[Resolved]  Toyota Etios Liva — Front Suspension Large Noise on Speedbreaker & Uneven surface at the 25-35 KM speed

Address:Pune, Maharashtra

1.Left hand front-suspension giving loud noise at the speed of 25-35. Imagine while driving in traffic and suddenly on speed breaker such huge ugly noise is coming out from the Etios Liva Vehicle.
2. While Gear Shifting getting locked for 1,2 Reverse gears. On application of reverse gear the gears make jarring noise. This is very annoying. The transmission is very poorly designed which takes lot of effort to shift gears.
3. Rear Mirror coming out frequently on very next moment when u drive from speed-breaker.
4. Huge vibrations in driving seat cabin making so pathetic to drive the car and no pleasure.5. Why Engine knocking while using reverse, 1st & 2nd gear.
I bought Toyota Etios Liva on 16th Oct-2011 from Sharayu Toyota dealer in Pune. Right from day-1 Sharayu started with their false commitment. They were supposed to provide september-2011 manufactured car, instead they provided me dated July-2011 manufactured Etios Liva CAR. Somehow Sharayu Sales tried to comprise and assured me vehicle is having no issue.
Somehow I made up my mind and accepted. But right from day-1 that on 16th oct-2011 I noticed Etios Liva V model started giving problems. As mentioned above the list of problems on day of delivery I identified and notified Sharayu dealer/Sales engineer.
With all above problem I have been following with Sharayu Toyota dealer and in turn Sharayu following up with Toyota Company, Bangalore and today i.e after 2 1/2 months Toyota given contradictory feedback saying Suspension problem is not problem but its phenomenon i.e. normal.
If this is is the case then no where your sales brochure and manual specifies suspension vibration and noise values to make aware the genuine customer like me.

Kindly let me know any further details required and requesting to provide me justice for the investment of 6.5 Lakhs which I made with Toyota Company.

Dear Friends, I had bought an Etios on 19th March`12 from Galaxy Toyota, Kotla Mubarakpur, Delhi and made the same complaint at their workshop in Okhla - unpleasant sudden noise ( as if something is snapping) whenever the car hits a small (I mean small) pothole or runs over a small b ump at speeds...of 25-30 kms. this is coming from the front suspension, especially right, I believe. As some of you had mentioned above, the agency (Galaxy) very diligently checked the car, suspension etc and declared that there is absolutely no problem! I don`t want to take this lying down.
is there anybody out there who suffered some damage due to this problem? then we have something in our hand. pl respond
P R Prasad/New Delhi.
I have the same problem with front left suspension... the mechanic at Lanson Toyota says that this is normal as the engine weight is on the right side... rubbish.
me too face same problem..please dont buy etios or etios liva...i[censored] have any doubts call me @[protected]
I absolutely agree with the front suspension noise on speed brakers and uneven road...have complaint about the same to the dealer, Grace Toyota, Gurgaon from day 1. As per him, this is a common problem with Etios models and has been reported to the company. All of them are waiting for the resolution from the company.
Yes I have a similar problem. when you hit a small pothole on a smooth road, there is a very uncharacteristic sound (metal clang" noise" due to recoil in the suspension. This is a LIVA diesel and it has slighltly smaller wheels than the premium models.

Every other problem could be tolerated except this one.

Hi another problem I had noticed with my Etios is that the gap between the doors and the body is slightly large, resulting in lots of dust getting inside, especially all over the inside of the doorframe. imagine large amounts of dirt and dust getting in like this when you open your locked car. I think the company should have done something about this atleast, such as putting larger rubber beadings, making the doors slightly larger etc. I used to keep my Wagon R locked for days together and whenever I want to drive it, the inside is absolutely clean and undisturbed, whereas even one day you keep your Etios locked and the next day a big cleaning job awaits you. this is very disgusting.P R Prasad/New Delhi
absolutely agree with all the above complaints. i have the same problem with suspension and reverse gear. i also had pathetic kind of service from Nandi Toyota, hosur road, Bangalore where my personal belongings from the car are stolen!

i have registered a complaint in this regard with Toyota, why don't you guys also raise a complaint by calling the Toyota customer care number [protected] (toll free) or[protected]?
I do experienced Left hand front-suspension giving loud noise at the speed of 25-35. Gear Shift noise on changing to 4th Gear, whining cabin sound, door handles etc I had gone by Toyota Name but to keep it low cost some areas have been compromised.

