[Resolved]  Matrix Cellular International Services Pvt. Ltd. — Wrong Billing - Fraud

I was about to travel to 3 countries (Holland, Belgium, France ) in June 2009 and hence I bought the required SIM card from

Mr. Hariprasath, the Sales Executive got a copy of my Credit Card and when I asked how will the deduct the amount from the Credit Card, he said that it will not be deducted without the instruction from me.

I got the 3 SIMs and landed in Holland on 1st of June and there my plan was changed and didn't go to France and Belgium and hence there was no way to use the other 2 SIMs except the one for Holland. I used the Holland SIM only for incoming calls.

NOTE: No charges for incoming call.

And once I return from Holland on 27th June, within 2 days an executive called me and came to collect the SIM card. I returned it getting the acknowledgement.

On 1st of July, I received an SMS stating the deduction of Amount from my Credit Card towards my bill. I was surprised to see my bill received through Email, which was charged for my France SIM. I wrote a mail regarding this stating them that I didn't use it at all but received my bill for it.

An executive replied that they have forwarded to the concerned section and will reply to me at the earliest.

I am yet to get a clear reply from them.

I decided not to suggest Matrix hereinafter.

It is request that I am your coustomer since more than last 3 years and using your mobile services continously. I have to face with wrong BILLING this month which was Rs. 1767.In this amount Rs. 500 have been added wrongly. This amount has been added by activation of S.T.D. But I have never used S.T.D.
This bill hurt me and your customer care also not satisfied me. So you are requested that please look into the matter, correct my bill amount and action should be taken against person who activate this STD service by misguide.Otherwisw I will sorry to say that I will no longer remain.

This is Prasanna Rodrigo again. I would like to inform you that based on the complaint made on this forum, Harleen Rajput, Sr. Manager, Customer Care from Matrix Cellular Services Pvt. Ltd., 7 Khullar Farms, Mandi Road, Mehrauli, New Delhi-110030. Phone No: Fax-+[protected] sent an email on 1st September requesting for the details of the complaint and then got back to me over and mail that the cause was unknown and the said concern is raised with their France network. Also added, that she will send the cheque for the amount and also as a gesture of courtesy, a discount voucher worth Rs. 1000/- which can be used within an year, will be sent to me.

I received the refund cheque on 7th September 2009 along with the discount voucher valid upto 1st September 2010.

Yes I agree, Matrix is a ripoff and their Customer care service is absolutely lousy.I went to the US and used the sim card.I was charged exhorbitantly for calls not made by me.When I brought this to the attention to the representative who gave me the sim card.He said he will look into the matter and credit me the amount for the wrongly charged bills.Nothing was done and then again I was Matrix charged my credit card with a bills of calls I had not made. Please be careful of Matrix. They misuse and take advantage of you and your credit card.The representatives don't do anything.I don't recommend the use of matrix card AT ALL. It is cheaper and safer to get a local sim card to the country you are travelling to at least then no one can misuse your credit card.

Its best to stay away from Matrix Cellular. This is a fraud company. I have had the worst experience with them. They begin by blocking Rs 5000 on your credit card which means that there is no way we can stop payment even if the Bills are wrong. I received Bills which were clearly fraudulent. I was charged for Calls from an unknown number and each call was about 5 seconds. I discussed this matter with their local representative who agreed to my point that why would I have so many calls of just 5 seconds, makes no sense. I asked them to provide further proof like vice records, etc. But obviously they charged it on my card and now why will they be bothered. Customer Service in Matrix exists only till the day they block your credit card for Rs 5000 after that there is nothing like Customer Service. I suggest its better to buy Sim Cards in respective countries, its very easy...and in any case STAY AWAY FROM this service and don't give your credit card details under any circumstances.

I am Rajeev and I am genuinely sick of Matrix. Last week I went to Australia for 4 days on a business trip, and my bill was extremely inflated. I think that the money they spend on advertising is made by fleecing innocent customers like us. They are a bunch of robbers. I have had a relatively better experience with Clay Telecom - http://clay.co.in/landingpage.aspx . At least their bill was fine, and the network is great. I don’t know if they are the best, but they were better than Matrix. If anyone has had a similar experience, then do contact me at wanderlust.[protected]@gmail.com
I totally agree, Matrix is a fraud.They haven't returned my security of Rs15, 000.
