Respected Sir,

I wish to draw your attention to an unpleasant experience encountered at the Kendra Vidyala, Kadavanthara, Ernakulam Dist.,Kerala.

I am an ex-serviceman who has served the nation for 20 years as an Air Force Personnel.I have recently retired and am in the process of enquiring about admissions in various schools.Kendriya Vidyalaya was a priority for me as I have heard a lot of positive feedback from various sources regarding academic superiority.Since the armed forces personnel (serving & retired) prefer KV for all the goodwill it holds, I ventured to enquire to the admission process.

The staff at KV, Kadavanthara were least co-operative.From the security personnel at the gate to the office personnel, no one was willing to entertain basic queries;even though I clearly informed them that I am a retired Air Force Personnel. An attempt to fix an appointment with the Principal was rudely turned down by the office clerk. The staff at the security informed me that the Principal has passed orders to the security to turn away at the gate itself; all who come in connection with admissions.

A person who sacrificed his youth to protect his country definitely deserves a better deal than this. This incident has demoralized me and I have serious doubts as to the efficacy and integrity of the school and their admission procedures.I request you to kindly look into the matter and make sure that admissions are being granted to deserving and genuine candidates.

Thanking you
Yours sincerely

Sir - I am myself an alumini of several KVs. I was fortunate enough to study in some top most KVs in India and abroad. Also, fortunate/unfortuante to be taught by award winning teachers - one of whom is none other than Mr Rajendran Kamayil (He was Rajendran K when he used to teach me, don't know when this metamorphosis or transition happened lol), who is the current principal of KV Ernakulam.

No doubt, he is a awesome teacher. You listen to his class properly, and revise it at home, you can score very good marks. But, HE IS NOT A GOOD MOTIVATOR OR MENTOR FOR WEAK STUDENTS. Many students have been vicitimised by him, even me. Let me use his own words - He 'MERCILESSLY DETAINS' everyone who is weak. Dosen't have the stuff to motivate and bring up weak students.

He may be a successful teacher, but let him remember that lot of sobs and sighs of many students and their parents still follow him. It will defintely affect him sooner or later, some way or the other.
I also would like to report yet another unpleasant event occurred with me. I am working for a Central Govt organization and belong to category 2 for the admission priorities for KVS. My elder child is studying in KV EKM and i applied for my younger child this year for first standard. I came to know that this time the number of candidates applied was very high.

on the second list preparation date, i went to meet the principal Ms Sreekumari to know whether there is any chance for admission or not. She was very arrogant and restless to avoid my questions and shouted like an uneducated lady. i pleaded again by telling that my elder child is studying here. so if the younger one could also get admission in the same school, it would be better. then she told, " take your elder TC and let it join with the younger in the same school. i cant listen to all parents grievances" i am also working and almost the same grade as hers but was silently hearing every rubbish words coming from her mouth.

but after my meeting with her, another person ( my child's friend's mother - a private employee) came with a recommendation and she was talking to her very nicely.

with my elder child's safety and well being, i am not reveling my name or designation here.

i suggest the upper designated persons should be more polite while dealing with the public...

regards and best wishes...

a well wisher
Sir, i am a parents of my son & fill the kvs form for 1st standard. I also belongs from central government employee but there is no name of my son is the addmision list. So we are suffering from this problem, because our transfer and other things are very strong problem to us.in future years there is 4 section of each standard, but this year school close the one section in every class so there is also a problem for our children.
So, we all are requesting to you that please open the 4th section of each and every classes.

My elder son was studying in KV in another station, when I and my wife got transfer to ernakulam we had transferred our son from his school and went to meet the principal Ms Sreekumari to know whether there is any chance for admission to him in the school since we are living very close to the school. She was very arrogant and restless and shouted like an uneducated lady such as "who told you to transfer this boy from the old school, who told you to take a home near this school"etc...we can not leave our son in the old station, also the KV students, whose parents got transfer should definitely be accommodated in the new station of their parents. but the principal was very rude to me and my wife in front of our child and she told us to give an undertaking that we have no objection, if she seated my child in the floor if necessary.

with my elder child's safety and well being, i am not reveling my name or designation here.

i am working as an officer but I was silently hearing every rubbish words coming from her mouth since I have to get an admission for my child in that school
.
It is very depressing to see such baseless comments being posted without any concrete evidence or enquiry. I have been in service for 37 years with 11 years as the Principal of different schools, and this is the first time that I have come across such allegations. Admissions in KV are not done by a single person but by a committee and the Chairman of the Vidyalaya. KV Ernakulam being an overcrowded school, chances of vacancy other than class I is nil. The Principal cannot go against the guidelines for admission nor admit any student according to his/her will. There is a general opinion among a few that malpractices are taking place and so every year we have a few court cases to deal with and in all cases court proved that the admissions done by KV Ernakulam are as per Admission Guidelines. Mr. Rajesh who is employed in the Indian Air Force challenged the school because he could not get admission for his ward and he even approached the High Court against K V Ernakulam. But his case did not get the approval of the court stating that admissions in KV Ernakulam are done only according to the guidelines. I’m posting this only to clarify my position and to state that admissions are not in my hands and I have to strictly abide by the rules and regulations of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan New Delhi.

Smt. C M Sreekumari, Principal, KV Ernakulam
Mam,
You say that these allegations are baseless. While the court may have ruled in favor of the decision to not admit a child. However, is the greater allegation not the one pertaining to the behavior?
Could you kindly confirm these words are untrue:
"She was very arrogant and restless and shouted like an uneducated lady... ""who told you to transfer this boy from the old school, who told you to take a home near this school"..."the principal was very rude to me and my wife in front of our child and she told us to give an undertaking that we have no objection, if she seated my child in the floor if necessary"

If these are untrue and not representing of the nature of your dealings then I guess we must just ignore it.
Best Regards,
