[Resolved]  Nokia Care / Nokia N72 — Nokia Care wrongly charging.

Hello,

I am a regular user of Nokia from 2005 when I bought my first mobile N-gage, later I bought Nokia N72 in 2007. I have had many visits to Nokia Care in these years which all were quite satisfactory. All this had made me a promoter of Nokia but recently all those good things are being over shadowed by a bad incident.

-> Few weeks back my Nokia N72 screen started to have some lines and used to flickers some times.
-> As it was old phone I did not wanted to spend much money on it, I was waiting for C-6 to launch so that I could change my phone.
-> I went to Nokia Care (Mobile Care in BTM Layout 2nd Stage, Bangalore) to get it fixed for time being
-> I gave mobile there on Monday (20thSept2010), they told me like all other Nokia Care in India that they will check it, checking cost will be around Rs 350 and Rs 50 as the registration and if any new component will have to be put into it, they will call me ask (fair enough).
-> Then I got a call from Nokia care on Friday (24th Sept 2010), a girl was on other side. She told me that a new component has to be added in mobile and that will cost Rs. 450 more. I asked her will that fixed the problem? She said yes sir, we have to change display connector of the mobile. I said ok then do it. She then said that I can come and take mobile that day. I said I will come on Saturday (next day).
-> Next day when I went Nokia Care they handed me over mobile and I turned on the movie, it was still having lines on display. I showed the lady who was sitting on dispatched counter. She took mobile back inside and came after some time saying that “Sir its display has to be changed”. I Ask asked her how much will it cost it said Display will cost you Rs 1050 without tax. And I will have to pay whole sum of Rs 2050 for component they changed and for display.
-> I told the lady that why should I pay for the thing which have not solved the problem. I told her I am ready to pay for display but why for something which thinking will solve the problem but did not. See told me then I can take mobile in current state giving sum around Rs 800.
-> I told her that this is not right and I will not take mobile like this. They should have told me earlier only if I need to spend so much money.
-> Later I called Nokia Help Line number[protected], person who picked phone there told me that I should go to Nokia care and let them talk to Nokia Care representative.
-> I went back, this time there was a new person there (I suppose he is owner of that place). He talked to people on your help line; there were multiple calls from number [protected]. After those you’re Help Line people told me that I have to pay for money as the component they have change was a supporting component and also have to be changed.
-> Now that person in Nokia Care is telling, me that I have to pay Rs 2500 as display cost is Rs 1500 (check above, earlier they told me that display cost is Rs.1050), else I can take the mobile in current condition (which still has line and is still filtering) in sum around Rs 800.

My Question:
->Now tell me why I should pay for something that did not solve my problem.
->If you take your mobile to Nokia care because your mobile is not working and they told you that they have to change speaker then it will work, later when u come its not working and they now say that you have to change power button to make it work. And then ask you pay for speaker also and power button also, then how that is right.
->Even if they are saying true that other component needed to change to correct display then why did not they told me earlier on call, if would have told me that it would have cost Rs 2500 I would have told them not to fix it as I want to buy new phone.
-> And why does after my complain charge of display increase by Rs 500. Can you people tell me what is the correct cost of N72 display?
->Now I have two option either I take my phone is old state given RS 800 (I was told that this will solve the problem that’s why I agreed) or I gave Rs 2500 for both display and component which does not fix my problem.

This whole issue has caused me much metal problem. I feel like I have been made fool by Nokia Care and I have to spend so much money just to get my mobile back...
I am ready to take my mobile back in condition I was before, they can take out the component they put.
