[Resolved]  Irctc — Pathetic website & customer support system

Dear Sir,

I tried to book a ticket for two on 5th November, 2007 using the online ticket booking system of Indian Railways. Before I could get the confirmation of the booking the session expired. I checked the booking status in my IRCTC account but there was no update there. On checking the transaction's status in my credit card's account I found that payment had been done. I called to IRCTC help desk on 6 November, 2007 where I was told that the transaction would be reverted back within 2-3 days. After waiting for more than 10 days my bank (HDFC) still claims that the transaction has not been reverted back from Indian Railway's side. The details of the ticket, transactions, and my IRCTC account are as such:

I have lost my patience after calling again and again on the IRCTC customer care numbers[protected],[protected],[protected],[protected],[protected]. First of all no one dares to answer the phone, and on that the system is so bad that it automatically disconnects you after a certain interval of time. This means just keep calling and praying that someone will answer the call. I also tried to send emails to both `[protected]@irctc.co.in` as well as `[protected]@irctc.co.in` but all in vain.

This is when I just want to know the status of transaction for the tickets that couldn't book. I don't know what would happen to others. The IRCTC website has no instruction about where to go and what to do in case customer care and emails fail. I am in an absolute chaos now and have almost left the hope for refund. It would a real miracle if something comes out of this post.

Dear Customer Care,

we got 3 pin socket for mobile charging unit, fortunately I got 3 pin plug, but 3 pin plug was not entering inside of the corresponding socket, I have asked electrician (junior) to fix the problem since slider provided inside the 3 pin socket was damaged and restricted 3 pin plug to enter in. initially electrician (junior) denied and we could encourage him that nothing is impossible, than he supported us to remove the damaged slider which was stuck inside the 3pin socket thanks to Mr. Electrician. Before to this Electrician (senior) told us that, it is not possible if we do so it burns whole cabin's electricity.

Please avoid to use ' crabtree' sockets or any make which inner slider damages soon and troubles like us.

Indian Railways — deduction of money towards subscription

Session expired after making payment - No ticket booked -- bank a/c debited

I faced a problem while booking a ticket now on irctc.co.in, from HOWRAH (HWH) to JAUNPUR (JNU) for 14th JULY 2009 in (3009) DOON Express. After entering the details of the one passengers, I made the payment using Bank of Baroda e banking. After making the payment I got the computers screen freez.

I checked my Bank of Baroda bank e banking and I have seen a payment of 295/- debited from my account. However when I saw in booked histry of tickets no ticket was alloted to me.

Please advise what to be done since I have made a payment and there is no booking done by the website.

dear sir,
we booked tickets, and then print out is not cleared.
so, problem in irctc print ticket. so, kindly verifivatoin to the problm.

I booked a special train from Bangalore to Kachiguda on 22nd September 09. The boarding time was at 1.00pm but the train reached Bangalore only at 4.00pm. Finally we got into the train with the hope that it will reach Kachiguda atleast by 7.00am the next day. I had very important meeting with my customer that day and I was hoping train to reach by 8.Apart from all these it was stopping for hours together in each stop making it more delayed to reach. finally I reached Kachiguda at around 11.00pm on 23rd September, 09. Because of the tarin delay I lost my customer and a transaction of around 1 lakh. I couldnot help myself with that difficult tima and I now want to complaint to the irctc for neglecting public time.Also my friend travelling to Delhi missed his train which was booked for 8.30am train (Samparka kranti) from Kachiguda. Because of this train delay he missed his interview in delhi. So irctc should take care of these mistakes in future and help the people.

Dear Sir,
I was travelling by 2955 from Vadodara to Jaipur on 28.09.09 in coach no. S6 on reserved births along with my family. On reaching Kota, near about at 10.00AM, we waited for irctc personnels to serve tea on cost. Luckily one came with tea. We demanded 2 cups of tea and tried to pay Rs. 8 ( 4x2) as the cost against it but to my surprise he asked for Rs. 10 (5x2).
On asking him about the rate of a cup of tea he answered that he will charge Rs. 5 each.
I told him that the cup in which he was serving tea was having written the rate as Rs. 4 for tea then why should I give you Rs.5, he answered that it is the rate followed by everybody and if you want tea you have to pay Rs. 5 each.
Despite great need of morning tea, we had to return it just to the sake of compliance of rules of IRCTC as being a responsible citizen.
I want to draw your kind attention towards the same kind of problems that passangers face during travel on this route by any train whatsoever ( this i can say as i generally travel by either 2979 or by 2955), be it a case of tea/coffee or food.
I request you to kindly look into the matter and instruct the concerned to comply the rules strictly so that the image of indian rail can not be tarnished by these silly acts.

     I booked four railway ticket from Lalkua to Haridwar for dated[protected] in date[protected] through IRCTC.The payment made by PNB Netbanking.  IRCTC booked four  ticket of Rs 589 but from my account transction of Rs 589 two times. Please settle this matter.

dekha usi berth mein unka ticket mein S3, Berth no. 18 tha, par chart
ne unko Berth No. 1 kar diya, unka naam hai Mr. P.K. Basu. Agar kisi
bhi Senior Citizen Lower Berth choose kiya, aur unko confirmed ticket
mila, phir bhi jab wo admi train mein
safar karne k liye gaya toh dekhega ki Chart mein unka berth change
hokar Upper/Middle berth ho gaya hai. Toh iske liye jimmedar koun
hoga bataiye? Maine Already File TDR kar diya hai. Please iska reply
dijiye aur kuch kijiye.

someone stole my debit card and used it with this company irctc what ever this is. my card was used unlawfully. it should be your responsiblity to return my money to me asap. over $300 was used. this is stolen identity. i have filed a police report with the authorities you have my email address please email me back. this was done in new deli. this is not a joke!!!
