[Resolved]  HDFC Bank — Credi Card Closure

Hi This is Arvind Solanki faced a serious problem with HDFC credit card. I have good relationship with HDFC bank since last 3.8+ years regarding my personal account and credit card. I started using hdfc credit card in 2011 (card#[protected]). I got this card when I was in Bhubaneswar Orrisa. Due to my job requirement i have moved to delhi 3 years back. after some time i called to customer care regarding my credit card closure as limit was not good and they denied. I thought that i should close this card and get a fresh one with increased limit (This was the suggestion from one of their customer care executive on call). when i called customer care again to close this card they said there is no procedure to close your card on phone and asked me to send some form to close/address update/ mob update whatever i wanted to do. Then i thought lets continue with this card so lets update my new address/Mobile number (as both are changed after moving to delhi). I filled the form and dropped into a dropbox at hdfc bank's sector-56 branch but my address and mobile number never get updated on my CC statements. I still thought that there might be some failure in delivery and continued with the card till the expiration of the card. This card was about to expire in oct-2014, i visited hdfc bank branch in Gurgaon regarding the proper closure of this card as there is no credit card department in gurgaon as per bank manager. Card got expired and new card has been issued on my name without asking whether i need or not, they did not even asked me that where do we have to deliver this card, not even a single email notification, nothing at all and i dont know where that card is??? I called customer care regarding the closure and they said, i have to fill up a form that is available on their site for closure and believe me guys there is no form for closure is available on HDFC site... I called again they said ok no form available then write an application and send us through HDFC bank. I have written an application dropped in HDFC dropbox in gurgaon branch and my card is never get closed. I called customer care regarding the my application is not taken in consideration for closure and they said, I can close my card only if i have my mobile number ON which i have given in credit card 3 years back in Bhubaneswar. can you imagine that. After a long discussion he said that please clear your all dues and we will close your card permanently(i felt good after listening something positive) i did payment of my outstanding amount(1103.59 INR) and called again, customer care executive said that we did not received you payment till now so we cant close your card and asked to wait till the payment received. called next day and they said yes your payment is received but we can not cancel your card on phone. I have given every verification about me then why do you need that mobile number only... I said if you want to send some verification code or something please use my email which i have given in credit card. After a long discussion executive put me on hold and said that please talk to my boss/senior... A lady came on the phone with and she was talking very rudely. She said if i want to close my card i have to get my old number activated that i was using in Bhubaneswar and there is no other way. Your card will not be close for all your life time. i have called customer care almost 10 times wasted lot of time. Now My question to HDFC are: 1. Is this the right way to deal with customers. 2. If i don't have my old mobile number then my email will not considered why? 3. Do you think that harassing your one customer can give you more profit or making them happy can be more profitable. 4. Do you think that after all this i ever use HDFC credit card again. 5. Do you think i would suggest HDFC to anyone anymore. I will wait for your answers.
