[Resolved] Nokia N8 — Handset giving problem within 24 hours | |||
I bought Nokia N 8, a set worth Rs. 24,000 which started giving problems within 24 hours. It started hanging and Ovi applications got deleted automatically. It was restored within 24 hours by the priority dealer although they could have given me replacement. I got to know later that nokia has the policy of replacement if set gives problem within 48 hours. Problems recurred within few days again and I approached Nokia priority Dealer (I could not go to Nokia Care point as the list is not available on Nokia Site). He redirected me to Nokia Carepoint nearby. executives at Nokia Care point updated the software and said that it was a new version. I got to know later that no new version of N8 is available. Therefore, i could not trust that care point. Also, he gave assurance that if problem recurs again, a replacement will be given. As the problem occured again the next day I approached the care point but the executive went back on his word and asked to keep the cell under observation for 7 days. My question is If a set gives problem within 24 hours, it has a manufacturing defect. Then why is the customer suffering? If I give my set for repair then whats the purpose of buying such an expensive set. Neither it is new any more nor it is defect free. I have contacted customer care several times and spend lot of money in talking to them too. But no solution was given to me, they are adamant on giving the set for repair.
