My name is Deepshankar Dey, and this complaint is against SBI, India largest bank.
Context: I was trying to open a savings account and deposit money in SBi :-).
Description: Just imagine citizens, and beaware because here is a bank who doesnt value any ones time and money, had it been a private bank they would have been backpacking by now.
I went to the Pune main branch approximately 20 days back to open a savings account, with a lot of trouble i got an account opeining form, in the mean time i also got to hear a few harsh words like " wo madam ke pass jao", Computer pe se haath nikalo" etc... finally i fill up the form and submit it to this very well spoken lady, who was the only point of help but had no powers what so ever.
Please mark my words, "this bank can convert automation into manual work, there is a form for everything...every single thing"
I had to fill up a form for Online banking, Debit cards (Joint Account Holder) and god know for what else in future.
Then i had to collect the idiot passbook, and i wasn't surprised to the tone of the teller, they were rude to the core. as in they were passing on a favour on the idiot customers.
I had a few bad instances as well in just 20 days of opening this account, for everyones information these 20 days were utilised by SBI to just open an account.
Finally their online banking never works, i am still waiting (7days) for their online banking credentials to work for me.
SBI Customer service is the most pathetic one i have ever spoken to, even BSNL has a better one, the guys sitting out there dont know heads no tail about their services, there is no co-ordination between bank and the contact center, the only answer they have is "Please Visit The Branch"
Problems in a flash:
1. Bad reception
2. Bad customer service
3. Bad personnel sitting at the teller (Very Rude)
4. Bad co-ordination between customer service and bank
5. No point of contact to get information conveniently ( I can loose anything if you get information at one counter)
6. Bad way of providing facilities - Internet Banking, Pin, Sccount number (SBI would frustrate you so much that you will be forced to not use any of the SBI services)
7. SBI will call you to the branch for everything.
Its been 20 days i haven't been able to operate this account, its still in the initial strugling stage, which is ka Account opening in SBI.
This bank can only operate in villages where people dont know the importace of online banking, customer service and where they would like to go to the branch for every single reason, no offences though.
I have been so frustrated with this service that i have planned to close this account/no operate this account, and open up another account in any other bank, and never ever in my life would i ever engage with SBI for any reason.
I am one of the SBI customer, I am Tamil nadu State Transport employ at Hosur Branch (TN), My account balance as per ATM is 3K+ dated on 02.10.09, but My passbook shows balance is 10K+. How it is possible for Rs:7000 different.
I have also asked the SBI branch at hosur, But they did not give any response. I feel so worry about that.

It is not understood that facility to download on line application for opening a new saving account is given but it is not updated.
If you say yes it is then pse tell me where is address columons for the customers and without address how can u accept the form or can you ?

This is 100% true. This Bank has worst service in western Maharashtra. The staff is very rude & behaves 100% in opposite what they mention in their advertisements - specially remember the ad. they do in name of Mahatma Gandhi. [ i.e. customer is god for us... customer is not an obstacle in our work etc. etc... ]
It is so simple Deepshankar ... SBI situation for such branches as of today is like a bullock cart driver is given a Mercedez or BMW to drive? This is what exactly happening with SBI banks in such areas, their personnel are not trained to meet the latest state-of-the-art banking requests and we cannot just blame the employees, it is our traditional system that they follow. They get frustrated when people like Deepshankar Dey approaches them with such requests whcih they are not aware/heard of ... please always understand their limitations, they cannot serve such requests in an hour, a day or a month.. it will take time to take a decision and then as i said such requests are probably sent to their HO in a 'bullock cart' for next action so it will take its time to get such services activatedI Recommend you try using other city braches of SBI for opening your account/activating online services and then you can have it transferred to the said branch without much difficulties or meeting such people at the counter for serving their customers/clients. My SB account is in Pallavaram branch(in Chennai) which was working on Sundays. Suddenly the branch has stopped working on Sundays. As such I am operating the account through Royapettah branch (in Chennai). Even for updating passbook one has to wait for 30 to 40 minutes [out of 5 counters only 1 or 2 will be working at a time]. Further, the bank is charging Rs.10, under the head "non-home passbk", for updating passbook. In my opinion, only God can tame SBI management and its staff.
This is aalok Bansal, i have an a/c from 2005 in Agra main Branch, But from last 4 Yrs i m under processings of My mobile no. registration, which is still in Process, They can't do anything for customers but only for their Relatives, sometimes they say, " there is no service for Mobile No. Registration, u are mistakenly filled some form", now i have opened an A/c with ICICI & using only this A/c. that SBI A/c is Used only for address Proof, nothing else is thr i can do wid dis a/c.
want to how to open new saving Account in thane branch.
how match time to take transaction in other state in other nationalazation bank's on line .

I am prashant. I am from middle india ( chhattisgarh) and currently in Pune (doing job). I am willing to open an account in SBI bank, . but the problem is that I dont have any proof of residance over here in Pune though I have passport, PAN and Driving licence which have the address of CG.
Do you think I can open the account in SBI as dont have any residancial proof.
Dont have rent agreement paper as I am not in agreement leaving with my frineds.
Actually I am asking this as my office timing and Bank timing is same.So I can't go bank. if its possible to open the account with this proofs than I will go to bank else I will look for another option.
I know that we have postpaid cnnection of Airtel mobile bill for three months.I want to used it as address proof .
so please confirm me about this that can I used it for Address proof verification.
