[Resolved]  Uti Pan Card Service — Status of complaint

I find it amazing that everyone is so polite, when obviously they are not being given the service that is due to them. Everyone knows that you cannot do anything important without a PAN card. Yet there are huge delays in processing. Part of the reason for this is the sheer excessiveness of bureaucracy in the procedures.
1. If someone has lost their PAN card and has the PAN number and a photocopy of the card, why would you ask for all the documents to be provided again as if one is applying for a new card? Simply print out another copy of the card on payment of the fee. Even credit cards can be reissued like that simply over the phone. Why not the PAN card?
2. Since the PAN card does not contain the address, why do you need proof of address? This is the address to which the card will be sent. If someone is stupid enough to give a false address, they will not receive their PAN card.
3. Since a passport is considered the ultimate proof of identity, it should be sufficent for issue of a new PAN card, even if the passport is no longer valid for travel. After all, the identity does not become invalid.
Attention to simple logic, and a more clearly detailed procedure to cover different cases will help to streamline processing and reduce the logjam in issuing PAN cards. And it would help if the staff at the processing centres try to understand these things instead of being rude and officious.

This is Divya Mishra,i ahve applied for PAN card in march 2007.pan card tracker shows that it has been dispatched but till now i did not get that one.I have applied again for anew PAN card with correction in that but again on net it gives the status that it has been dispatched but i did not get the new one.

My name is Krishna Konanoor Ramachandra.My PAN card had data wrongly printed on it. I applied for correction through your branch i,e UTI Tech, Ulsoor, Bangalore. I was told to hand over the PAN card and write an application in order to solve the problem. I received my PAN card two days ago saying only 25 characters can be printed on the PAN card and UTI has processed the data properly. I was told to apply for correction again by paying the correction fee. But in actual, my father's name was printed wrongly albeit the restriction of 25 characters. Please advice me for taking necessary action. If I apply for the PAN card then would it be the same number and how long would it take for processing.

have applied at UTI service centre,Thane(Mumbai0 for fresh PAN card on 8.01.2008 & i was informed about my coupen no[protected] & PAN card no. on AMVPD5465D & status on web against my coupen no is showing that pan card has been dispatched by post on 19.01.2008 but still i have not received my pan card & i have also checked nearby my post office i am helpless to find out from there also my pan card with out dispatch document no. pls let me know dispatch details aginst my card.
