[Resolved]  Reliance Telecommunications — Asking for bill payments even though service is cancelled

Sir/ Madam,
My name is Bhavil Jain and I had been using the Reliance Broadband services since 1 year.
My Reliance Internet Service User ID is[protected].
Till mid-May 2011, the service was superb and I have paid all the bills on time without delaying even for a single time! I was getting great service so I paid for that service. As simple as that.

But on 1st of June, the ADP was taken off from my area, i.e., Chandkheda, Ahmedabad, without even informing me! I had already started facing little problems by the end of May anyway, so I had started complaining in the customer care of Reliance Telecom. And once the ADP was taken off, the net was obviously not working. And as I was not informed about it, I kept on complaining in the customer care, kept on calling them, as if I don’t have anything else to do!

Finally after visiting their head office 2-3 times (please note:-the head office is on C.G. Road which is 20 kms away from my residence), I got the answer that the ADP in my area has been removed. When I asked them the reason, they told me that I was the only Reliance subscriber in this area and so maintaining an ADP just for one subscriber was getting too costly for them! Then why do these people keep coming to our homes and insist us on taking their services when they cannot even afford an ADP??? There is a thing called COMMITMENT to a customer!
At least they should’ve informed me that they are removing the ADP!
But no! They wanted me to loiter around here and there to find out why my internet is not working!

Left with no other choice, I made a termination order on 13th of June. AND I WAS DECENT ENOUGH TO PAY THE PRO-RATA CHARGES FOR INTERNET USAGE TILL THE 31st of MAY, 2011!!! I will never let a service go unpaid. But I will never pay for NOTHING!
I called customer care to cancel my services and stop charging my account. They said they will revert back to me, but they didn’t. I kept calling but they never called back. Even I left the whole case then. If they aren’t bothering, why should I bother? And obviously if there is no ADP, then how can they charge me? NO ONE SENDS A BILL FOR NO-SERVICE- it is BASIC LOGIC! Which I don’t think people at Reliance understand, because I still used to get bills from them! For what???? For the services of another company, that I am using, right now?
I even called the customer care centre when I received the 1st bill after the termination, i.e., the bill for June, 2011. How is that possible! When I didn’t get any service, when I have cancelled the subscription, then what are they charging me for? There is no ADP set up in my area, then how am I getting service?!
Lately, again, I have been getting calls from their side. They are asking me to pay the bills due. I have paid my bills regularly for the period when the service was available. Now I am using the service of another company and I am paying their bills regularly. Why should I pay Reliance bills!??!?
If you go to the reliance broadband site and enter my user ID, it will say “ID SUSPENDED” then what are those bills for??? I am not getting any service whatsoever! On top of that, they are asking me the complaint no. of the termination I had filed. Reliance, one of the biggest companies in India, is so incompetent that they can’t even keep a track of the subscriptions that they should cancel when they rip-off an ADP?
When a company removes an ADP, it removes all the subscriptions attached to that ADP. How hard it is for the reliance company people to comprehend such a simple thing?
And the way their employees talk on the phone! They are now threatening me to take this issue on a legal level. What rubbish! THREATS??? That low Reliance has gone down to? A company so huge, and this is way they mint money out of people?

Now should I get police protection? Because hearing such threats on the phone, that too from RELIANCE, I am worried for my safety!
I am an Indian citizen, the rules that apply to you, the same rules apply to me and to the company.
And I am human too, the same logic runs by my head as Anil Ambani’s.
So tell me, why would you pay for a service that you are not even getting? Or is a new invisible-non-functional service by Reliance that they are charging me for?
And please answer one question for me: Unless I am God himself, how on earth can I be using their service, IF THERE IS NO ADP IN MY AREA?

Please save people from Reliance and its money making strategies.
