[Resolved] Toyota Innova — Damaged Gear Box which is not being Replaced inspite of being maintained By them & under Warranty | |
My vehicle Toyota Innova with the registration No MH 02 BG5900 purchased on 12/09/08 from Lakozy Toyota Mumbai costing 13 lac rupees self driven & maintained & serviced by them ( 1st Service within 1000 kms , 2nd Service In about 1800 kms ) This was a replacement Vehicle to the Qualis Which I previously owned for 6 yrs driven around 120000 kms without trouble till a company sales person persuaded us into buying an Innova . My ordeal with the vehicle began on 29/10/09 when I drove my wife 3 kids aged 4yrs ,3yrs,6 months along with my maid drove to Dharwad from Mumbai a distance of 570 kms in about 9- 10 hrs without trouble, had a halt for abut 4hrs my friend in Dharwad joined us & we proceeded to Dandeli about 65 kms into the forest to a resort . About half way into the journey I heard a small hissing sound for a moment which stopped & we thought it was insignificant, about 6kms from the resort suddenly the sound appeared & there was a rattle from the gear box. we somehow made it to the resort & called Shoddha Toyota in hubli Closest toyota service centre about 80 kms from the resort. They told us that since we were very far we should drive back, we refused as it was already getting dark & a complete breakdown in the forest would be horrifying & insisted on getting vthe vehicle towed by them which they agreed to do so only the next morning. They did so the next morning with a mahindra pick up jeep & not a truck with a vehicle rack, the towing journey was difficult & risky considering the terrain & we reached the service station in Hubli about 3hrs later the technicians raised the vehicle & found a leaking rear end oil seal of the transmission on collecting the entire oil it was not more than 200 ml.It was supposed to be 2.5 Litres. They said they would top up the oil & check for noise,but it was found the gears had seized. Now they say they will repair the badly damaged gears. For which I refused & demanded they change the entire gear assembly, & demanded an explanation for the situation & the inconvenience it had caused me & my family.Since the oil had leaked from manufacturers defective oil seal which the company service centres failed to detect not once but 2 services. I believe the least they can do is replace the defective gear assembly,rear oil seal of transmission, give an explanation and an apology for the inconvenience it has caused me & my family.I commuted to Mumbai with my family in public transport as it was time of Diwali vacations.Also after the work is over I have to close my clinic for 3 days to go all the way back & get my vehicle . I wrote an email to the company about everything & how painful it was after paying 13 lacs of my hard earned money and total distance covered by the vehicle till date is 2820kms. The companys response was even more shocking. They did not reply to my questions, and said that they would only repair the gear box . I do not get sleep at night & feel traumatised by their callous, unproffesional, non proficient attitude. I have also taken photographs which I will attach.
