[Resolved]  Times Of India; Bennett Coleman And Co — TOI - Cheaters or Owners of the most inefficient Customer care unit?

Dear All,

I am writing to the Senior Management of 'The Times of India' group in the hopes of being heard. I could not figure out your customer care e-mail ID on your website.

I subscribed for the Top Gear and Femina in the month of March (Chq dated 27th March) issues starting May 2011. This was a promotional offer at discounted price with subscription gifts, advertised at one of your kiosks in Kandivali East (Details Attached). I take pride on my attention to details and hence before i applied for the subscription cross checked on the offer details / gifts with the Times of India customer care.

My Cust ID is: 28367510

I was told to expect the delivery of the subscription gifts by june 2011. Since then i have been calling the Times of India customer care at least twice a month and have got reverts like:
- Would get a revert in a few hours time (3 times, without getting a revert even once)
- Would get a call back in 10 mins (5 times, without getting a revert even once)
- Would recieve gifts in 2 weeks time (twice with no success)
- Kindly hold on, will have my senior speak to you (4 times, i did hold on the call for upto 15 minutes and then got disconnected)

Today being my lucky day, when i called up the customer care and changed my tone, i was told by the lady that i would get a call back in 10 mins. I got one in half an hour. This time some senior customer care executive assured me of solving my issue and to access my info tried connecting to the TOI system while i waited. 5 mins she could not log in and then with a promise of calling me back hung up. I am still waiting for her call.

Now it's not just the gifts that I am following up for, i simply dont like being duped. The way TOI has been responding on my concerns, either Bennett Coleman and Co is a big cheat or owns one of the most inefficient customer care service.

I am filing this complaint with all the consumer forums, where i have their online contact details. I trust people at your level do have some control to get my issues resolved.

TOI — TOI Cheating

I wanted to take time in warning people against being cheated by TOI 1-year subscription. I took one in May 2009 vide order number NAB 086836. It’s 12 July and still absolutely no show by anyone. Made at least 40 calls to[protected], to the various agents’ numbers provided by them with extremely rude and indifferent response. Most of the agents did initially understand the issue and had promised to deliver paper “Within 48 hours” since more than a month. On the follow up calls regarding non delivery, they only uttered “Only Tamil” and adamantly disconnected the call.

Also, on calling the above help (?) line number and asking for a supervisor, unfortunately, no supervisor is EVER available. Quite amazing!

Well, all my expectation is now to spread the message as much as possible, and I do believe in the power of mass…

Even am facing similar issue.

I recieved the paper for 6 months, since Jan 2010 am not receiving it

People are calling my mobile for renewal, and i wonder will anybody go for renewal.

Area Incharge is not even picking the call nowadays.

I would like to take the issue to the Top Management of Times of India to have a deep attention to the below mentioned.

I subscribed for newspaper in July 26th and got the annual subscription coupon in mid August to start delivering the paper from Aug 16th. but it is really frustrating that such a big organization will have such a poor customer service pattern.

After calling more than 10 times to customer care and got a assurance, the issue has not been resolved till now.

I would like to request you all to take the necessary action or else let me know the alternative solution for this hence I could act accordingly.
