[Resolved]  MTNL Broadband — speed problem

I understand that the calculation of 256 kbps comes to under 30 kilobytes/second, however its very wrong to initially provide high speed, then suddenly cut it down. I had installed MTNL unlimited 256 on a temporary basis and was satisfied with the speed, which is why I cancelled other lines, now I cant get my work done because its hardly 25 kilobytes/second.

Even my previous MTNL connection, 590 NU, was 256 kbps and I got 200+ kilobytes/second. Now why would they give you higher speed than required there??

Techncialities are not the consumer's lookout, he chooses based on what he sees, and this is clearly malpractice.

I m facing the same problem since last month...my plan is 256 kbps unlimited bt i got only 15-20 kbps...i called the area manager but no action has been taken ... my no is 27293729

I have tiband combo unlimited plan having speed 256kbps but i m getting downloading speed just
18-22 kbps on downloading single item.I m facing this problem from 3-4 months. I can't see you-tube & other videos without pause. When I m seeing a video there is lots of buffering going-on all the time. Seeing videos with pauses is totally a time wastage. When a 15 Mb video takes 25 min. approx. then paying bill of Rs. 725 is a fulishness.
My friend cum neighbourer having same plan and same modem(MT-882) has broadband speed four times than me.He is happy and enjoying with his downloads because he has the power of speed.
I dont no what the problem is with my broadband connection & PORT.

Please take suitable steps to rectify my problem.

Its a depressing experience with MTNL broadband. I only wanted the contacts information's till PM and president with Ministry of telecom India. We need to teach them a lesion for the service. Damn...

There is a problem here. You will lose the case if you file a consumer petition. That is because MTNL advertises 256 kbps which is 256 Kilo BITS not KiloBYTES. and when you say that you are getting a speed of 30 Kbps download, you are talking of KiloBYTES and NOT KiloBITS. Theoretically, 256 kilobits/sec=32 KiloBYTES/sec so your speed is fine.
It is true that after around 2-3 months, every MTNL connection becomes slow but it is because in the beginning we get the speed of 2 MegaBITS which is equal to 256 KiloBYTES/sec but after some time it comes back to what it ACTUALLY should be.which is 256 KiloBITS or 32 KiloBYTES. So you all are getting what you are paying for

Kindly informed you that Internet connection not working for last one month I have follow up with MTNL Customer Care Services for daily basis but they don’t have provide the positive response, Also informed you we have already registered the complaint about this issue to MTNL CC. but they don’t have serious about below matter.

Also informed you that we have installed the New System with high configuration with Antivirus Installed, so that our sides don’t have any issue.
Such Kind of Issue Regarding Hardware Related:-

• DSL Modem Not Working.
• Straight Cable also breakdown.

So we are really thankful whenever you have take this responsibility & take some efforts for your side!!!

MTNL Broadband — INTERNET SPEED PROBLEM

Its been more than 1year that i am using MTNL Broadband at home...i took a plan which is called TribCOMBOUnlimited...with the download speed
of 256 Kbps... i got the speed and worked fine for me but from last 6 months my download speed reduced to 20Kbps only...I have complained no. of time...but still no action has been taken from MTNL yet...I am paying Rs.599 for the month & still not getting the speed...
Even their customer care guys dont have any resolution they just hang up the phone or give a other no. for Internet speed complaint and when i am call on it they also give a another no. that so at last no is not working ...
That is really a Bad services for costomer...

MTNL — not providing promised speed according to TRAI

i have done various speed test and speedtest.com at various times i get maximum of 350 kpbs...
my plan is 512 kpbs... according to the company MTNL they have given a note that according TRAI provider must provide 60 % more speed that is 800 kpbs which they are not they have also said the speed can go down by 15 %due to traffic that is 400 kpbs thi is also not been provided i have made 18 complaints to be preciese but nothing happened even after promised by them i can even provide screenshots and stuff...
for the first 10 days i got 900 kpbs now its down 200-350 kpbs depends on time ...

NOTE all speeds are in kpbs in KB i get max 30 KB/sec instead of promised 75 KB/sec according to TRAI 150 KB/sec and traffic 60 KB/sec none is fullfiled please take the necessary actions ...

mere pass MTNL ka broadband hai combo 256 unlimited plan. main pichle 8 mahine e ue kar raha hu karib 6 mahine iski spedd achi mili uske baad mere downloading speed 25 i ho gayi jike karan mujhe bhut problem ho rahi hai. Iske liye main High lavel tak complaint kar li par speed thik nahi hui. maine kam se kam 50 + complaint or email bhi ki par koi sunwai nhi hui hi abhi tak kahte hai thik ho gayi hai par nahi hoti...plz koi action le...
