[Resolved]  IRCTC Food Catering — IRCTC FOOD in Trains WORST

I am Travelling from Chennai to New-Delhi, I am submitting this reply while in train AC2 Coach # A3, after having my RUBBISH FOOD Supplied by IRCTC catering Staff. Today is[protected] @ 10:07 PM IST. My PNR # [protected] Train # 2615, GT Express.

Since yesterday ie. 3rd June 2008 Tuesday, when I boarded this train from Chennai Central at 7 PM, IRCTC Staff came at 8 PM and took an order for Dinner and when I asked him what is available he said only Veg. Biryani. I was left with NO option and I asked him to bring one, when he brought it, I took one spoon and it was Rubbish, I could not eat even one spoon of rice and curd was also sour and stinking. I had NO option than to throw that veg. rice biryani (as it is named) in the Drain. I made a complaint to the staff who brought it, he said what can I do? This Packets came from Station and we are NOT Cooking it inside the train, we don't have any control over it.

Sensing that, he is a poor staff I paid him for the Dinner Packet which I had thrown in the Drain.

Now Today Evening again he brought the Dinner and the ROTI was BURNed, Curd was Sour like yesterday NO Improvement at all. I asked him he said I can't do any thing this Dinner we have received from ITARSI JN.

When Contacted Mr. Sanjeev Srivastava, Catering Manager in ths train. Despite my several calls he didn't come with the complaint book.

The Catering is been done by: M/s. R K Associates.

IRCTC is Providing WORST/RUBISH Food to its Travellers.
There is NO Link on www.IRCTC.co.in for Complaints regarding Catering / Supplies in Running Trains.
IRCTC has Mordenised in just Booking eTickets, Putting Google ADs and Earning Revenues from that but NOT Providing Good FOOD & WATER to its Travellers.

In these Long Distance Trains in which I am travelling from Chennai to New-Delhi takes more than 36hrs. and NO place to EAT any thing in Train, It seems IRCTC wants its Travellers should be on FAST while Travelling on their Trains.

I APPEAL to the Honourable HIGH COURT, they should NOT ACCEPT the Letter from IRCTC that they have improved their FOOD, just by giving MONEY & Contract to IMRB they have managed to get the Certificate.

Can any one SUGGEST, where can I File an Official Complaint against IRCTC Catering Department Head, it seems they are EARNING TONS of Money as BRIBE from these Catering Contractors due to which General Public travelling in these Long Distance Trains have to FACE the Difficulty of travelling without eating on 36hrs. jounery.

Some thing should be done in this regard URGENTLY.

I would again say that even a dog cannot consume this type of stale Food.

Better pay heed to my complaint, or else I be forced to go ahead.

we just have concluded journey in 2302, kolkata rajdhani exp, from new delhi to dhanbad. we were in B4. there were almost 20-30 extra passengers in the compartment with WL tickets. apparently they boarded train on ASSURANCE by TTE. the TTE ( mr yadav ) & coach attendent (ramlagan) were throughout buisy in providing berth/food to them. on every stoppage ( kanpur, allahabad, mughalsarai, gaya) the vaccated berth was being grabbed by those passengers ( unfortunate people buying WL TATKAL or regular tickets) in connivance with staffs, paying handsome BRIBE. in the process the berthed passengers had terrible time accomodating such extra passengers on their seats.
adding to the woes, the amenities were POOR, to say the least. toilets floor was flooded due to leaking sink, cockroaches found to be crawling here & there, drinking water/frooti were HOT while DAAL was almost frozen. egg curry was NOT available in the pantry, hand towel was weathered. these are only few things besides other problems e.g - the WINDOWS are now being used to earn revenue by allowing POSTERS to be pasted on it, severly hampering VISIBILITY. this causes great difficulty in reading stations name during night time. if this is generating revenue - good but U MUST PROVIDE "DISPLAY" in the AISLE.
we request the AUTHORITY/RLY MINISTER to RESTORE the DIGNITY of trains like RAJDHANI exp. please be responsible towards MONEY paying passengers.
i agree with all yours view i think you can't look irctc side and you should see properlyI you got link of IRCTC VIGILANCE under you find another of Register Vigilance Complaints you can also see status of your complain . just go through with it i hope you will get result .