Although there good aspects also due to which I chose this good cabin space, standard ABS, low maintenance etc

It looks Liva GD has been launched to capture flourishing taxi/cab services and compromised in interior quality

I bought my Liva GD in Feb, 2012. From day 1 I also have the same problems!
(i) Jarring noice with the reverse gear and (ii) poorly designed front suspension which makes a thud noioce every time you pass thru a hump or dump.
Initially my fuel inlet was also damaged and required replacement. I already made a complaint to Toyota in email and repeatedly following up with them but Toyota never listens to customers voice!! Toyota dealer Nandi toyota also given me bad experience more than 2-3 times!!!
I purchased a Toyota Etios Liva V in May 2012. I have not noticed sound coming from front suspension when moving over a breaker. However, I have the following problems and not at all happy with my purchase so far:

1. Lot of cabin noise from the roof (air cutting) and floor at 60+ speed
2. Despite ABS, brakes not good enough at very high speeds
3. The car shakes when moving up at steep heights (in an office basement) and runs only in 1st gear. Would not climb up in 2nd gear (My old car (Santro Xing 2006) would climb up in 2nd gear with AC on)
4. With AC on, difficult to drive in 2nd gear in slow moving traffic. Have to shift to 1st gear. My old car (Santro Xing 2006) works fine in 2nd gear with AC on
5. Although the car seems sturdy, while driving I feel that the car is very light and Toyota has made compromises on the body structure and safety
6. Gear shifting not so smooth and car gives sudden jerk when shifting gears
7. Agree that dust peeps in when the car is locked

hi guys I bought toyota etios on 31st july 2011 since then I drove 4300 km and facing the same problem of noise from the suspensions at the speed of 25-30 kms when I complained the noise on my first service the engineers at Galaxy Toyota, Moti Nagar told me that this is an operational noise of the suspensions & I have to live with it. Now when I got my car serviced second time the noise increased & the paint of the car has started fading from the edges of the doors, hood, boot
pls suggest or rather discuss what should be done

PLEASE IGNORE THE LAST POST

Guys, I could be sometimes too critical of things which I dont like during initial use, and hence asked my brother to drive my Liva. He came over the weekend and was very disappointed with the car's sluggish pick up, inability to cross 80 Kmph on fifth gear with full acceleration (with AC on).

Very disappointed with my purchase and will take this up with Toyota. Also purchased my vehicle from Galaxy Toyota, Moti Nagar.

Any clue if modern day cars can do steep climb on second gear when already in motion since Galaxy Toyota service manager told me that modern day cars can only climb uphill (steep climb in office basements, malls, etc) in first gear only???. I am not too convinced. Any thoughts would be welcome!!!
I bought my Liva sportiva in Sept, 2012. From day 1 I also have the same problems!
(i) Jarring noise with the reverse gear and (ii) poorly designed front suspension which makes a thud noise every time you pass thru a hump or dump.
Initially my radiator was also damaged and due to this engine is blocked and required replacement. My Liva is dropped in DSK Toyota service center i Satara and repeatedly following up with them but Toyota never listens to customers voice! And not taking any responsibility! Toyota dealer DSK also with them.So guys please don't take interest in Liva and think about Toyota.
my Liva GD is showing suspension problem and reported to Nippon Toyota Trivandrum. My vehicle has done only 10000 km.They replaced the front suspension. But still the problem persists.
Hi,

Purchased my LIVA GD yesterday only. Although, the car is exceptional in all the other excepts but the problem of noise from the front suspension is very much there. "When you hit a small pothole on a smooth road, there is a very uncharacteristic sound (metal clang" noise" due to recoil in the suspension." It seems like something is loose in the front assembly. And, it is from the right side.

After reading all the above reviews, I am not sure if showing it to the Toyota dealership will solve any problem.

Though, I liked the car very much in all the other aspects (especially, its stability during breaking, and its smooth drive on highway), the suspension noise problem is definitely annoying.
Hello Friends,

This is the same story with my Etios VX ( Generation 1 (2011 Jan purchase). right from 28K of running. Even though the service center guys ( knew ) this, they suppressed this fact some how till 49K meters and finally I went to a different location ( hosur rd to rm nagar ring road area) of same Nandi toyota bangalore, they diagnosed it and they replaced the spings ( front and back all) . I lost the money to them paying for "Kirloskar" company mistake, just because the service center guys told me that these problems are not mentioned in the service history.

After 3 months o[censored]se ( about 3K km, I am hearing the same annonying noise .. Just now the Service center guys mentioned me that now
the problem is with the Bush anchoring the spring and rod it seems.. I am wondering why all of the sudden for the same noise from the front left side ( suspension area), it is happening due to the rubber bush. ( which they are asking 1500 Rs for part cost). They say that it is natural worn out for the bushing set.

Please do not buy toyota etios or variants for private use. This is potentially good for Taxi only.
