[Resolved] Sony Ericsson / W580i Mobile Phone — LCD display problem

Hi, I had purchsed a Sony Ericsson W580i phone around 1 year back at UniverCell Mobile phone at Jayanagar bangalore and after 6 months the phone started giving display problem (i.e. the LCD started showing lines and after few days it stopped displaying completely) and when I went to the SONY authorized service centre name: ASCENTEL, Commercial Street, Bangalore. Ph:[protected]/44 they told its becuase of the sweat the water could have gone inside and spoiled the LCD (the reason what they give has surprised me becuase we stay in a hot country and I think every one sweats) and told me as my phone was under warranty they will replace it completely without me paying any money. Now after 6 months of service I started facing the same problem again and when I went back to the service centre they said you warranty has expired and you need to pay Rs.1500/- for the phone to be get repiared. I also logged a complaint with SONY ERICSSON customer care no:[protected]my complaint no:SE[protected] for the POOR Quality of Service what SONY ERICSSON promises to their customers. I think there are other many who might be facing the same issue and wouldnt have come and made a complaint here. I think I should get justice... Was this information helpful? No (0) Yes (0)

Sony — w580i trouble

like...i bpught the new w580i piece . when i am connecting it to the computer..the system is retsarting automatically.. i am unable to figure out the problem..pls help me...in what ever mode i am using this phone(o[censored]SB) the system is getting restarted..and i am unable to completely access the memory card at all..

Sony Ericsson W580i — Issue with battery

Dear sir/Madam

I have purchased mobile W580i on dec18th2007.iam having warranty.problem with iam trying to swithch on the mobile it's not on.i have given mobile to service center in chenai Accel frontline Greams road.problem with battery.they were taking 3 days that time i asked to change battery they going for observe the battery. it's working fine for 10days.Now iam came to mubai for work.again my mobile is swithed off .i tried to on the mobile but it's not on.Why don't people replace the battery.sony ericsson mobiles very cost compare with other mobiles and other mobiles working fine.there monts back only i have taken mobile where can i go bcoz ,i don't carry mobile bills to mumbai.
sure i am not satisfication with sony ericsson mobiles.I need ur reply

on 18.03.08 but still i have not received my phone back

Sony Ericsson W580i cell phone — Display problem

Hello sir i got frustrated servicing the cell phone w580i. it got three services in last three
month and the reason is nothing. Its display gets blank by its own and some times its keys
stops working again by its own. I don't know that the problem is in manufacturing or the service
center does not work efficiently. and once again this time its display got blank. I got tired
of taking it to service center and the most biggest problem is they keep it over a month...
what is this?? did we make a mistake of purchasing the cell for 13000 rs. We are killing our valuable time and facing a lot of inconvenience just for nothing.

i had bought a mobile of this company on 30/5/08 from sony ericsson show room sahara ganj lucknow, within one and a half month it started malfunctioning it was not accepting any sim and was hanging .i took the matter to the concerned shop but he asked me to take it to service centre of the company i.e SALORA INTERNATIONAL LIMITED, suraj deep complex, 1st floor swatantra bharat campus, 16, rana pratap marg lko, their website is www.salora.com. i had submitted my mobile on 28/7/08 and they keep me running to their office every 5th day and still they have not delivered it .therefore i m bringing this matter to you, in their jobsheet it is mentoned that they will do their job in 14 days only .kindly look into this matter and help me.i would be thankfull to you

W58Oi — phone not working

I purchased a sony ericsson mobile phone, model no-W58Oi and within 45 days only it stopped working. I took it to sony ericsson service center- CARIANO TELECOM PVT. LTD., 4/1, Roop Nagar, Delhi-110007, but after asking weather it is in warranty period or not, they refused taking it for repairing. Then I booked complaints in customer care and finally the service center people took my mobile for repairing, but they never replied to my phone calls and visits for about 25 days. Then after that they said that they won’t be able to repair it.

Presently, my phone is in warranty period but still no one is ready to take any kind of action against it repairing. I have even booked complaints in the customer care but they also haven’t taken any step forward.

Sony Ericsson W580i — Problematic phone

I got one w580i in august and within one month a software problem arised followed by corrupted mem-stick. Then after two more months the left soft key broke by itself and the numeric key foil flattened. I strongly advise not to buy this phone. Very poor built quality.

Sony Ericsson W580i — Speaker problem

Dear Sir,

On dated 13.09.08 i have purchase a Sony Eriction W580i Handset.Then several tims i am suffring from speaker problem.Arround dec i suffered a speaker problem and submitted the handset to Eriction service centre. Last 21.03.09 again i have submitted the handset to VIDEO CARE, Kamal appartment canada corner, nasik.From last 22 days they are not abale to bring a speak spair part from their head office.Note that my hand set is under warenty period.

i agree too ... same Type of prob facing by me nw a days...i buy sony ericsson w580i last year 08-08-08 ...my display totaly spoiled ...first there are some lines shown on display bt aftr that totly gone..i go to service center in jalandhar ...they told me that it will b repair bt cost will b around 1500. really its feature are too good bt its quality s too bad

Even i faced the same problem.First few lines appeared and later screen became total black.I got it repaired paying 1500 but there is no warranty for this itseems.But this is not fair right.

I bought Sony Ericcson on 16/09/07. On 10/12/07 i gave for service for first time for ear phone noise problem.On 23/06/08 gave for service second time for mother board problem. Now again there is a problem in speaker. product is absolutely stupid.

Sony Ericsson W580i — Damaged phone sold to me

Mobile Store at Marol Andheri East(Bhawani Nagar) has sold me a phone whose battery is not genuine.The phone is made in the year 2008 and the battery was manufactured in 2007.Also the battery is not working fine.I can just make 2-3 calls and the battery gets over.Also the LCD display is slightly bent and tilted.When I am removing phone from usb it is getting switched off also.

I want my phone to either get replaced with a new one.

I had purchased Sony Ericsson W580i in May 2008 and I also faced LCD problem in Sony Ericsson W580i they said that there is neither physical demmage nor sweat the water and they will replace LCD.As my phone is within warranty period I have submitted my phone on 27th April 2009 at authorized service centre of Sony till date I have not received my phone.Though I have paid 10k for the phone, It is like I have been gifted the phone from Sony Company and I have been begging for my phone since last 15 days on their customer care service helpline.They have been delaying saying LCD part is not available in the company.I want to say if part is not available with the company then it is responsibility of the company to provide the alternate handset or replace it.

I am fed up and I am going to sue the complaint against Sony with Consumer protection act
