[Resolved] Maruti Alto Lxi — Replacement of silencer | |||
Dear Sir/Madam We had purchased MARUTI ALTO LXI from Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. authorized dealer M/S Premsons Motor Udyog Pvt. Ltd., Ranchi vide invoice no.VSL07001834, dated 07.02.2008, Engine no. 1208662, chassis no. 1090163, vehicle no. JH01V/0266 & is under 3 years warranty. My vehicle had been serviced timely according to guidelines given in owners manual of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. & is under observation of company service dealer M/S Premsons Motor Udyog Pvt. Ltd. We have kept all service bills & job done report documented, if required can be produced to you for your perusal reference. Now, there is a noise problem observed in the silencer due to defect of silencer which is recommended for replacement by the co. service dealer. So far total running of the vehicle is 13500 kms only & is under warranty. Regarding this I also discussed with Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. & become dishearten by non service towards the problem. We are mentally huge pressure.. Being a reputed organization; such kind of service is not expected to us as a customer. So you are requested to please look into the matter & advice Maruti service dealer for replacement of silencer on free of cost under warranty. Silencer noise is a very common problem in Alto. Even my Alto has the same problem, and despite all efforts I have failed to get a new silencer for my car as it is not available anywhere in or around my home town i.e., chandigarh

Maruti Suzuki Ltd. / Alto LX — warranty problem in Maruti.
Dear Sir,This is to bring it your kind notice that, I purchased an Alto LX UP14 AM1992 (Engine no. 1203843 & Chassis no. 1061488) from Dev Motors, Aligarh, on 12.11.07. As per normal rule of a guarantee period of 2 years and / or 40000 Km, I lodged a complaint at Raj Sneh Auto India Pvt. Ltd., Delhi Road, Meerut (One of your authorized dealer) on 02.11.2009 (about 10 days less then expiry of the guarantee period) that three were following problems with my car:-
a) Oil level low
b) Oil consumption high]
c) Fuel adulteration problem
d) Vehicle need eng. repair
All these problems were noticed; photomarking was done and send to Maruti on 02.11.2009 by Mr. Amit Sharma of M/s Raj Sneh Auto India, Delhi Road, Meerut. When my car had moved only 15554 Km.
M/s Maruti is prepared to bear only 50% of the expenses to be incurred in the rectification of my Car. Does this not look strange that when my complaint was well within the time of the stipulated warranty period and now M/S Maruti unethically asks me that they would be sharing only 50% of the expenses incurred
I am getting mentally harassed for last seven months can anybody help me in this regard I will highly thankful

@ Charanjeet, yes you are correct Maruti Alto Silencer has a know issue. It always rattle after some time, possibly the reason is the water drops coming out from Engine make the inner catalytic convertor / silencer more rusty and becomes weak with due course of time.
I have recently faced the issue, got it fixed from local mechanic @ Rs 600/-.
1. He unmounted the silencer [both front and rear].
2. Opened the silencer [by cutting procedure].
3. De-carbonized by hammering/heating + Welded the filter inside the silencer which makes noise.
4. Welded it back to the original form.
5. Add some used/old oil in the front silencer so that it should increase some life, as the exhaust air is always with water drops.
6. He mounted the silencer back to original form, he also added the packing in between the front & rear silencer to suppress extra noise.

Alto Lxi — RATTLING SOUND AT REAR SIDE
RATLING SOUND IS OBSERVED IN THE REAR SIDE OF THE VEHICLE SINCE THE DAY OF PUCHASE. SHOWN TO THE DEALER MANY TIMES AND AT THE TIMES OF SERVICE ALSO. BUT NO USE. TWICE I MAILED TO MR. VENKAT , MARUTHI SERVICE ENGINEER BANGALORE. HE ALSO DID NOT RESPOND SO FAR.
