[Resolved] QI Group — Bogus scam | |||
Another bogus multi level marketing scam introducing Qi Group's e-commerce based business model...had the opportunity of being introduced to the workings of this virtual enterprise...the second quickest route to becoming a crorepati after KBC of course...ek lakh do phir teen-char saal tak logon ko topi pehnao aur crorepati bano...the common thread tying these pple together is they're all frustrated in their jobs - overworked n underpaid (most of them come from media/advertising backgrounds n understandably so)...they're all looking for a way out, an escape route...a way to earn a quick buck...well so the pitch started by them asking me what I do in life their trap was aimed at getting out of me how frustrating my current job was & then pitching to me this brilliant foolproof crorepati route...so I was curious I said I like to try out new things currently I'm in the midst of things n haven't figured anything out fr myself...so it seemed to them that I was a good bakra...they went on with ratta rattaya gyan like the company was started by some few economists n it was named in Forbes as the fastest growing company none of which I found on Google as true in fact it is owned by an Indian born Malaysian businessman who there are reports has been sought after by the Interpol...then they went on to speak of products the company deals in which they claim are amazing Five Star Resort Stays at throw away prices...some water enhancing system that works like magic n pple can stay awake fr like 36 hours it also helps diabetics in sme way nt sure...I'm nt saying this is true or false point is it sounds too good to be true n until u try it u won't know...point is this system works like Amway only it is virtual so even though I was given links to check out their products if I want to buy something I can only buy it via someone who's registered with it...also these links don't mention the price so how do I decide whether I even want to buy something without all the information...in effect I have to meet this person who's registered tell him/her to show me the product with the prices then decide...so if someone needs to invest so much time into one customer purchasing how is it economical n isn't e-commerce supposed to b an economical model...well in a way it is economical as the company owners don't pay these guys anything to acquire customers...they do get some commission for every person who signs up / buys anything from the site though but nothing fr spending time on those who turn u down... so it's like ur own business they tell u it's better than owning a restaurant or a pan tapri as u won't have to work for 8 hours u can work wen u like while vacationing or while sitting in a coffee shop as obviously they have no office so for the initial capital u invest which is anything in between 1 to 6 lakhs (there is a 40K wala option also but it is not mentioned/ recommended by the experts- commission kum hoga) u can start ur own virtual enterprise (WOW)...then u have to get 2 more people under you directly so u have to go out there talk to friends/family/colleagues n whoever's stupid enough to invest at least 1 lakh each for joining...then similarly as u became bakra u have to make these pple bakra in turn they'll bakra 2 more pple each so totally 50 pple have to bcme bakra fr me to even recover my one lakh...I can't even calculate 3 crores ke liye kitne topi pehnane honge...n trust me i[censored] happen to meet any of these jokers u'll realize hw none of them have even counted a crore rupees even while playing monopoly bt here they are selling short cut schemes to get there...itne saal amway karke kitne log crorepati bane...think bout it! Even I have come across this QI. I donn understand how people would be so easily convinced wen people ask them to stop their studies and their present job to take up this business. If it is so easy to earn money, why should people run behind IITs and IIMs for degrees.. Just think of it. if you are really earning something with this business, how would you be able to tell that you are doing such a business. Why do you think people should get into research, defence, civil services etc if you are earning crores of money with this business. And the funniest thing that I've observed is that there is some upper limit to earn.. Is'nt it a silly point.???
And these people justify that their company is so gr8 that MICROSOFT has given some cirtificate bla bla .. if it is such a gr8 company why dinn Bilgates start doin this chain marketing..??

Infact I see people running the Corporate Drudgery day in and out. The question is are you guys really satisfied and happy? I mean does the salary of a certain amount can sustain you & your family in times of emergencies.
The truth is that to make it big; atleast in India, its either Movies, Politics, Crime or being a rich Heir... If not, do u think all of you could ever touch the 1 Cr figure and still have time to yourself. And to simplify it even further, Direct Selling companies just cut down the MAD Costs (Marketing, Advertising, Distribution) associated with their products, and rather this cost comes to the Seller (or the user) in such schemes.
And as for Mr. Vijay Eshwaran, he is there in Malaysia, and you guys can definitely have a cup of coffee with him and ask him your queries, to which most of the DREAMERS believe that he would answer every query with a smile.
Left to joining QNET, I guess you guys are somewhere deep inside your heads like that Eagle who grew up with the Chickens never knowing that even you could fly. Sometimes good things are actually true. If you travel on a very bad and bumpy road everyday because some local corporator steals the Govt. money instead o[censored]sing it to repair the roads, dosen't mean that the road can never be repaired.
Just walk out of yourselves and look at yourselves, QNET would'nt seem so bad.

