old andinfirm needing confirmed lower berth, I had to book my ticket under tatkal quota under PNR nos.[protected] and [protected] sheling out extra money and loosing out on senior citizen concession. But to my utter surprise, after I boarded I found many unauthorised passengers boarding with wait listed tickets which I brought to the notice of the TTE but to no result.Through out the journey the corridors and the aisles were very crowded making the toilets inaccessible at night and day.I felt cheated by the indian railways for being deprived of the minimal comfort that reservation is supposed to give.I also could have saved a lot of money had I illegally boarded with a wait listed ticket breaking the rules like others. But as a old man and lawabiding citizen, I could not do it.Will the authorities wake up and bring some semblence of order?

PIL Against TVC Division - http://keralaexpress.phpbb3now.com/

Invitation to all Kerala express fans, to discuss what best can be done to save this train. To stop the discrimination of this train by TVC Division. To gather support for a PIL against TVC Division. Really fed up reading complaints about this train on various platforms. Rats, cockroaches, spiders, old broken filthy coaches and so on. Also discuss an alternative to Kerala express, like Dakshin for AP, and GT for TN.

Kindly feel free to leave your bad experiences on Kerala express, unbiased feedback for improvement and support for the PIL. If TVC Division is under the impression that, they can go on neglecting and abusing this train, your way of thinking will be forced to change soon. It is about time.
A Congress party functionary in Mumbai has alerted Railway authorities to frequently seeing rats and cockroaches in long distance trains.

Guru Nair, Vice Chairman of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (Cultural Cell), told ANI over phone that he had forwarded letters to J.K. Saha, Executive Director (Public Grievances), Railway Board, and to Mr. Kulbhushan, General Manager, Central Railway, on the matter.

Mr. Nair said that in he had pointed out in his letters that both rats and cockroaches were found in the first and second AC compartments of the long distance trains between Mumbai and Kerala during recent journeys.

He said that when he was the fare that was demanded of him by the railway authorities, he was entitled to basic facilities such as cleanliness.

"If these creatures are free moving in the compartments what about hygienic condition the pantry cars have from where the food is supplied to the passengers especially the trains to South India (Kerala). All the coaches of Rajadhani, Mangala, Netravti, Kanyakumari Express, Garib Rath etc., are in a very pathetic condition. We pay high price for travel from Mumbai to Kerala and vice versa, " Nair said.

He added: "It is high time, that the Railways should look into the pathetic condition of the coaches and services in the above mentioned trains."

Guru Nair told ANI that the railway authorities have said that they will look into the issue at the earliest. (ANI)

Indian Railways — Unauthorised persons in Ist class

To the concerned authority,

The regular commuters using the Ist class season tickets are forced to lot of inconvenience due to unauthorised personnel travelling the compartment without valid passes. It is observed that all classes of Railway employees use the Ist class compartments and occupy the seats forcing the ticket holders to stand through out the journey. They are forced to more nuisance in the evening travel back as many Railway employees are drunk and the women passengers are forced to go to the ladies compartment in spite of having a Ist class ticket.

Beggers, Vendors, Eunichs and animals are also travelling in this coach.

Request the authority to regularise this and have regular checking in these compartments. The Railways are loosing out many Ist class passengers due to this and loss in revenue. Kindly address this issue at the earliest.

Regards

G Venkateswaran
Is there any way to stop the pass holders to enter in the Reserved Compartment...its not fair that we pay full price for a seat and they are the ones who sit and sleep on it till the time their station comes ...whereas they don't even pay that much amount

If need be charge them extra and ask them pay if they want a confrmed seat...this is a constant harrassment for Mumbai - Gujarat route from these guys and most of them travel midway till Surat

Some action needs to be taken as they have started Bullying people with confirmed tickets and since their volume is huge regular people can't travel peacefully...this is also unsafe for people especially single females who travel

Also TT don't appear around this time...ideally these pass holders should only be allowed in Reserved compartment at all
Same happened with me while i was traveling in udyan express 11302 and 11301 from cstm to bangalore and while coming too. The illegal passengers had general ticket, but they got into the reserved coaches without any permission. The TC once or twice forced them to get down. But how many times can the TC also roam around the train and do this. I happened to talk to a few of the illegal passengers and they said that its their daily commutation way. Its because the local trains that travel in that distance are scarce and at very odd timings. They have no option but to travel in these trains. They said that the general compartment was very crowded and they usually do not bother to make a reservation. Here the railway needs to take strict action else the passengers knows that the worst to come is that they will be forced to get down from the train,
