[Resolved] Western Railway — Charging of Penalty which is not possible while having a Ticket
While travelling from Andheri Station to Ville Parle station, I had bought a Second class Ticket costing Rs.4/-. But dut to emergency (as my mother had already arrived at airport with health problems) I had to reach the airport immediately. As the second class bogies were fully crowded and packed (unable to get inside the train), I had to board First class bogie. The TTE charged me Rs.290 (Rs.250 as penalty + Additional fare of Rs.40). When I Had a ticket , why the penalty was charged. Only the difference of fare should have been charged. The TTE went to Station Master (Date : 08-Aug-2010, Time 2:40 PM) and station master also agreed that penalty should be charged. As per the rules , only when you are without ticket, penalty needs to be charged. THEN WHY WAS PENALTY CHARGED TO ME. The behaviour of station master and TTE (NAME : MAHESH KUMAR SINGH, ID - A004314) was very bad. Request you to kindly look into the matter and refun my penalty amount of Rs.250/-. Regards, Krishnan R Was this information helpful?
