The application was filed in Aug, and the police verification was done in September.
Repeated enquiries in the police thana said that the files were sent to RPO , kolkata in September.

Since last 2 months there has been no update on this in the status page, which says pending police verification in thana.

Note that, enquires in rpo , kolkata gives no information, other than "You have to wait minimum 6 months for a passport , and you have filed it only 4 months ago" . This is very rude reply for a person who is 75 years old and travelled 200 kms to get information of the status.

RPO Kolkata has the worst service I have ever seen in India, it happened with my wife's passport also.
The passport application was lost after police verification and it was not found for more than half a year, It took 9 months for issuing a passport after bribing the officials to search for the application through an agent.

is this the only way, RPO kolkata works ?
