Passport — Delay and Lack of Willingness | |||
Dear Sir, I had applied for a re-issue of my passport in June 2012. I haven't received my new passport yet. Both the online tracker and customer care were providing me with wrong status information. They were telling me that it was pending for police verification. Finally tired of not seeing any progress I checked this at the police commissioner's office in November 2012 and learnt that they had forwarded my case to the Passport office on July 27th. They have even provided me the docket number. This was sitting at the passport office for almost 4 months and neither was there any intimation about this nor did the tracker/customer care reveal that the case was currently with the passport office. I approached the passport office in November and learnt that my police verification was negative. Actually at the time of applying the passport I stayed for only 11+ months in that house and since it was not 12 months as mentioned in my passport application my case was put on hold. As advised by the additional passport officer I had applied for a re-verification so that my passport could be dispatched after due diligence. Now its been over 8 months since I had initially applied for passport and over 1.5 years since I have been staying at the same residence. I haven't still received my passport yet. I work in IT field and getting an overseas assignment does not happen frequently. I have lost two opportunities during this period as I did not have a passport. This has affected me a lot. Initially I did not want to do this through an agent, but after 8 months of wait, I approached several passport agents most of them chickened out and some of them told that I should re-apply for the passport and it would take another 3 months for the process to complete. I'd like to know if I could get back my old passport so that I could apply for a re-issue of passport from my home town. Sir, I farzana Banu applied for passport on 30-06-08. police verification was done on 03-08-08, im a married woman and my husband stays in Saudi Arabia due to his health problem im in urgent need to go saudi. im in need of passport which is pending in your office im roaming to ur office past 20 days, but no one is allowing to enter in your office. my details: file no: w254228, dispatch no. 290/IP/VC/SB/CYB/08, Sl.no.15.
