[Resolved] State Bank of India — Credit Card Payment Fraud | |
Hello, I was an SBI Credit Card Customer. My Credit Card Number was "[protected]". I made a payment of 91, 000/- on 20th May 2008. The cheque number for thesame was 338946. I got the confirmation from SBI Card department that they received the cheque. However they did not forward this cheque to my bank for clerance. The reason I got for the first time on IVR (If SBI is recording their IVR calls, they should be able to get the details) that the cheque was bounced due to alteration. However they never gave me the original cheque which was altered. When inquired they gave me the xerox copy of my cheque and I could not find any alterations (And there was a signature where altered) After several escalations I got the message which is attached below and also as attachment. I was told by SBICard that since there was an alteration the cheque was not sent to the bank for clearance. SBICard is now charging me a late payment fees and charging interests over the same for the last 1 year. I think this is a complete dishonest approach from SBICards. The cheque whether it is correct or wrong has to be forwarded to the my bank. I was ready to pay the late payment fees provided SBICard gave me the proofs that the cheque was bounced and letter from my bank (IDBI) stating the reason for cheque bounce. I would appreciate your assistance in providing me fair judgement on the issue and compensation from SBICard for mental harrassment for the last one year on the issue. -Thanks Harshal Was this information helpful? | |