It's so lame that people have been making a personal attack on me just because I have an opinion on their business model that they are trying hard to brainwash everyone with...honestly I don't care you'll can go on about this I am just stating my opinion because I know very well how you'll function & if I can help some naive souls from falling in your trap I will try to do so...also taking out time & effort to find out where I got my degree from & where I work is truly complimenting- & trust me I have every reason to be proud to be working in one what has been named the most employee friendly company in the country & which any MBA graduate would give an arm & a leg to work in...neway no point bragging in front of people who are involved in MLM scams...just hope the one's who aren't involved in this have the sense to stay away

Afrer reading all above i have few questions:
The whole things is about money.
1. Am i getting the worth of money what i am paying for a product or a membership which comes by paying for certain products.
2. Company selling products which newly invented or branded. How i know if it really worth it becuase you don't have a similar product in market to compare it.
4. I am ready to buy a ROLAX which have a market price USD 5000. But if i buy from IQ or so called other MLM companies at a cost o[censored]SD 4500 along with memebership, I am more then happy and might i generate many client/partners for them.
The only point is the product which any of these company offers should have low velue then the market price of that product. for example i have a membership for Wholesale division of walmart in india called "best price". Being a member i am getting almost 20% less then market price. So i buy from them, if they have a policy that i make more memebers for them and they will pay commisions to me against that i would creast thousands of members and earn a lot of money.
Now, which company have this kind of membership. Call me and get the deal "nine eight one foure two four eight one eight zero" in india.

I cant help laughing !!! The scheme is not a get rich easy scheme..it requires a lot of hardwork . Second, yes not everyone succeeds - you need to have the will and the skill.

I'd have believed in QI group if they had a real product to back themselves up. Look at AMWAY, they at least have world class products to show and the R&D behind it. Not comparing AMWAY with QI so pls dont start jotting down the differences between the two!

1. If QI thinks their products are so magical, why dont they advertise it openly in the media? Show TV adds, newspaper adverts? They'll brag about some communication company in XYZ company which is supposedly a sister concern (?!) and not about what they're selling here ?
2. Advertise your model openly in TV adds etc ? Im sure if your truthful, it will definitely add up to your network? Why operate in a hush hush manner ? Let people join your openly?
3. Also, kindly tell us if QI is a registered Pvt. Ltd or a LLP firm or a section 25 firm ? Also, do you share the company balance sheet with your so called dummy partners?
4. I will not deny that your model does not fetch returns. Its a pure commission based system in my opinion, if not do you invest money elsewhere to drive profits? If yes, what if there are losses?
5. You talk about delayed gratification, if I as a dummy partner choose to have regular income directly proportional to the sales that I'm driving, would you agree to that?
6. Why do you pay money through some Vigyan (or something like that) software ????? What does a software company got anything to do with it???
7. Are you actively operating in US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Japan also ? If yes, what are the revenues like ?
8. Why do you mostly operate in developing countries like Indonesia, India, Egypt???
9. Why does QI group keep changing names after every few years??? Is there a guarantee that it wont for the next 3 years?
10. Do you tell your partners, how much do the people higher up the chain are earning due to their efforts?
These are some of the questions I have in mind that I'd like the proponents of QI group to answer. Plz dont ask me to meet up some senior in person somewhere or attend some seminar!
Be open about it atleast now if you know the answers and if your so called journey has been so great!
I think the biggest drawback are your products, had you been manufacturing a BMW yourselves, I'd be the first person getting linked to you.
I think the whole concept just thrives on the loss of one another. Out of 10 people, 8 will not do the so called 'Hard work' i.e. fooling others into it and they'll be at a loss. They'll spend 1 lac rupees buying some products worth 5k in reality and the rest 95K will be eaten up by others. This person may even get 20 others to buy products but still will not be able to reap the benefits because 20 is still a small number to mandate a bonus payout! Where as 2 out of 10 who started this will enjoy and buy BMW's etc etc. So, this business will thrive no doubt but with majority losing out and minority earning money and a day will come when it will go bust because they dont have a world beating product that people will queue up for buying.
I'd suggest budding entrepreneurs to invest their time in something more real and productive. This is like being a property dealer, what's the need for IIM degrees! haha

I also met same people today, and attended 3hrs lecture on the same. conclusion of the meeting was that i have to invest 1 lac initially but how will i get return of that nobody can justify.

