[Resolved]  Dell — Outrightly rejects to provide service to out of warranty

This is to inform that service staff including Branch Manager at DELL Authorized Service Centre at I-32,
Lajpat Nagar-2, New Delhi-110024 denied to provide service as my laptop was out of warranty. The first question was asked whether the laptop was within the warranty period. When it was informed to the service staff who was in the service desk, to whom i reached after taking a coupon at the entrance and after waiting for my turn he said that with his experience he thinks there is a problem in the mother board and it needs to be changed. For precisely identifying the problem a charge of around Rs 1364 will be levied and if there is any problem in the Motherboard(even a small problem like changing of an IC or whatever) the whole Motherboard has to be replaced as there is no concept of repair in DELL and the Motherboard would cost Rs 13000.
When the staff was asked to go ahead and i was ready to pay the charge of Rs 1364(approx) for identifying the problem and also Rs 13000 for the Motherboard he resisted by saying that there is no Motherboard available in the centre and it will take a long time to make it available as there is no supply from DELL. When i insisted that i rely only on authorized service centre and is willing to leave my laptop with them by paying the required amount and collect it when it is mended this man went to inform the Branch Manager.
The Branch Manager came after some time and said why i am unnecessarily wasting time by insisting to get my laptop mended over there. He advised me to go to Nehru Place instead and get it mended by some local shop over there with a much lesser price. He also said that i have a very wrong impression that i will get something very new and a good motherboard in the authorized centre as all such replacements are done by refurbished material and not a brand new one. Even when i insisted that i am new in town and i dont know any such reliable shop and have taken pains to find out the authorized centre by travelling a long distance and is also willing to wait for as much time required to mend the laptop, the Branch Manager refused to provide me any service regarding my DELL Laptop. At last he said that he has got a mail from the top not to receive any out of warranty product as company is unable to supply adequate parts for service.
Helplessly i had to leave the service station. This incident happened on 10th January, 2015 in the afternoon. Till date my laptop could not be mended much to the loss of my research works and i ardently request the company authorities to help me in this regard.
