I am new subscriber of SUN Direct DTH Connection.The Quality of Channel Reception is amazing during regular weather, but during rainy time I have experienced off no signal Error (something like "E48 No Signal") appearing on the Television Screen.Once this happens, there is no resumption of Signal anymore and we will be able to watch the Channels only after switching Off and Switching On both the Television and the Set Top Box.I do not know whether this is how System Behaves in all the Cases, but Surely this is going to be a major SetBack if it happens to be the same in all the cases.
I use Sun DTH and my problem is also similar to this. I see 'E48 NO signal" kind of error for most of the channels. I was able to see all Tamil channels listed when I received the connection. But then it became worser. Only Podigai, Makkal and Mega TV are clearly visible. I called their support in Bangalore during the first week of November and no response from them. Whenever you call, they'll say that they'll send it to the technical dept and they'll fix it. They'll ask you to keep the set top box in on mode for a day. nothing will happen. I contacted them after a month, yesterday. The person assisted me to upgrade a software through the set top box menu. He said that it will be corrected once the software gets downloaded. But nothing happened. The service is too poor. Atleast if the cable TV is not good, we can ask the cable operator when he comes for collecting the money. In this case, other than the customer service center, there is no other go.
Samething happen to me, i am not getting the signal, then i called the customer service, they told to call my local distributor, then i called my local distributor, the came and checked then he gave me another no to call technician, I tried to call the technician over 25 to 30 times. Once in a while he picks up my call and tells me that he is driving. Nearly 10 days, till i am not able to watch any channel, not able to get any person.
Thinking to cancel sun direct, but will not get refund.
Yes, I am also facing a similar problem. Since a week I am getting 'E48 - No signal'. When i called the customer care, they were telling me to do as per their instruction with the DTH remote. When it failed, they informed me to contact the local distributor. When i went to the distributor in person, they said their technician will be reaching me. It has become 5 days till now. No one from Sun DTH have come. I am feeling bad with Sun DTH now. I am able to watch only Podhigai, Makkal & Mega tv. I dont know really what these DTH people will do if these kind of things happens to them. They can prepare a FAQ sort of procedures and solutions and publish in the web. Hope they will become matured in near future.
Yes. Iam also facing th same problem. All the time a error occurred that E8 No signal. I called customer care to chennai. They guide me to reset the factory setup. But still Iam sufferiing the same problem. Finally Scold customer care and I asked them to guide me to surrender the SunDirect Connection. I have no Idea. If anybody know about to complain at Consumer court, please guide me.
i had taken sun dth connectin on21-12-2008, my smart card no R 411 350 388 79 since 15 days very poor quality some times strucked

I am planning to file a case in consumer court against the service level of sun direct. Is anyone willing to join me? If so send me a mail with your details like name and location and smart card number. I will include your cases also in my complaint against them.
I had purchased sundirect for rs.1999 on 7/4/2009...and i couldn able to see any channel in my tv for atleast 1 day...still its displaying that e48 no signal. please take necessary steps..so that i can see channels in tv.My Smart card s.i no is 41144342353.
I had the same problem. We replaced the cable with the help of a local electrician and it worked. Now I am not having this problem. Yes, their customer service is the worst and it is very difficult to get their customer care line. Even nodal officers cannot be reached and e-mails sent to them will reach trash. Hence I resorted to a local technician to correct the problem.
During rains if this happens then surely the problem is with the cable as water may entered the cable.
This f**king thing is happening everywhere...The customer care is the worst and website utter waste.Any time u switch on the tv the error codes like E48, E52, E16 will appear...This will happen often during peak hours...
EAST OR WEST SUN DTH is the WORST...
