[Resolved]  slice of italy — did not deliver the cake

Hello Team,

I ordered an eggless/sugarfree cake for my mom's 50th birthday celebrations from Slice of Italy and made an immediate payment through credit card. This was done early morning at around 9:45 AM on 18th December 2012. These guys were trying to call me and chase me around 4:30 PM saying that the payment is not yet received hence the cake is not prepared yet ( though i received an e payment receipt from them at the time of payment).

I called their manager at the head office (Mr Kamal in okhla), and he confirmed me that payment was recieved and they will deliver the cake as promised. I asked him to please make sure that the same is done, otherwise i will order from somewhere else as there is still around 3 hrs time for me to get a cake from some where else.

He confirmed that it will be delivered by 7PM. But when i called at 7:30 PM, to my dismay they told me that the cake was not prepared and we can not deliver it now. This incidence spoilt my evening. Everyone knows that cake has such an emotional importance on special occasions and these people just spoiled it completely. And when i called back the manager again he is giving me stupid excuses like, the person who took the order may be a trainee, we will refund you for the cake and without understanding that i can not get a cake from outside now as it was already around 8PM. He also insisted that he will send a cake with egg as replacement for now, inspite of me telling numerous times that no one takes eggs in our family and moreover my mother is allergic to egg ( this was clearly specified in while placing the order).


All in all a very poor customer service and completely spoiled the occasion and everyone gathered at home was disheartened as everyone was waiting for it.

Now, i have sent a mail to their customer service team for refund as the cake was not delivered, no one even bothered to acknowledge the email forget about a word from apology from their side.
