[Resolved]  Maruti Swift Dzire — Maruti Suzuki Dzire Booking Problems

I have been trying to book a Maruti Swift Dezire VXI from the last few days, and am going through the a harrowing experience with the Dealers. I first went to Pratham Motors at Outer Ring Road to book the car. They refused to take a booking and told me that Maruti has stopped taking booking of Swift Dezire cars. When I put pressure on them they told me that they can take the booking but the delivery would take 9 months. They had 2 weeks back told me that the delivery would take 3 months, which was also long, but I was ready to accept it. But last week they told me that they would be able to deliver in 9 months. I was also surprised by their behavior.

I then called up the Maruti call center and spoke to Jiten, He told me that there was no stop from Maruti’s end on booking for Dezire and the delivery period was much earlier than 3 months. He took my mobile no. and promised me that somebody would be calling me at the earliest. But till now there is no call.

After that I spoke to multiple other dealers in Bangalore for the booking but every body was mentioning that the delivery would take 4 to 6 months. When I spoke to Mr. Anil from RNS Motors, Yesthwantapur. He told me that they could deliver the vehicle in 3 months time, I was relived and asked him to send a person to take the booking immediately. But nobody came for the booking till afternoon. Then I had to call Mr.Anil multiple times. Then at last in the evening he promised that one sales executive would reach my home late in the evening.

At last at 8 PM one Sales Executive from RNS Motors Bomanhalli reaches my home, gives me a price and tells me that there are no discounts and any freebees. I agree to the same and fill the booking form. After filling the form when I was giving him a cheque of Rs.25, 000/- as the booking amount, he refused to take it and said that the Booking amount for the Swift Dezire is Rs.1, 00, 000/-, which is fixed by Maruti. I asked him to show me documentation to this effect, he was unable to show any documentation. After that I spoke to the Sales Manager, of RNS Motors Bommanhalli and also with Mr. Anil from RNS Motors Yeshwantpur the accept Rs.25, 000/- as the booking amount, but they FLATLY REFUSED.

After that I also called the Maurti call center again and spoke to Mr. Danish, and asked him if Maruti had fixed the booking amount of Rs.1, 00, 000/- for the Swift Dezire. He told me that Maruti had not fixed any thing of this kind and he would take it up with the concerned authorities. I asked him for the phone nos. of the Regional Manager at Bangalore of his mail id. He refused to give them to me and just gave a email id [protected]@maruti.co.in.

At end of all this experiences I feel very disturbed with the way I was treated by the Maruti dealers. The attitude they have is like they have a monopoly and can take the customers for a ride. My not buying a Maruti car will not make any difference to a big company like Maruti. I just wanted to check with Maruti if this the way the want their dealers to treat customers and claim to be the Winner of J.D.Power Customer Satisfaction awards, year after year.

I had sent the entire above details to the email id provided by the call center and also put in the details in their web site. I got a reply mentioning that the complaint has been sent to the concerned department and they would get back to me. 5 days had passed and there was no reply. So I sent a reminder mail.

Some body then called from the call center and was taking the details when the line got disconnected. He did not bother to call me again after that. This is kind of service we get from the leading Car Manufacturer in India.

I think Accent is going to be another good option...In the month of jan, when i enquired with the Accent Showroom guys in Hyderabad, they informed me that Hyundai is going to phase out Accent...Because of which i started waiting for Dzire...And today when i called Accent showroom again, they told me that Accent is not yet phased out and is still in production...So, i will probably wait for 10 more days and will cancel my DZire booking before i loose my eagerness & anxiety for a first new car dies away... :-)
Dear all,

The same case is happened with me here in the city visakhapatnam, AP. I booked Swift Dzire on 29th of Marchl, 08 by paying Rs.50, 000.00 on delivery terms of 1.5 months with Varun motors. Ltd., Visakhapatnam. But now dealer is saying it will take around 6 month to deliver my car. I also wrote to Maruti's site. But no reply. As new car is comming within a month I sold my old car too and now roaming on two wheeler. I dont understand what to do.

Regards.

Hi All,

I suspect all this short supply was for the price hike which has been pretty significant for Dzire .
Now with the increased price in effect, MSIL would ease the waiting period .

Atleast i hope so,

Regards,
Nitin
You might be right Nitin, but my strong feeling is that there is some technical fault with the car. They surely would have anticipated the success of this car as at this price it really does not have much competition.
They must have manufactured a good number of Dzires before launch so as to meet the demand. But now they might be taking time to resolve the technical issues with the car, and therefore they are delaying so much.
I also booked Dezire on first week of April at Bimal, Bangalore. At that time they informed me that the delivery date would be with in two months. Again I inquired about the delivery date three weeks before, they told me that I am in the 4th position and will get my vehicle in June. But in the last week, I was informed that it will take another 6 months and the main reason is that who ever booked Swift model most of them decided to buy Dezire. My view is, both the vehicles belong to different model and that customer should be last in the queue, right. What I need to do? I am in dilemma now…:(
Guys,

It seems that Maruti has serious problems with DZire... either technical or production related. The other opossibility is the cheap "artificial demand creation" trick... which is very hard to belive at least to me. Whatever it may be... I treat this as cheating and would blame Maruti for this.

After waiting for 3 long months with 5.08 lacks advance payment for DZire ZXi, the dealer and Maruti Hyderabad Regional manager forced me to chnage my decision and go to Swift ZXi claiming that DZire would take another 3 months (in fact I had booked Swift ZXi in Feb and changed booking to DZire ZXi on 15th March). Finally they delivered me Swift ZXi on 16th April. (btw... the car is really nice... but not worth waiting for 3 months :-) ... and of course DZire also wouldn't be worth waiting for 6 months!)

