Subject: Complaint regarding misinformation about number of ice cream scoops
We visited the Gelato Vinto parlour at Select City Walk, Saket, last night, i.e. February 7, 2016 at approximately 10:47 pm. We placed an order for ONE scoop of ‘chocolate oreo ice cream’. The gentleman at the sales counter enquired whether we would like the same in a cone. He did not bother to ask about the number of scoops we actually wanted (which was just ONE instead of THREE). Moreover, the cone was stale.
When finished, he announced an exorbitant charge of Rs. 395.00 which came as a shock to us as we were expecting something around 100. Plus, we were not even provided a bill for our purchase. This is nonsense; the customer should be asked before the cone is stuffed with unrequired scoops! We put up a little fight but had to pay the bill at last. The salesman said and I quote, “We never tell the customers how many scoops are required to fill a cone, however we might suggest a cup for a single scoop if and only if, the customer insists”.
Due to this experience, the evening ended on a bad note. We felt cheated and are very disappointed by the behaviour of the staff, the taste and the price of the ice-cream. Other brands provide much better ice cream and services at one third the cost. The reputation of your brand has forever been ruined in our eyes.
