Sub: Life Death Claim of Father Pending for more than 1 month with LIC,Bhopal

Sir,
Greetings for the day.
Would like to seek your guidance.
My beloved father Late Shri Ashok Kumar Chaturvedi had taken a Life Cover from LIC,M.P.Nagar,Bhopal Policy No.#352594370.
We lost our beloved father on 29 January 2009.

Since, he had this Insurance policy which we later came to know hence the claim was submitted(complete in all respect) with the Bhopal office by my mother Mrs. Ranjana Chaturvedi(Nominee) on 9 April 2009.

Since the submition of Claim and its settlement had taken more than 1 month with no update from LIC on the same till date.
In view of this when the local claim team was contacted today they said it will take another 7-8 days(which i think is again a false commitment).

Hence would like to have your guidance in the matter.

Should i go to Ombudsman?