I would like to recommend you guys to change your minds... select any other car of your own choice. Do not follow up with Maruti. Dealers do not have any information, Maruti's customer care call center is hopeless, they do not reply to emails... if you try all this, its simply waste of your time and money. The pain and agoney you face is bonus!

If someone from Maruti is listening... Please change your attitude and behavior. You have good cars but you do not have equally good customer support and customer caring people.

DZire is really UNDEZIRABLE!
oh my god!i feel myself lucky enough to get dzire vdi on the next day of its launch without any booking.
hi saurabh
you are the most unlucky person on this earth getting the faulty car and too paying 6 lakh to it.
enjoy the faulty car!! that's why it has been sold to you... with out booking..
I have booked Swift Dzire VDi from Pune and currently undergoing the same problem.
It is close to 2 months now and I am not getting any correct information.
I tried getting status through their site email id, but in vain.

This is Maruti service at its worst. There is absolutely no transparency, and they are encashing the position they enjoy by harrassing customers like us. I would never turn up to buy another Maruti in near future again. I recommend others also the same.
Let us give chance to other automobile mfg. to expand their base here.
I totally agree with you that the dealers are not customer friendly. But I know one reason for they getting JD Customer satisfaction award. I have seen that when the relationship manager comes to customer to take review for the ratings, he gives a prefilled card with best ratings and offers soem gifts for signing on it. I once asked him, that it should be confidential and should be mailed directly to by me, then he says that these are not necessary, it is better i[censored] send it through us :), most of the time customers are lured by gifts and dont bother to provide honest ratings and the ratings are given by dealers themselves.
Good going Maruti.
indeed maruthi has gone crazy to launch a car widout infrastructure in place.its sheer carelessness and the dealers of maruti are really terrible.i wonder how maruti is placed on top in JD customer satisfaction.asking to wait for 6 months to its customers is too much.maruti is taking its customers for granted.but the other companies like hyundai and ford has inferrior products that they sell at premium price.the verna and the fiesta is very over priced cars.and one more thing is the dealers of maruti in hyderabad are very unfriendly.can i expect someone from maruti to mail me and know wht my problem is???i too wanna place a booking for dzire zdi.mail i[censored] care for ur customes.
hi friends..
even i had put forth complaint on this forum regarding MSIL due waiting period menace thrusted upon us.. last week suddenly dealer informed me that my vehicle has come..now that i have got delivery of the dzire, i think all you aspiring owners shall get delivery within next month or so.. vishal singh rana..
Hi Vishal,

That is gud news, Congrats !! if you could tell us when had you booked the vehicle and where .
It would help us all to follow up on our booking as well ..
Cheers to your new car :)

Nitin
MARUTI is not TRUE value ... Its BAKWAS VALUE for money. I have an experinec e with Maruti, FORD as well as Hyundai. These 3are bad in terms of servicing. I would suggest all to go in for proper brands like Honda as well as Toyota, wherein you are being treated properly and respected . Also your car servicing is very good.
Thanks Nitin..
just to tell you i had booked Dzire Vxi on 31/03/2008 at Vipul Motors, Noida.. Though behaviour of the dealer was something i don't want to comment upon (to tell you the truth it offended me to the limits!!!)... but i mailed to all the MSIL top officials, they in turn assured me that very soon something would be done.. That's it.. Friend its a very good vehicle.. people may say anything but i tell you at this price range(even after hike) it is something worth waiting for...(of course not 6-8 months).. i believe you all will get the vehicle very soon.. Thanks and regards.. Vishal
Hi guys,

I am also facing a similar situation. There was some kinda commitment from dealer when I was bookin my Dzire but now there is none. Although, they still say that they would be able to stick to their deadline provided earlier. Btw any idea what is booking no? is it dealer and model/variant specific?

Hi Vishal, can you please detail in as to how you got the MSIL top officials email id. Also, what was the actual date commited(if any)?

Any one else who have recently got their dzire please do post, so that we poor souls can have some understanding of the situation.

Thanks
Maruti has got the great product in market but looks to virtual for most o[censored]s. The kind of time they are taking to delivering the car makes it feel as if you are buying a Ferrari or Bentley etc. In short "It sucks". On top of that they have played a very clever trick got enough bookings on hand and then increased the price. Looks a clear strategy of making easy money. As an ethical company they should be giving the car at the price its been booked not at the price at the time of delivery.
Hello All
ohhhh damn...this is somthing vry unfair what is happening with you guys..i have also booked Dzire VDi 10 days back from compitent (Delhi).they are the only guys who told me that there is 6 months of waiting on Dezire..rest all dealers told me that there is 8 to 9 months of waiting on the dzire. i asked the competent employee that what is the reason behind this much delay, he also do not know the reason and just told me that the prodution is going very slow and the demand of the car very high. he also told me tha in MAY months they have not recieved even a single Dezire from maruti end. so after listining to this i am not even expecting to get my dezire before 6 months.
i guess this is realy a very serious issue and MSIL have to do something on this. if they continue doing the same thing then they will loose there valuable customers. MSIL have to give a very deep thought on this else they should be read to loose there customer.
telling the truth i am still confused, should i wait for 6 month or i go for other alternative available in marker.
IS WATING FOR 6 MIONTHS FOR DZIRE WORTH?
hi
its not worth to wait 6 months for this car
All you people who have paid any money (100, 000, my God!) to any dealer of Maruti and not got the delivery in the said period should approch consumer court. It works. Don't suffer.
Maruti is not the end of world when it comes to cars. One person not buying a car may not make any difference to Maruti but just looking at this page one can see that there are many such people. All of you together will definitley make an impact. In this age of globalisation, no company can afford to take consumers for granted ! Maruti needs to be taught a lesson.
