Dreamz Infra — Waiting for 7 months to get my money back

I had booked an apartment in 'SADAN' project of Dreamz Infra Ltd and had paid 50% downpayment amount. Since Dreamz Infra could not get approval from the Govt and with absolutely no progress with the construction even after 18 months, I approached the Cancellation department to cancel my booked apartment on Sep 1, 2014. I was told that my money will be returned only after waiting for an additional 4 months and I was given post dated checks(SBI) Dec 25th 2015 to Jan 2nd 2015 for a sum of Rs 1636000. The cheques were dishonored with reason “Account Closed”. When I approached Dreamz Infra with this situation and asked for a Demand draft (DD), I was again given another set of post dated checks (Axis bank ) Dates Feb 2nd 2015 to Feb 7th 2015 for the sum of Rs.1672000 in-spite of my refusal to accept them. Now, after a month of waiting to cash in the second set of checks, they were also dishonored with “insufficient funds” (as predicted earlier by Dreamz Infra). They gave me a letter in the company letter head stating that if these cheques were also dishonored, then they would be getting a DD within 7 to 12 days.
