[Resolved] Whirlpool / Washing Machine — Servicing racket
We purchased a Whirlpool automatic washing machine in mar 2007. It has developed problems on numerous occassions. Just last month we got the inlet/outlet valve changed for about Rs 1000/- The service engineer informed us at that time that we should go for a service contract. I was not interested and told him so. A couple of days ago, the machine stopped working altogether. When the service engineer attended today, he said that the pcb has a fault and needs to be replaced. My contention is, why should I pay Rs 3200/- for an entire new PCB. Why can't the company investigate what is wrong with the existing PCB and repair the same. Repairing a PCB is not rocket science!!!! Even if a small resistor is defective anywhere on the PCB, the unit will not work. It is high time that companies like this stop such malpractice of fleecing trusting customers. Kindly advise if any action can be taken against these people. Was this information helpful?
