[Resolved]  State Bank of India — INTer City Charges

Today ,23-02-10,I have deposited 1500 Rs in SBI Greater Noida Branch but i have my account in SBI Roorkie Branch ,after depositing i found that sbi charged Rs. 25 as a inter city charges....
what was that??
I mean being a PSU and India's largest bank ,one can not expect from sbi....
I Have 4 Family a/c in SBI but now I have to rethink over it....
think to say goodbye to SBI.....

i have an account in sbi lucknow.all cbs branches were giving facility to deposit rupees 25000 in a day earlier without any charges .but now they are deducting intercity charges without any prior information.

what is inter city charge in sbi.please describe me.

I have an account in sbi chennai Tidel park branch(Salary Account) and deposited money of 5k in palani branch sbi. They deducted Rs.50 as Intercity charges without prior information. This is really bad for such a big bank which has network allover the country... They should reverse the charges for even depositing money in the bank... Not fair

Yes I completely agree with the above people.Even I was charged 25rs for intercity deposits.
Being the biggest bank in India, these kind of things are not good for its reputation.

SBI-Please consider this issue.

My account is with SBI Dindori MP .One of my friends have deposit Rs 2000/- to my account no. [protected] at SBI Dindori, Dindori on 19th oct, 2010. But the bank have deducted Rs 25/- from my account as an inter city charges but where as both the branches of SBI are in Dindori itself.

I want to enquire, how they can debit intercity charge when it is within same city. I want refund of that money as soon as possible.

IT IS ABSOLUTULELY WRONG.
PNB ALSO PROVIDES THIS FACILITY FREEOF COST.

today I got shock from SBI by this inter city charges, while I opened a fixed deposit from other branch. I told them to transfer money from saving account to FD. so I just have opened a FD from my saving account money but still they have charged me inter city charges. this is fraud. they have deducted inter city charges rs 150/- from my account but they havent informed me while opening FD that they will charge me this much amount if I will open fixed deposit from other branch. this is really rediculous to deduct money without informing a customer. this is not expected from a reputed bank like SBI. this is not case with ICICI bank. I can deposit money anywhere in this ICICI account they cant apply inter city charges for that. how the norms are changing for each bank :(.

I have an account in SBI Ranjhi, Jabalpur Branch( A/c [protected]) and deposited money of `. 18, 000.00 in SBI Personal Banking Civil Line Branch, Jabalpur. They deducted `. 38.00 as Inter city charges without prior information. This is really bad for such a big bank which has network allover the country... Why the State bank of india is taking INTER CITY CHARGES for depost money to account in non home branch. My friend deposited money at S.B.I. same branch Rs.2000/[protected] and inter city charges Rs. 25/-.
. Sir i only want to enquire, is there any charges of depositing amount in same bank through other branch of SBI INDIA.

I Deposited money From other Than My Holding Branch Which Located in The Same City. So What Means Inter City Charges ?
And Second Thing is If Bank Deducts Such An Amount Without Prior Information Then What Means SBI Calls Itself As A Core Banking ? How Does He Calls Himself As A networked Branching Bank ?
This Really Affects The Reputation, Position And Goodwill of Such A Nationalized Bank...

As per as I know STATE BANK OF INDIA is holding a very good reputation all over the country.But the INTERCITY CHARGE that they have implemented is really ridiculous. Then what is the meaning of CORE BANKING. They call themselves as a Networked Branching Bank. But they have implemented the intercity charges without any kind of prior intimation. I just wanted to ask 'Is this the way to treat with their Customers'.? They should keep in mind that Because o[censored]s(Public) they are able to run the Bank.

I have an SBI Salary account in Hubli main Branch, mean while I transferred to Gulbarga, and In Gulbarga i draw my salary through the Hubli SBI Account, but the Gulbarga SBI branch deducted Rs. 30 to 40 every month from my salary in the name of Inter city charges. That is not fair, first thing, my account is a salary account, and second thing is SBI Provide Core banking, than what is the meaning of Intercity charges. I think, This is not in the interest of bank and Bank will lose its reputation.

I have an NRO account where rent of a flat is deposited by my tenant in an SBI branch near the flat. I just realised I have been charged INTER CITY CHARGES every month. If SBI does not change this policy, I plan to close the account and open elsewhere.

ICICI Bank and Punjab National Banks are provide this Fecility Free of Cost.SBI Bank call themselves as a Fully Networked Branching Bank. But they have implemented the intercity charges without any kind of prior intimation. just i want to Know how the norms are changing for each bank.
They should keep in mind that Because of Public they are able to run the Bank. so they need to think Before Impliment of such charges.

I agree with the views of persons who are against the inter city charges. SBI, so called a reputed bank has put this absolutely unnecessary load on customers. It is absolutely wrong.There are others banks also. They are not doing such shameful thing.
