Oriental Insurance Company Limited — Claim no. 242100/31/2009/000207‏

I received a letter from DO, Ajmer, stating that you are not eligible to get your Motorcycle theft insurance claim as there is a much time delay of more than 48 hours to inform about the theft of the Motorcycle.

It is pleased to bring under your kind consideration that I had made an insurance policy for my motorcycle {Policy no. 2008/6951} on dated Mar 17, 08. I got my Motorcycle stolen on dated July 27, 08, which was directly informed to Police station "Vidhayakpuri Thana", My Motorcycle stolen from parking area of Sangam Tower, Church Road, Jaipur 302001. The same is recorded in the wireless message log book of Vidhayakpuri Police station. I had already submitted all required papers which were necessary to get the claim. Mr Anil Kumar {Field Investigator, Jaipur} had followed up with me for getting all the necessary statements and documents.
After that I submitted original papers of my Motorcycle to your Divisional Office at Ajmer location because I had made my Motorcycle insured from Ajmer.
After a long time of about 5 months, Mr Rao {DM, AJmer} is denying to clear my claimed amount as he is stating that the Motorcycle theft information was not informed to them within 48 hours of theft as this is a regulation for these type of cases. My policy is not covered under this regulation as this policy was insured before that regulation came in effect. I have already provided each and every statements/Papers/documents for the claim.
