Jain Housing Construction — Unhygienic living conditions in the flats built by Jain Construction Company
I purchased a flat at Pallavaram, built by Jain Construction Company called Jains Green Acres.
My flat is in Block 6, No-1E.
While purchasing we were promised a home surrounded by greenery, pollution free environment etc through glamorous advertising pamphlets.
The construction Company undertook the maintenance of the apartments through their company called “Promags” for 5 years, collecting an advance of Rs 1 per square foot from 5/03/2008.
The maintenance is to be looked after from the huge corpus fund thus raised from apartments numbering 6000 plus running into several lakhs.
The pumping system which clears the drainage water has stopped working due to repairs. The promoters failed to repair and refused to repair, and wanted the apartment owners to bear the cost. Now the Green Acres presents a very pathetic look especially Block 6 which is surrounded by gutter water breeding mosquitoes and emitting bad odour.
The promoters and their maintenance Company are not heeding to our requests and the situation has been left unattended in spite of umpteen representations.
Thus the unhygienic surroundings continue. The residents cannot find an immediate solution.
I request the Municipal authorities to go and inspect the site and take appropriate action for the clearance of the gutter water as well as action against the promoters and their maintenance company for not attending to such an important issue for a long time.
It is not known how the promoters got sanction for building such an inefficient drainage system for such a huge project.
Please instruct them to clear the stagnant water immediately and repair the pumping system which is remaining unattended after becoming out of order.
Please take immediate action to save the residents, now living under unhygienic conditions.
