[Resolved] Vodafone Postpaid — Weird SMS Message | |||
Sir, I have taken a Corporate Connection from Vodafone being an employee of State Bank of India. My cellphone no is [protected]. On 04/09/2010, I received a message from VM-BORALERT which I quote "Cheque collection Alert : Amount Rs.139000 lodged for collection to your account no. *9852 as : BY INST 848800 MICR OWCLG At Solid 1170." I do not seem to have undertaken any such transaction from any Bank nor do I have any such account ending with 9852. It does not also seem to be any of my debit/credit card. I would be obliged to be clarified in this regard and details to such transaction. Today ie 05.09.2010, I again received an SMS alert from LM-RBI which states RBI: Remittance towards participation in lotteries/prizes is prohibited under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999. Visit www.rbi.org.in for details. Does these two messages have any connection whatsoever? I would be grateful to be clarified in the matter to enable me to take precautionary measures if any of my accounts are tampered with unknowingly. Regards.
