[Resolved] State Bank of India — Fraudulent transaction from ATM | |||
I am writing with the concern of fraudulent transaction of INR 17000.00 (Seventeen thousand rupees) from my account on 10-Dec-2010. It has been more than 2 years and 3 months since the response is awaited from SBI and Banking ombudsman. Please see the transaction details below; Name of the customer: Deepak Sharma Name of the Bank: State Bank of India ATM from where the fraud was done: SBI Colony, Old Palasia Branch ATM ID: S10A[protected] Date of transaction: 10-December-2010 Time of transaction: 18:02:12 Account number: [protected] ATM card number:[protected] Amount withdrawn fraudulently: INR 17000.00 RBI ombudsman complaint number: [protected] I raised a written complaint to SBI on 15-December 2010 asking for a resolution but the same was not addressed within the stipulated time hence the case was escalated to Banking ombudsman(No response received). With reference to the video footage (ATM 1) provided by SBI, it is evident that my ATM card and pin was not used for that particular transaction (transaction details mentioned above). My sister went to withdraw funds from the Old Palasia branch ATM at 18.00:27 hrs. There were two ATM machines in that ATM room. When she inserted the card in ATM 1, she received a message o[censored]nable to process. But she had not entered the ATM pin number. So she moved to ATM 2 machine and withdrew Rs 500.00. Immediately, after my sister moved to ATM 2, a person went to the ATM 1 and withdrew Rs 17000.00 at 18:02:12 hrs from my account. Looking at the footage I received from SBI, it looks like the ATM 1 session remained active and that person withdrew the amount. Some things which I would like to bring to your notice 1. If my session was active on ATM 1, how did my second session get activated on ATM 2 at the same time? 2. There was some kind of a technical error due to which my money was tricked and withdrawn by the person. 3. A FIR was lodged immediately after the incident. But in spite of all these SBI has not helped in providing ATM 2 video footage. 4. There was no investigation carried out by SBI to know about the person who committed the fraud. 5. There was no security present in the ATM, to keep a watch on such persons who commit fraud. 6. Bank has shown negligence in keeping the security of the customers. 7. In spite of continuous follow ups for the past 2.3 years through mails, phone calls and personal visits, SBI has not shown response. This clearly indicates that SBI does not stand for its customers It is certainly a mistake from State Bank of India and as a customer I have every right to question SBI since they have neither heard me nor provided any resolution. I request you to investigate this case thoroughly and provide proper resolution. With lot of hope and faith I expect a positive response from your end. sirMy self wasim khan and i am residing in nihal vihar ( nangloi ) - 110041 , my issue is my saving account is with Bank of india and operating more then one year , i have issued one account payee cheque in favour of Hdfc bank limited but that image instead of hdfc wrote self and withdrwal amount 66,000/- after correction vide ch. no. 40 and 41 as soon as i got mail from bank immidiate i contact but bank manager not co opating with me due to that i log complain and draft the complain secondly i am demanding pls ch.the video clips of that person so that i will catch u but bank manager not entertaing me after that i will log the complain in near police station ..
