[Resolved]  Tata Indicom — Incomplete Information Given - Wrong Bill Generated

I got a HSIA - High Speed Internet USB Modem from Tata Indicom on 20 Aug 08. The boys who came to install the device took INR 3360/- and took a couple of signatures on a form which they said they will fill up for me and left.

Before leaving they told me that I can do upto 3 GB download for free each month for the first 2 months. (1 GB as per plan + 2 GB for the first 2 months as a promotional offer.)

This is all they told me.

I had asked them to enroll me for the INR Rs. 800 plan which offered the above specifications.

On 29th out of my own interest I called them. They told me that for the 9 days o[censored]sage they have billed me INR 5800/- after giving me a discount of INR 1900/-. So ineffect they have billed me about about INR 7000/-.

I have only downloaded 2.6 GB in these 9 days. My bill should have been INR 800/- or less.

All this information was given to me by a supervisor Ramya. She put me on to Kiran from the billing department.

Was told by kiran that she will take care of the situation and I will be charged only 250 to 300. was advised to call tata and get the bill amount.

Called TATA on Sep 3. Santhosh .. told me that bill was 5000+. requested for Kiran. she took senthils number and said that she will have the bill reworked. gave the docket number ..[protected] ..[protected]



I have done total 2600 to 2700 mb of downloads.

Around 5th or 6th naveena called and said that the sales team had given me correct information. i told her that i am not complaining that there was any wrong information. I told her that incomplete information was given because of which wrong bill has been generated. she said that someone will call back in a day. no one did.

11 sep .. recd the bill with 5539/-. called tata. vinod said that naveena closed the case. asked him to reopen the case and escalate this ..

kannan gave me new docket number ..[protected]. told him to please copy all the info from old ticket to the new one. told him to tell me that they cant help me if they are going to close the case.

Sent an email to the Board of directors. no response from them.
The internet is full of similar complaints about Tata Indicom.
Today also Michael a customer support guy called and said that the bill is correct. He was not even aware of my plan.

Please help.
