[Resolved]  Kallada Travels — Driver's behaviour

I travelled from Trichur to Bangalore yesterday, 22/01/2008. I took a sleeper ticket and boarded the bus at 8:15 pm. I remember that buses usually stop at around 1 or 1:30 am at any petrol pump for filling and for the passengers to use the restroom. I felt the urge to use the bathroom around 12:00 am and hoped the bus would stop at some petrol station in an hour or two's time. But they didn't. Finally at around 3:30 am I went down to the driver's coach and asked them when they would stop as I wanted to use the bathroom. The driver very rudely told me that they would stop at some place called Kuthoor or Puthoor (Tamil Nadu) in half an hour's time. At around 4:00 am the bus finally stopped near some shops. I came down and saw the driver standing near the bus. When he saw me he told me to go some place to the left side. When I went to the place directed by him I found that it was just a barren place between 2 shops where guys were standing. He wanted me to go there!!! There was not even a covering. Seeing my plight, another passenger told me that there was a petrol pump a bit far on the other side of the road. I told the driver I was going there. He told me very rudely again to come back soon. I felt like slapping him. Didnt he know that there were woman passengers in the bus who would need atleast a proper bathroom. I am really pissed off with his behaviour.

Dear Sir,
I am a senior doctor practicing medicine in Tenkasi, Tirunelveli Dist. I had the misfortune of travelling by one of your buses from Chennai to Tenkasi on the 12th of this month. Though I have not travelled by Kallada travels before, I happily accepted your agent Alfa Travels’ recommendation o[censored]tilizing your luxury coach. That apart, I have seen your bus gliding on the roads beautifully, adding one more reason to opt for it. The seats allotted to us were L3 &L4.
Last minute confusion by the Tenkasi agent regarding the departure time of the bus from Chennai deprived me of my dinner and preparation for the travel like carrying water etc., Beating the hectic evening traffic of Chennai I reached the bus terminus with my equally aged wife about 5 minutes before departure drenched in our own sweat. After loading our luggage in the bus I realized that we had no water to drink & requested the driver to permit me to fetch a bottle of water from the shop which was right behind the bus. He refused saying that the bus was going to leave & that I could get it during the next stop. Summer heat of Chennai along with the desperate rush to board the bus on time had left us nearly dehydrated, you can surmise.
Once the bus started moving we felt uncomfortable due to the humidity inside the bus. When we informed the bus attendant he casually said that it should get better in a few minutes. Understanding the reason thru our experience in our own car, we tolerated. After an hour when we reiterated the complaint he assured us saying that the temperature had dropped by 3 degrees and the chillness should start at any time. After 2 hours when we were woken up from nap due to the sweat sticking our dresses to the seat as the heat was unbearable. For the third time when we drew the attention of the attendant of the bus he said that there was a problem in the AC unit and it would be settled immediately. It never was. The last 3 rows of the bus passengers were equally stressed I could see. A lady seated in the immediate front row with her son kept on touching the air vent in vain, hoping for it to come alive. I requested the cleaner boy to leave the sun roof atleast, ajar but he bluntly refused. Being an asthmatic myself the suffocation worsened my breathing. Now the questions I raise before you are the following.
• The usual supply of mineral water by the crew of your bus was deprived. Neither we were allowed to .
• My wife aged 52 was allotted a seat in the middle of the row next to a hefty passenger making the travel a nightmare. Bus crew of Tamilnadu would generally request the co passenger to yield the corner seat to the lady when situation like this happens. Your crew never did.
• The bus stopped en route in the entire major cities only where we could not find a toilet and were not informed to alight to ease ourselves.
• You charge the highest for the travel – Rs.850 per ticket- from Chennai to Tenkasi – Is it justifiable ?

Next morning after we reached our destination, Tenkasi when we enquired, the bus attendant said that the 2nd AC did not work at all and if I want I can lodge a complaint with the office, with total apathy. The Tenkasi agent also concurred with him.
Cattle from Tamilnadu to Kerala are sent much more luxuriously, neatly parked in open Lorries with periodic stops. Do you consider the passengers inferior to them?

My rating for the bus, punctuality, customer service, and all-in-all would be 0 for Kallada travels. This is my 3rd time with Kallada travels, each time the experience has been worst.

