Dear Consumer Complaints Forum, I had a very pathetic experience with MSRTC's service. I want to ask one question first. If a passenger fails to board in the bus at the place/stop mentioned on the reservation ticket, can he board in the bus at the next place/stop in the route of the bus? I had booked an E-ticket which has following details. Trip Number :M7932 Ticket Number :4703837 Transaction Id :MICI[protected] Service Start Place :PUNE RLY. STN. Service End Place :MIRAJ Passenger Boarding Point :SWARGATE, PUNE Passenger Alighting Point :MIRAJ Date of Journey :29/04/11 Age Adult/Child Gender Seat No Quota 27 A M 9 G Total Chargeable Amount : 245.92 Somehow i was unable to board the bus at Swargate, Pune. Hence I decided to board the bus at Katraj, Pune (Its the next stop after Swargate). On arrival of the bus at Katraj I board into the bus and showed my E-ticket to the conductor. Some other passenger was already sitting onto my booked seat. At first the conductor refused to accept my E-ticket saying this ticket is no more valid now as i had missed the boarding point mentioned in the ticket. He then asked me to get another ticket and asked me for the money. After argument he asked me to sit in the vacant seat at the back side and refused me to get up the person sitting at my booked seat. Hearing all this, the person was not ready to move from the seat. I had requested him to leave my booked seat but all went in vain as the conductor was speaking from his side. What one can do in such situation? In spite of having booked seat I had to travel with the unwanted/uncomfortable seat at the back side of the bus. I had physical and mental stress, all because of the wrong attitude of the bus conductor. Please tell me what the rule says? There is nothing mentioned regarding this situation on the E-ticket. I request you to please make a clause for this and mention the same on the ticket, so no one face the same situation in future and arguments between passenger and conductor could be avoided. Thanks.