On 27th noon I boarded Trivandrum-Indore Ahilya Nagari Express. Here I do not comment anything about meals. But it is obvious that alongwith meals IRCTC charge money for sealed glass water also. But when I asked the waiter for water I am told that no water is available.

when I went to Pantry Car for water, PC Incharge started narrating the reason for non-supply of water. However, before entering into a heated argument he offered me water saying that it is exclusively for me and told me not to show it to other passengers.

Observing the happening last time, after night meals the waiter offered me and my family sealed glass of water, very secretely avoiding others.

I think the reason behind this is to dispose of the bottle water in the PC @ Rs. 12/- which will be required by the passengers if they are not provided with water for which they are entitled to.

Will the IRCTC authorities look into the matter and atake stern action atleast for future ?

I have completed to & fro journey from New Delhi to Bhubaneswar with PNR no.[protected] dt.7.12.2010 in train no.2444 rajdhani express & PNR no.[protected] dt.12.12.2010 in2421 in train no.2421rajdhani express & experienced the food quality is worst.

I feel the intervention of food quality person from central government is required as it may danger to passenger health. The icident is going on in the knowledge railway officials as they are all part of it.

Hope the person looking this message feel the priority & take action .
Railways says it is for the poor people it is wrong, PANTRY CATERING CONTRACTOR IS MAKING MONEY, and RAILWAYS ARE AWARE THEY ARE HELPING THEM, PUBLIC CANNOT do ANY THING it is INDIA. JANTHA POORI @ Rs 10/ CHEAPER FOOD, it not at all available in stations .if i ask in some stations catering man laugh at me.
WILL RAILWAY CONCERNED PERSONS WILL HAVE CHECK AND TAKE ACTION ?

Why cant pantry in the train can not give cheaper food to the poor people.RAILWAY MINISTER Miss Mamatha Banerjee should travel personally in long distance trains and see the problems of the passengers, she should help the poor, they will remember..
NOw a days railways getting profit all-most all trains are running with wait listed passengers and E-MAIL TICKETS ARE NOT CONFIRMED.
yes you are right i also havevery bad expitience in 12630 yeswant pur sampark krati exp. my pnr no. was [protected] this pantry car also run by r.k. associate their manager naever give complaint book to any ane at any cost they know that whole system is currupt .they always say that do whatyou can we have so many power connection with leaders .you know they give me one veg thali in 65.00 rupees. but in irctc menu its price is only 32.00 they overcharge me. and donot give me complint when i go with train conductor he give me complint book. i have the photo which was serve to me
you are absolutely right. they are not only supplying unhygenic food but also charge more. As per irctc each and every vender in the train should be menu. but it is not in use. 90% passangers do not know about the rate. Gov. is also involving with them by charging sale tax. suppose as per IRCTC, Vender will charge Rs. 32/- + 5.8%( as a sale tax) If they provide bill for standard veg. thali. but in use it is very difficult to pay in Rs. & Paisa. Pantry piople take benefit of the same and charge more against taxes( because 95% people donot know)
I will request to the government to fixed all the prices inclusive of sale tax by which passanger could pay easly. as well as pantery car venders could collect. Now it is a need for vigilence in train who could checked price and quality in train by which they work in controle and without corruption.

I am Travelling from Dadar to satna, I am submitting this reply while in train B2 Coach # No 13 berth, after having my RUBBISH FOOD Supplied by IRCTC catering Staff. Today is[protected] @ 12:34 PM IST. My PNR Ticket# 94RM45F60H and blank paper ticket no. is C206164 Train # 12141, Ragendra nagar super fast train.