1. Pickup location. The pickup point for location Tambaram was given as 'Adayar bakery', which is about 8-10kms distance away from tambaram main junction. Actually the pickup location was 'Hindu mission hospital' which is close to main junction. We had to pay 200Rs to travel to the mentioned location and then come back to actual pickup point.
The point is Kallada travels does not care about informing the passangers about this or Update the location to travel portals like makemytrip, yatra, redbus etc.
When we pinpointed this to the bus driver/conductor, they were asking to tell MakeMytrip to update. Woww...

2. Punctuality: Bus was supposed to reach at 9.40pm at tamabaram. The actual tie it arrived was 10.45pm.. Great punctuality...

3. Customer service and customer interaction: No one ever picks up the contact number (mobile or landline) when we call. For the lucky (extremely patient one to dial it a 100 times) one who gets it, the attitude of Kallada travels to the customer is very very rude. The same is the case with the bus attenders/drivers.

4. Bus quality: Supposed to be a multi-axle. Badly badly maintained. I think they are not doing regular service for it. Heard from one of the fellow passengers that the bus had met with an accident one week before, this was evident from the front guard which was replaced one with a cheap chinese looking one. The driving is nothing short than rash.

5. The most important part: Bus was supposed to reach Kannur at 11am next morning. The bus had a mechanical trouble midway (~100kms from Chennai) and instead of calling a mechanic or informing to get another bus, the bus attenders/drivers wasted 2-3 hours trying to patch up. Finally when it was done, for the remaining part of the journey, the driving was so rash. No wonder the bus gets into accidents. The bus reached at 3.30pm or so at Calicut.

6. It is supposed to be Chennai to Kannur bus. Actually, the bus is only till Calicut and from there they provide a taxi/cab. A not so well maintained cab in which they put in maximum number of passengers for calicut to Kannur journey. This is never mentioned in the bus ticket or any time during booking.

By the time we reached Kannur, it was around 4.30-5pm. 5 hours late than mentioned time.

I know even putting this review has no use, since we have to depend on these kind of travels in routes where they have an autonomy, cheating customers, squeezing money from them.

I EXPERIENCED A WORST SERVICE FORM KALLADA TRANSPORT.
I TOOK THE BUS FROM NAGERCOIN AND TOOK THE TICKET TO SELAM. BUT THE BUS DRIVER DIDN'T STOP AT SALEM WENT 5KM AWAY FROM SALEM. THEN AFTER A HARSH CONVERSATION FROM THAT DRIVE HE DROP ME AT THE BYPASS ITSELF. THAT WAS TOO AWAY FROM SALEM. THIS HOW U TREAT A PASSENGER?
THE WORST SERVICE U PROVIDE MAKES ME UNCOMFORTABLE AND MADE A BAD IMPRESSION TOWARDS KALLADA SERVICES
I don't know whether this is a foum for just sharing our complaints or wther any body will take any action.I too had a bitter experiance with Trivandrum--Banglore Kallada on 15.6.2013. The Bus was schedule to be starting from TVM at 6.p.m, but started only at 7.p.m.I reached Kollam at 9 p.m and had some truble and stopped.The driver was making calls to some mechanic and we were not told about what was happening . After sone time it was told that some other bus will be coming from trivandrum and we all started looking for some hotel for food and using toilet .but the only hotel found in thesurrounding had no toiet facility.So we 7 ladies in the bus started wakling on the road in search of a petrol pumb.luckly we saw the kollam railway station and used the facility there.again at 9.30 another non AC bus came and by around 3o'clock reached somewhere near vyttila .there we were shifted to another bus .It was raining heavily and we were all forced to change the bus with luggage and all .We were about to sleep, when the bus again stopped at Angamaly.There another bus coming from banglore was waiting and we were directed to shift to that bus.At that time some of the ladies asked for toilet facilty and the driver just pointed his finger towards the open space.some o[censored]s were in a very bad condition and was ready to even use the open space.But all the men were standing there we were embarressed .When the bus started again we asked the cleaner to stop at some petrol pumb.All of a sudden he started shouting that we should have sone all the needs when the bus was stopped . i lost my control and shouted back.only one lady supported me. Due to our response he stopped at one petrol pumb at 4 o'clok .the bus reached Mysore finally at 1.30 next day. The behavour of the driver may be atributed to illiteracy, but what annoyed me most was the behaviour of the male passengers in the bus.Even when the cleaner was shouting at us, NO ONE came to support us.actually they all seemed to enjoy all the happening.They were takign tea, using the public place to urinate, smoking and having good time ...SHAME ON THEM
Waste service. I booked from Hyderabad to Ernakulam. The bus was suppose to start at 5.45 PM and it started at 7.25 PM. When the bus reached at Walayar Check post the driver had an argument with a policeman he stopped the bus for 40 mints. When bus reached at Angamaly, the tire got burst. They didn't have a spare tire and we had to travel in KSRTC bus.

