[Resolved]  Unitech Kolkata — ransom

Dear Sir,
I am writing to you in desperation as I am an NRI and had purchased a flat at Unitech Uniworld Rajarhut in Kolkata in 2008. I paid 65 lacs so far and the project has been delayed by 24th mths. On 17th Nov '09 I was sent a demand letter for an additional 7.5 lacs stating that the overall floor space had increased by 316 sq.ft of which only 40 sq.ft relates to my flat. Though we had paid on time whenever the demand letters for stage payements were made we never received any information to the change of plan .
In spite of my requests to provide me with copy details of the floor plan , date of original plan sanctioned and revised plans sanctioned,measurement of original plan and revised plan and permission of Promoters act authority to change the plan, the company has refused to do so stating that it is the company policy of not sharing the above.
I feel that we are now being held at ransom of either Pay up as we demand or lose our flat.
Please advice on this matter.
