[Resolved]  Mpseb — Higher bill than units used

Since last two months the electricity bill is more than double than consumed. Last month May 2010, reading was conducted by MPEB (actual bill), but when the bill came they added 60 units extra to the original reading. Same thing has happened this month June 2010 also. The bill is based on meter reading by MPEB(actual bill) but in the bill extra 50 units have been added and billed. I have paid the last month bill as i didn't notice this thing. But when this month bill was also high i checked the bill thoroughly and found that MPEB is charging as they wish.
I thought that saving electricty is good thing for both money and elctricity itself, but if this is the result then, what is the use in saving elctricity. Its better to pay after using(wasting), than paying whithout using the electricity.
If I go and point out this thing to the concerned officials, they won't even listen. It's been years the MPEB's attitude is like this. Consumer has to pay, for there mistake. The only thing they will say is first deposit the bill, then talk. Once you pay the bill, the money is gone and it is never adusted in future bills.
Government should look into this matter, and save the people from so called monolpoly of MPSEB.