While returning my pick up point was in Cherthala at 5.45 PM and the bus came at 8.20. I had a connecting bus from Bangalore to Hyderabad and this stupid bus reached very late. I lost the connecting service. And they did not provide blanket, water and employees were behaving very badly.

Never ever travel in this bus.
Dont Book Tickets in Kallada Travels.. They are waste people and waste buses.. even i have worst experience in Kallada Travels.. Friends please dnt get troubles in traveling.. very bad service from Kallada Travels.. Can Anyone one tell me how to take an action againt kallada people. I booked a ticket in redbus, the kallada people sold my tickets to some other people and created hell lot of problems and finally they gave us last seats and told us if you want to come u take last seats otherwise getdown...


Worst Kallada Travels.. Worst Drivers in Kallada Travels, Worst Kallada Travels Management...
At the time of booking they list out all the drop points. While the bus reaches destination, they say that we don’t know, talk to online people or call help line. The only thing they firmly say is this is the last stop. Also when the bus comes to their Madiwala office, 1st thing they do is closing the office, so that no one enters inside and questions them.
It was rainy midnight 12.30, and i had my wife and two kids along with me. Very coolly the driver and agent told, bus will not go in the mentioned route. My home was far away from Madiwala, no autowala was willing to come. So i booked the cab and spent 2 hours along with my family till the cab reached us. And after 3 hours of drenching in rain we reached home. Thanks to Kallada for this wonderful support. What i understood is this travels is good for nothing, they simply loot our money.

Most importantly their online feedback system is disabled. You have to type everything, and when you submit, nothing will happen; you will only see a blank page. There also they don’t care about a customer.

Friends Don't ever think of Kallada...
Service is very very bad in kallada...
Driver is behaving like what, he can do any thing.. no body is there for controlling.
Better to avoid kallada.. But as comparison I think SRM is super.
Such a bad exprience with kallada travels today(16th dec 2o13)took ticket from Raj Travells, Kottarakara to Bangalore as usual(every week me $ my friends travells to bangalore.This time the ticket allocated to me was side in next front row, as. Request. Once. I reached Adoor one of your staff very rudly informed me that you have to shift your seat to back side of the volvo witout any logic saying that you talk Raj Travels.without any Hesitation I went back to find the seat your person intimateD but not able to find . Again I went the person who drives the bus without any uniform oR name badge (as per kallada norms). Told me very rudly that can't you see the seat which I got very humilited.

In such attitude of staff I never use tis travels as me and my group commutation to Bangalore. In future.

