I am Renu Arora D/O Ravinder Kumar Arora R/O V.P.O Pattar Kalan. I want to lodge a complaint against police man named IQBAL SINGH, JALANDHAR who was asking for bribe of Rs. 500 from me on non wearing of Helmet at BMC Chowk JALANDHAR on 3rd September 2010. I was asking him to cut the chalaan but but he was not ready. When I told him that I will file a complaint He started threatening me time & again that he will ask other police people to become vitness that He didnt ask for any bribe.Only after a long & heated argument & forcing by me he cut the chalaan of mine when I called some people from my office & friend circle as witness so that they can support me againt the harassment by IQBAL SINGH.I request you to consider this issue seroiusly & take an action so that they can not play with the Indian system to avoid furthur corruption. I hope Government will support me in this regard.

I have applied for passport renewal under tatkaal scheme. I submitted all last one yr residence proofs to regional passport office. now I have got my passport.
But recently police has called me to police station for verification. He asked to bring one address proof and passport xerox. When i reached police station he said he wants all last years address proofs. He said whatever proof you gave are to passport office this is needed for him.

My questions are :
1. I would like to know the process. No where it is mentioned what is the meaning of the police verification and what all document they can ask? I asked to passport help desk as well but didn't receive any help regarding valid docs police man can ask for.
2. i gave my neighbors name, what is the use of that. Police man shouldn't he come to my house and confirm from my neighbor about my stay.
3. If even after producing all doc he can say these are not complete. Because documents he is asking verbally there is not written authenticated list of doc mentioned some where. If he make me run again then what shall i do. Where should i contact. Who is there to help normal people.
4. Even after giving all the doc if Policeman reject my verification then what is the next step. what is the process, who can help me? I'm not very big person not have any big contacts.

And i feel police man is creating advantage of that and make you run and try to make the money. We are busy hard working people. We have family and work responsibility. We pay our all taxes and government should take care by making our life easier. We deserve to live happy life in this country. That is the reason i don't like to pay the bribe as well.

Please suggest what should i do?

Same thing happen with me before 3year, Police asked for money when I argue then told me this is for lots of process which we did for you and seniors also want same. and Then is took more money as compare with my colleague because I argue... Even in may government departments same case there..We can purchase most of government servant with money in India. .

india is like that. we pay taxes. taxes are most high compared to even western countries and in return govenment is not giving right infrastructure. they don't have control on themselves and on their officials.
What is difference in a greedy dog and a Official?
These people are making one billion poeple down. due to this western countries still see us as poor, greedy, uneducated. they are making whole country down and our government instead of teaching lesson to these officials they themselves are busy in eating the money.

My self Rajesh Badmalia Recently i'm selected for Government job but Actually before one year there was a chapter case is on me, so should i get any difficulty in joining job or in a Police Verification report? Please help me.

Yesterday (wed. 14th sep 2011) i get call from waraje police station pune for passport verification for my 2 yrs daughter. They call me at 10am, so i reached at 9:45 am. I went with my daughter and husband. As usual habit of indian police, they came at 11 am. Police who dont have importance of time. And taking responsibility of indian citizen, who dont have time importance. They start verifiacation, till 1:15pm only 3 people enquiry had done because inside office they are completing enquiry of a people who had paid them extra money which was illegal.

At 1:30 inspector come to us and tell us come at 3pm for enquiry. Beacuse they were have to take lunch. We said ok.

Then we reached at 2:30pm before time and inspector came at 4:15 pm. Normally he had taken lunch break for 3 hrs. In 8 hrs duty, he is coming at 11 and also taking 3 hrs break. STrange situation how u r responsible police.


Atlast they call me inside for verification, i had given all details also submitted all the documents which they told me on phone to bring. Then female police told to wait for 20 min, while there sir will came. I said ok.

After 20 min her sir male inspector came. He ask me did u submit all document i said yes. Then he call me in corner and ask for money for enquiry procedure to pass further.
I refused and said i will not give u single money, then he said we have to came to ur home for passport enquiry . I said anytime u can come for enquiry. Then he become very rude . And ask me for extra document which he had not mention in phone. Then also i said fine i will give u those document but i will not give u single money.

Inside police station i saw police were getting call in his cell regarding passport enquiry. He is telling them to come at 10 he will try to complete there verifiacation very fast in morning.

I roughly calculate his overtime income, nearly 5000 Rs he is getting daily. He is earning more then his salary.

Its shame on police, what type of police were in India. Curruption start from police.

I decided i will not pay that police for passport enquiry. Tomorrow i will go with the document he had ask me extra. If said anything i will complaint regarding that police .

We have to stop this curruption. We all are responsible for this curruption. Please stop to give bribe to police . Go in positive way.

I think all government office should have one register/ laptop or website to submit report about your arival, purpose of visit. that should be as proof you came to office on time with what all required doc. And if a police office not work on your request you can mark bad or not happy. & in that case senior officer has to take action if he not able to police central office has to take action against senior officia;l. If results are bad i police comissoner should be fired from the job. He is the huy suppsoe to keep discipline and if not he should be fired. We india need efficeint officers not junk useless people.
I don't understadn Anna fight how much it will benefit. It has to be from top and bottom. Every government office should have template of no bribe and incase some body ask or not do your job, there should be number to file the complain. so everything has to become online. Otherwise no body can save india. India need to awake to grow in world. world is going very fast we are still not able to fix internal problems. we have to take fast action and move fast. Congresss govt is not succeed in this. we reaklly need very good leadership. Manmohan is just talk he not showing any action against corruption. I don't think congress will do anything good for people of india.

I don't know when this situation will change in India.
My wife applied for passport 2 months back. Its still under police verification

It took 2 weeks to reach the designated police station ie Avalahali police station in KR Puram
It took another 3 days to fix appointment to see the face of the police officer in police station

(Actually we need not even go to the police station, police should come to our home and verify and go)

Once it is reached, the police started asking documents which even the passport office didn't ask. (I don't understand why police asking for documents. The police only need to verify whether the person resides in the same address as per the given documents )

Even after giving, the police again asking to get the reference person's id proof and signature, which is actually the duty of the police.

After that, they asked for money for faster proceedings

Again to give the reference person's ID proof and signature on a paper written in Kannada, the officer asked come at 10 AM, when we were at police station, he was not there and not picking the phone. the whole day we waited there, but he didn't turn up

To whom and where we can log complaint against such irresponsible, lusty police personals in Bangalore.

Who will save India

Corruption starts from police.. i am visiting police station since 5 days, still enquery not finished...that police man asking money, i told cant give that much..so he makes me to wait for 3 hours, later he says tmw i will come...that police not asking money directly, he told buy stamp for 500rs...

my passp[ort formalty was fully completed but police verification is not complete. becoz police & juditiction authorithy was said u r not my know. then how can i am verified ur form. so u can go.

Police need 300 for all passport verification from everyone.

I would like to make this clear:
I spoke with SSP Ferozepur Hardial Singh Maan over the phone. SSP Saab said that there is no way the police station can keep the verification for more than 7 days. If they do, there will be action on them. And also they cannot send a negative verification other than for 3 reason; serious case pending, "desh darohi" or wanted. So therefore, SSP suggested me to make people aware not to pay the officers and instead just let the time pass and if the verification is not sent, complain to the SSP office. If they send a negative verification, it will have severe consequences on the SHO.

I wife is from kolkata and had applied for passport. Now she has been called for police verification and the police is asking for Rs. 3000/-
The police station is from Dum Dum police station.
How should we handle this?
We have submitted all documents but he just says come tomorrow or pay atleast 1000 Rs.
