Spoke to them in Dec 2011 for furnishing my apartment in Thiruvanmiyur. Chezhian and Meenakshi are husband and wife who run this company. I gave them pictures of what I want done and he sent designs in Jan 2012 and I made 60% payment around Jan 15th 2012. They promised to finish everything in 10-15 days. I told them not to over promise and take a month and finish everything. All I needed was wardrobes for the 3 bedrooms and modular kitchen. They charged 3 lakhs for this and I didn’t bargain for anything except asked for good quality.
They did some work and asked for additional 30% payment which I did even though I was in the US. At the same time I also gave them another apartment to furnish a 2 bedroom for 2 lakhs and made 90% payment on this also.
After 100’s of phone calls which both of them ignored or if they picked up made false promises and numerous emails (I have all of them saved for further reference) I decided I can’t take it anymore. The apartment was ready and we had to move in, had to pay external people to at least finish the work so that I could move in. And this was in July 2012. A good 7 months after we started work. They promised to finish in 10-15 days.
I expect to fight this and see what happens but at least I want to warn people not to go with Mobest Interiors. A new house is a time for joy and these guys will make you wish you never bought the house.