While travelling from Bangloore to Hyderabad-----Kallada travels passengers are getting cheated by the person who is responsible for checking the tickets at hebbal Stop Bangloore. This cheating is something a new kind of technique, where Ticket Checking person will ask the passenger to get down the bus. When that passenger ask the reason, ticket checking person will tell that..your ticket is not valid, and you can't go in this bus. And ticket checking person will force the passenger to get down the bus. where as that passenger already paid Rs. 1200 and got the seat from Kalasapalyam office along with proper ticket. But when he came to Hebbal stop, suddenly he will get scolded by the ticket checking person and he will forced to get down the bus. Once the passenger get down the bus, that ticket Checking person will sell that seat for Rs. 1000 to other people at Hebbal stop. once that ticket checking person sold out the seat, he will give the share to the Bus Driver. Finally bus will move on, and that passanger who get down from the bus..can't get bus anywhere. This is happening evrery Friday night. The ticket Checking person is very much Fat guy. I don't know his name.
I had a horrible experience with kallada. I wanted to travel from Bombay to trivandrum by train. I was not getting any train tickets since it was April-may. I wanted to travel with my wife and 10 month old baby girl. Since I did not get any train I suggested Volvo to my wife. She refused initially saying it would be difficult to manage with baby. We also had a lot of luggage - 8 big bags. The place I stay in Bombay is called chembur - from here u get all the Volvo buses for any place. Finally we decided Volvo sine we just could not get train tickets. I decided that a direct bus would be best since it would be difficult to change luggage from one bus to another with baby and all. But alas there was no direct Volvo from Bombay to trivandrum. It seemed we had to change from bang lore. Finally it seems there was a direct bus. I met an agent and he made me speak directly to the operator of the travels. He assured me the bus will travel directly from Bombay to trivandrum - no need to get down in Bangalore to change luggage. I was so happy and so foolish to believe him. I don't know if I should be called foolish. Just for getting my 2 tickets the operator lied to me. Guess the travels - kallada. Anyway I was very happy until it was time to board the bus - then I had the shock of my life. Here I am waiting with my baby in arms and wife and 8 baggage. First of all to begin with the cleaner/loader of the kallada bus refused to let me on the bus with 8 bags. He said only 2 bags are allowed. (Why wasn't I asked how much luggage I had at the time of booking) . The helper told me to cancel the booking on the spot. I got afraid and had to pay him 300 re's that he demanded. Then I realised he cheated me. Then I got furious and demanded a receipt for that 300- they said they will give and then conveniently did not. Anyway that was the start - the bus was dirty - the driver cleaner(2 cleaners) very rude. It was as if they were from the mafia. Then we reached bang lore - very unpleasant we had to change to a non-ac bus which would take us to the ac Volvo of theirs which was 5 km away- this happened in the afternoon and it was very hot and my baby started getting sick due to sweat. (At the time of booking I was told it would be a direct bus) I had to pay the helper to transfer my luggage from one bus to another. Then we reached the ac Volvo - it travelled till hosier and then again another bus. Each time it was very difficult to transfer the luggage from one bus to another. I had to pay the bus helpers to transfer luggage. Finally I was hope full that the last bus would be comfortable. It became night finally. They stopped every half hour to one hour and my 10 month old baby could not sleep because they kept switching on the lights during the night to let extra passengers in. Overall it was horrible experience.dirty bus. Rude drivers/cleaners, all lies no honest information. Just for your money they will tell you any lies. Please avoid kallada guys. I even tried to complain in the bang lore kallada office - but pathetic response.

Its always a bad experience to travel in kallada travels. I always suffer because of the unprofessional behaviour. I have booked a ticket from shivrampally, hyderabad. The day of journey i get a message to board at paradise. If they have to decide the place for us to board then why do we have a option to select the boarding point. Always lame excuses, worst customer service. I have enquired regarding the message i received & they assured that i can board at shivrampally, again the driver calls me asking where im bus is waiting at paradise. As i have received the confirmation about my boarding point then why the drivers do not get the same information updated in their passenger list. Worst ever by any private bus service.
Yes I agree, bad behavior from kallada drivers and other staffs. I experienced on 28-11-14, attached proof..

This is the most [censored]ing travels ever seen in my life.. Booked ticket Bangalore to tirupur...My mom was travelling alone... Timing was 2.00pm -9.00pm .. But Finally they dropped in Avinashi and said it wont go to tirupur... Before getting it to bus i was asking the travel's guy working there and he said it will go to tirupur... But they dropped my mom in avinashi and driver said it wont go to tirupur, didnt travel's guys didnt inform... She was alone at 9.00pm there and atleast she went in cab... This [censored]ing travels is not responsible and giving false promise... No guaranty and security to passengers, specially for ladies... Till now they didnt change the destination place in website... This is totally a fraud and the most [censored]ing travels in the world...

Pathetic customer service. Horrible staff behavior. Never again with the.
an excellent citybus running from tanjaore to hyd with at least a stop in half an hour getting in and getting out of passengers with lights on every half an hour. those who do not get sleep in nights is an excellent opprotunity to travel in this bus. charging more than 1800 with below average comfort in seats and ambience in side. despite stops and a puncture after jadcharla it could bring us to hyd after 8.30. thanks a lot.
one star is too high for this service which do not follow any ethics night long haul. i have never had a problem with my sleep in volvo buses. after return i go to office with other buses. this bus journey forced me to apply for a day leave and sleep.
the cost should by 900 for city bus. unless it improves service comfort for not disturbing during the total night it is BIG WASTE SERVICE
we have not received sms for ticket confirmation and on request by mails 2 times also i did not get the reply mail or sms for journey. the site maintaince is very low . and needs updation for prompt service
