[Resolved] Jawed Habib Service — Permanent Hair Straightening | |||
I went to Javed Habeeb on 4/05/13 for permanent hair straightening. They charged 8000 for providing the service and over that they charged a service tax of 988 which is 12.36% which totaled to Rs 8988.(Bill no : 738; Outlet Address: Kamalpuri colony, Srinagar colony, hyderabad, 500073 Generally, the liability to pay service tax has been placed on the ?service provider?. However, in respect of the taxable services notified under Sec.68(2) of the Finance Act,1994, the service tax shall be paid by such person and in such manner as may be prescribed at the rate specified in Sec.66 of the Act and all the provisions of Chapter-V shall apply to such person as if he is the person liable for paying the service tax. Even though it is a service provider, it makes customers to pay the extra tax which the service provider has to pay. I straightened my hair there. They promised that the straightening will last for 1 year irrespective o[censored]sing spa treatment before actually starting the procedure of hair straightening. While doing the procedure of hair straightening, they started saying that spa will keep u r hair moisturised and so take spa I have to extra 6000+ service tax of 12.36%. (The information was not provided prior to hair straightening ). So I bought my own spa tratment kit of loreal paris worth 3000 and started doing it as per procedure. But with in one month I lost my hair straightening. When I went to the salon they did not take any responsibility. They say that as I am using loreal paris spa as opposed to wella spa i lost my hair straightening. And to repair it they asked me to pay extra 6000 + 12.36% tax. Other beauty parlours such as anoos are providing straightening along with spa for 10000 no tax levied on customers. Jawed Habib levies tax on customer as opposed to paying itself. Does not provide proper information about the services(even when asked) before actually starting the service. I raised a complaint with their customer care. The complaint no. is K31051215. on[protected]. They promised to act in 24 business hours but there is no response from their side. Do I have to forfeit my money, as it a service? Or can I fight to get back the service which they promised ? Please help me. I lost 8988 on their services and 3000 on the other products to maintain the straightening, yet I lost straightening, money and hair volume as well. (I asked her to cut 1 inch, she has cut half of my hair and claims she has cut only one inch, "I don't understand if according to her math knowledge one inch is equal to 15 cms as opposed to 2.54cm). I BOUGHT A REFRIGERATOR FROM HAIR FOR 31000 AND I ALSO TOOK THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR 1500 WHICH COVERED EVERY THING.THE FREEZER OF REFRIGERATOR IS DEAD FROM 3 MONTHS AND IAM COMPLAINING CONTINUOUSLY FROM 3 MONTHS BUT NOTHING HAS HAPPENED.
