[Resolved]  Irctc — Pathetic website & customer support system

Dear Sir,

I tried to book a ticket for two on 5th November, 2007 using the online ticket booking system of Indian Railways. Before I could get the confirmation of the booking the session expired. I checked the booking status in my IRCTC account but there was no update there. On checking the transaction's status in my credit card's account I found that payment had been done. I called to IRCTC help desk on 6 November, 2007 where I was told that the transaction would be reverted back within 2-3 days. After waiting for more than 10 days my bank (HDFC) still claims that the transaction has not been reverted back from Indian Railway's side. The details of the ticket, transactions, and my IRCTC account are as such:

I have lost my patience after calling again and again on the IRCTC customer care numbers[protected],[protected],[protected],[protected],[protected]. First of all no one dares to answer the phone, and on that the system is so bad that it automatically disconnects you after a certain interval of time. This means just keep calling and praying that someone will answer the call. I also tried to send emails to both `[protected]@irctc.co.in` as well as `[protected]@irctc.co.in` but all in vain.

This is when I just want to know the status of transaction for the tickets that couldn't book. I don't know what would happen to others. The IRCTC website has no instruction about where to go and what to do in case customer care and emails fail. I am in an absolute chaos now and have almost left the hope for refund. It would a real miracle if something comes out of this post.

on dated 21/10/10 i booked one ticket vide transation ID[protected] payment has made from SBI Rs. 88/- ( R, upees Eightyeight ) deducted from my account while processes was not complete. please refund my amount in myaccount.

irctc is very good side for ticket booking but tatkal ticket is non refundable amount but tatkal booking same date same passengers & same destination ticket booked 2 time by mistakek what can i do ticket amount is 1654/DDR to AII 24/02/2011 one ticket shuld be canceld. sir, i am one of your customer for last 5 years and i do book the ticket on line. for last 5-6 months i am not getting the e-ticket on my e-mail id which i used in my profile.
for last week i have done 6 booking even i did not get ticket in email form. for this reason i am facing problem to send to my friends. sp please do necessory action for the same. i am getting mobile message still. so i hope that you will do for me.

I have booked e- ticket from id-user name- sharmaigru, passowrd- patiala. He is one my closed friend. Now he has deactivated or changed his id and passowrd and now I am unable to take a print out of my ticket. My question is:

1. can I retrive the ticket from other ID ?
2. I have made my own ID as user name sbtigrua but not recieved passwoard through my e mail.
3. Earlier also I have generated my own ID username as shivbilas but could not received the password.

Please do the needful.

I am Sakthivel.C. I didn't Changed the old password or my Login ID. But I am unable to login. So I tried to go for Forget password option in the site after entring User ID, Question and its Answer it is redirecting to another page in that it is asking for old password.

The purpose of Forget password option is to generate new password. But in that if oldpassword is asking means how to reset the password for the ID if the password is forgoten.

I tried to contact the customer care also there is no proper response and solution for my problem.

I am Sakthivel C my ID is SakthiRaji Unable to login to my Login ID due to password change. But I didn'g changed my existing password.

So I tried the forgetpassword option it asking for USERID, QUESTION & ITS ANSWER then it redirecting to another page there IT IS ASKING FOR OLD PASSWORD. IF I KNOW THE OLD PASSWORD WHAT IS THE NECESSITY TO GO FOR FORGET PASSWORD OPTION.

I booked more ticket using this ID.

I TRIED TO CALL THE CUSTOMER CARE BUT THERE IS NO PROPER RESPONSE AND PROPER SOLUTION.

IRCTC — Refund of canceled tickets (Pathetic Customer care)

I have booked one ticket in Jharkhand express for date 08-Apr-2011 from Anand vihar to Renukut on 6-Apr-2011 with the transaction id [protected]. Also i cancelled the ticket on that day only.It was all through irctc online. Now when i see the refund status in 'Refund Status of Cancelled tickets' column it is saying the amount is refunded in my account on 7-Apr-2011. But the amount has not come in the account till today. I also tried to contact to on their customer care hindred of times no but i think no one is there or all people are sleeping as it is so called government organization.
And this is not a single story, there is same story I had also booked return ticket from Renukut to Anand Vihar for date 16-Apr-2011 in TATA JAT Exp with transaction id [protected] and it was in waiting list. It remain waitlisted evenafter the chart preparaion so it was automatically cancelled. Now what it also shows the ticket cancelled and amount refunded in the account on 18-Apr-2011 but it never happened.
And the customer care is the best they does not even think about picking up any call (i think this is the primary job for what they were hired).
Also the website is so pathetic the page does not load when required.
Kindly help me in getting my hard money back as i am an private employee.

I had booked tatkal(waiting) for diva to vilavade in the morning (06/05/11) but forget to take print for the same and also not taken pnr no. so i cant't get it's print out i have mail to irctc but i hv received only ticket no. which is not helpful to me to take a print out. Hi this is Naresh, i booked my e-ticket from SECUDRABAD(SEC) to GUDUR(GDR) on 13/May/2011 to the day of journey 22/May/2011 from my irctc online account through payment of HDFC Netbanking. after making my payment with conformation, the page will not redirect to irctc site(the page will rendering their itself), and my was transction is sucessfully completed, any money will be debited to irctc account. I got Transaction sms to my mobile. And this the transction details i am seeing on my HDFC Netbank- [protected]-INDIAN RAILWAYS. but my ticket is not showing in my Print e-ticket list. i need my journey ticket to take the print out.. Please help me as early as possible, before the journey date.

IRCTC — Online Train Booking facility is pathetic

Dear Sir /Madam,

I have been trying to book tickets on IRCTC's website (www.irctc.co.in) but the level of service / facility on the website is pathetic. It takes hours to search trains and then much more time to select the train, enter passenger details and book the ticket.

The overall experience is way below expectation.


I urge you to look into this issue to make Indian Railways Online Booking Facility a better experience.

i am a regular user of irctc site for reservation of tkts .
today i just wanted to book tkts to bangaluru. surprizingly i am directed by the website to update my profile with mobile no as mandatory.
i am not having mobile i am unable to book tkt on line since availability of mobile is made mandatory.
i am old and cannot stand in the counter Q for hours or go to agents .
this mandatory of mobile is rediculous and a sort of denial of basic rights
perhaps people at high anarcy have not thought of the users.
as usual the customer care phone is enaged or ringing whith any response
it is a pity that officials at irctc where not able to answer (i got their no with great difficulty)
i resuest an immediate action and a responsible reply from irctc officials

Such a pathetic service. every day from 8AM to 10 AM site is slow & communication error, you can not book the ticket. And the reason is it allows the brokers to book the ticket in this time period and they charge too much per ticket.
once it is resumed for the normal user, all the tickets are booked and you will find waiting ticket.
