Tata Indicom Broadband — Denial of Services

A few days after recharging the prepaid connection for Tata indicom broadband at my residence, the modem stopped connecting to the internet. A technical complaint was registered on November 23, 2008. The problem remained unsolved for several days, after which repeated calls to customer care were made. During the 14 calls, we were kept on hold for several minutes and transfered to one person or the other each BPO executive only repeating the taught standard comments like " I request you to be kindly online' and after 15 minutes, "thankyou for being online Maam" "We will take this up with top priority and try to solve this within two days this time" and so on. Written complaints to the chennai nodal officer also served no purpose. After a month and half, we shifted our residence, and when I sent a mail informing this, hoping some response since that service requires further payment of money, YES, they replied, called me immediately, but said that there will be no compromise on the remaining INR 1056.00 balance & the 3 month recharge amount of INR 600.00 to adjust on the number of missing connection days and as priority special case they can give a validity extension of 8 days. :) I denied this offer as it would be another era of bad service from Tata Indicom & Now, I'm at a loss of INR 1656.00 + the Landline calls to a non toll free number while trying to solve the problem.