kccccllllll: If you need an answer, all you need to do is ask the right person. A wrong person does not make the industry wrong. You want to know what happens to the 1 lac? And you want to know how you get returns. Let me explain it to you in layman terms.
Let us assume you go to a TV showroom to buy your favorite TV. The dealer gives you two options.
Option 1: Pay for the TV, pick up the product and you can leave having your product.
Option 2: Pay for the TV, pick up your TV. You have also an option to start your own business of a TV showroom (free of cost). The only investment was what you paid for the TV. You get profits when more customers come to the showroom you own and more TV sales happen.
QNET option is option 2. The only difference being, you don't have the headache of opening a showroom (and all the attached overheads such as infrastructure, labor, rents and blah blah blah). You are saving money as you are getting an e-store free of cost (in India).
Coming to the question of what work is actually involved. Ask the same question to Mr. Azim Premji and see if you get any difference response. Or ask yourself the question "what are the activities you need to do when you are the chairman or CEO of your organization"? Can you explain it to a layman in 10 minutes or will you ask him to become a CEO and experience it?
Why should we be any different? Please understand. We are not talking about doing a job which puts down your monthly and yearly activities and has an appraisal at the year end stating you did certain activities and you achieved certain targets.

1) This one will be a long one. The whole point of QI group is not to "advertise". Do you understand the concept of "direct selling"? Also, you may not know how traditional supply chain works (I am a supply chain manager, so ask me). Direct selling is the 21st century form of supply chain (I won't go into technicalities. But you can definitely look up a supply chain management text book as to how traditional SCM works). If you understand that, you will understand why direct selling is better (it is already established by tycoons such as Warren Buffet. Read about his company Berkshire Hathaway).
We don't think our products are magical. We just think that they are practical. Why we talk about our subsidiaries? The same reason why you know about the brands Dettol and Strepsils, and not its manufacturer (have you heard of Reckitt Benckiser and do you know that most of your FMCG products comes from them)? Because, we want our customers to know the brand and not necessarily the group which owns it.
2) You really think Amway advertises its products? I have friends in Amway and trust me, Amway is the father of the concept of what we are into. You really think Amazon.com advertises its products and services? And if we started advertising, the whole concept of direct selling is killed. If you want to be aware of the brand, we definitely do that kind of brand awareness. We have Muthaiah Muralitharan and Pierce Brosnon as our brand ambassadors (if you didn't know, Pierce Brosnon is the brand ambassador for our watch brand). We are also the official partners of Sir Richard Branson's (the owner of Virgin group) F1 racing team. We sponsored the recent international Tennis tournament in Bangalore and we were also the official partners for the Brazilian soccer team (all you can verify. There is nothing hidden in that). I think those should be sufficient for brand awareness.
3) QI group is a legally registered company (it is registered in Hong Kong and under various country DSA). They are also registered in India under the name Vihaan Direct Selling (India) Pvt Ltd. That is the Indian subsidiary.
4) Obviously, it is practical for a $2.5 billion company to take practical steps (would you think otherwise)? What will you do knowing about losses? Will you work with a company seeing its profits or losses?

The whole point of e-commerce is that you get products cheaper than you get outside.

For people who are nay sayers. A few points you should note down.
1) Different people and teams in our organization work in different ways. If you have a bad experience with one of them, please don't count that the company is bad. Just because one person from Infosys is bad, the entire organization is bad. There may be people doing business with ignorance. Today, I went to Costa to meet one of these so called senior leader. One of their representative (my known) told me wear formals as the senior leader is very particular about it. I did that on a Sunday while she was in purely casuals. :D
My only questions is if she is earning 4.7 lacs per week then she would have the courtesy to pay our meeting bill at costa of only Rs. 450. I was amazed.
She walked away without even letting us know that if she will pay for it. Is she really earning these crores.? :D I am not questioning on this company but I have question on these Senior Leaders.

If you see everyones experiences its pretty much the same – meeting at coffee shops, explaining how to become a crorepati (like yeah- everyone wants to be a crorepati- nothing more, nothing less!), immediate cash lumpsum investment with no business model clarity, etc. Infosys also has bad apples but then we know about the company – so you would trust the company more than the person who is bad mouthing it. In the case of QI, no such credibility exists, so you have to judge by meeting the company “partner”. Atleast acknowledge you have cheats in QI along with sane, intelligent people like you.
2) The doubts have been put in this forum but instead of getting sane replies, we get stuff like “u don’t know what you are missing, keeping working like slaves” etc. Hardly sane what say?
Special mention of sane reply by BhayanakCA..err I mean VinayakCA. This rotten apple’s objective is to only bulldoze everything others say by abusive & foul language & disrespect women.