Since on ie. 8th June 2011 wednesday, when I boarded this train from Dadar Central to satna at 23:42 PM, When IRCTC Staff came on 9th june morning at 9 AM and took an order for Lunch and when I asked him what is available he said only Veg. meals. I was left with NO option and I asked him to bring one, when he brought it, I took one spoon and it was Rubbish, I could not eat even one spoon of rice and curd was also sour and stinking. I had NO option than to throw that veg.meals (as it is named) in the Drain. I made a complaint to the staff who brought it & why its price to high(65/- without water, paranthe, pickles, paneer) he said what can I do? we don't have any control over it & Fixed price.

yes u r also right i think railway food and service very bad and poor i hope a government takes a right action to catering staff .
irctc is looting the railways as they get good money from the railways for providing good food to passengers. irctc is cheat number 1, they have collected crores of rupees from agents to provide agencies, and they are asking agents to collect rs 10.00 svc chg per 6 tickets. have the agents invested money to set up a shop, pay for electricity and internet, paper, staff, machines, stationaties etc for charity work? rs 10 for six passengers? that means rs 1.5 for one passenger.

ITS SEASON TIME AND THE NO PROPER SPECIAL TRAINS HAVE BEEN ALLOTED,,,, ITS AN EMERGENCY FOR ME TO TRAVEL FROM CHENNAI TO VADAGARA (CALICUT),,AND I COULDN,T FIND ANY TRAIN TO BOOK. IRCTC SHOULD HAVE PROVIDED MORE ADDITIONAL COACHES AND ADDITIONAL TRAINS FOR PEOPLE TO TRAVEL PEACEFULLY.

IRCTC’S contactors are duping, cheating, adulterating passengers. The base kitchen supplied food and opened the wrapper put small pieces of cheese in the same vegetable called mixed vegetable charged Rs/-60 severed at 21:45 and cold. There is no such item in your menu list how irctc working them? Shame shame we will never except from such as organisation.

Food And Snacks — High price in irctc platform food stalls

Cool drings price is not sold as per MRP price it is sold to high than MRP for Example frooti half liter MRP price labelled in it is 25 rs but they sold it for 30. snacks 5 rupees mrp snacks sold at rate of 7 rupees.... local train platform 12 ,13, 14 are selling it in high price
Pl revamp catering system of Indian railway, ads are not the solution to this perennial problem exists in day to day life poor Indian railway travelers . There so many straight forward, ethical persons, companies in our country just give them chance ? Improve std of railways stop corrupts pl ????
I was travelling with my wife from NJP to NDLS by Rajdhani Express on 04/11/2014 in 3AC having PNR Nos.[protected] and[protected],
my coach no. was B-5 seat nos.1 and 4
The complaint is regarding the quality of food and the service.
The quality of food in the lunch and dinner was so poor unable to describe,
The dessert (Icecream) was served at 22.30hrs after repeated requests.
No body wants to listen. Even I asked for the complaint book but they did not care. They did not provide it. We are the senior citizens we can run around for the food.
It is a request either you improve the quality of food when your charging a hefty amount for food or stop charging.
Even while going by Rajdhani Express from NDLS to NJP on 27/10/2014 by 3AC the food quality was same.
It is a shame on the Indian Railways as well as on the IRCTC.

Think before you order for ecatering service. The suppliers cheat you with third grade food with a high price. Below is my PNR and the food booking order details:

The quality was worst than the pantry car food.These suppliers should be banned completely from IRCTC to further disappoint public. If they continue, then certainly this initiative by IRCTC is going to be a flop show. If i pay more than the pantry-car food cost, then i expect at least little better quality than pantry-car food, but i found it no where comparable with pantry-car food. If there is a voting system to disqualify these supplier, then please take my vote for the same.

Breakfast (order[protected] upma was like floating on a cup of oil. Chutney was like a chilly factory.
Lunch (order[protected] Veg thali was kind of a road side 10 rupees meal, even after paying 139 rupees. Hell lot of rice with no proper curry/side dish.

Please take some action against these supplier, or else they will cheat public like this with support of railway. The on platform small stall guys are even better than these supplier, as they sell what they show, but these suppliers cheat you with enclosed food with no option to give a feedback.

I wish this message reaches a correct person and gets converted to some action.
